Been playing the OT for the last few weeks and out of the blue I decided to play Andromeda.
At launch, I couldn't even finish the game it was so bad to me. Story, character, dialogue everything was terrible and I hated the sitcom like atmosphere. I started a Sara Ryder this morning and for some reason I'm having fun and the dialogue and story isn't as total shit as I remembered. A few dialogues are full of cringe, but the OT had those too.
Anyone else experience liking andromeda after putting it down for a while?

I still like it despite a lot of autodialogue. I was certain I was going to loathe the established family background, but it helps that they gave us the option to decide if we felt close or distant to them. The psychological analysis REALLY appealed to the roleplay though I would wish for more diversity in personality.
The combat is indeed fun and while I wish for a lot of abilities we no longer have from the original trilogy, it was nice being given more leeway to customize our classes to a more versatile build.
The overall sense I get from the game is that they were playing it safe for a lot of reasons. Should they decide to make a sequel, I'm hoping they'll expand upon this and give us more options.

It's not "bad", it's just ... dull. And when I load it up it still feels dull.

I experienced pretty much the opposite. I played the game to the end because I liked the single player gunplay and constantly expected it to become awesome "any minute now" (it's a BioWare game after all), but the story and characters never did much for me. A few weeks later I came back to it to finish the remaining side quests, but the attempt lasted less than 15 minutes, and I had no desire to go back to the single player since then. It's definitely not a terrible game, certainly not as terrible as the circumstances it was developed in. But somehow the characters never sparked any interest in me, and the story was too bland and space-magicky with a few too many plot holes for my liking. But it's great that you're enjoying it! Besides, the Archon deserves to have his ass kicked at least once.

I had the same feeling.I've played the game when it was out in '17,but i was little dissapointed of it(excepting combat which i found is very very fun compared to the OT).I've started to play again my 3 th gameplay, and I found it pleasent. The game its not bad at all, maybe we were used to the OT but this is something new.Another thing:dont watch reviews on YT,they are really rude with the game. The best review of the game its made by you,the player.

I know my Ryder is no Shepard and that's fine, but why can't she ever stand up for herself! It's so frustrating. Sara Ryder is young, but that doesn't mean she has to be spineless.
I remember being 22. I remember being 22 and having a backbone.
The combat is great though.

The gameplay got boring sometimes. Too repetitive. Dragon Age Inquisition still had a lot of roleplaying elements fitted into a open world gameplay. But Andromeda didn't have the towns, NPCs, interactions, merchants, strongholds, and NPC item customization that Inquisition had.
So really it was an action RPG gameplay wise. That was my biggest problem with it. The story was also not as comparable to the original trilogy. You can see Bioware's political agenda or not-so-subtle SJW messaging. I respect other people's viewpoints, but it ruins the story/immersion when I get bombarded with it during gaming. I play games to not experience real life issues, and Bioware shouldn't have ruined it like that.
All the NPCs and Companions, besides Peebee, were really forgettable. I can't even remember most of their names tbh lol. Generic personalities filled with sameness. Also, there was too little connection to the previous trilogy to keep the hardcore fans interested and hooked (yes I know there was some, but really not enough).
Andromeda didn't feel like a Mass Effect Trilogy game. Andromeda was a different game in and of itself. And that is bad if it is compared to one of the best RPGs ever made.

I feel Andromeda has all of Dragon Age Inquisition's problems but nothing which made that game worth playing despite its problems.

I don't understand why that's a problem? BioWare has always had real life issues in their games: Rape, murder, slavery, religion, racial discrimination.

I liked the last part and will say what I have said to people who either say "I am blind to andromeda's faults or that I hate andromeda"
Andromeda wasn't a bad game but it wasn't as good as the original trilogy. However in my opinion the original trilogy were three of the best games (excluding the last ten minutes of ME3) that were ever made. Yes ME1 has sub par combat and problems but was still a great game for it's time. So saying andromeda wasn't as good as the original isn't an insult like some people seem to think.

I am positive surprised about ME Andromeda - due to all the negative reviews original, I did not buy the game, then it was on offer for around 10 bucks in a local store (MEA 1.10) and wow - and somehow I like the young insecure Ryder, looking forward to many good hours next weeks. The graphics are amazing and I love the semi-open worlds - a thing I wished the original ME had. Over & out - just loaded the Nomad with fresh soft drinks and chips - gonna hunt some ketts

"I think I pissed that one off. Maybe because I shot him in the face." I should never have walked into this goddamn thread. Thank you themikefest . I groaned so loud, I'll probably lose my job. Here's two more, special for you:
"Anyone care to spit over the side?" (Ashley - ME1)
"The tiles remind me of a bathroom floor." (Kaidan - ME1)
... and then, we have:
"What are those, cherry trees?" (Ashley - ME1)
"I like the waterfall. Very soothing.' (Kaidan - ME1)
I think ME:A copied the "silly banter" component of ME1 perfectly. I don't have the exact quote handy, but one of my favorites is Ashley talking about her eyeballs drying out while on Therum.
