So taking on the Arrow testing grounds for the fifth time and praise the lawd I did it!
Still i couldn't sneak my way through much of it as i was again caught on my approach. Lot of frustrating running and gunning followed but I took cover when I had to and stayed patient. Then the heavens parted and the angels started singing as I found it...the very last...Skell crate in the entire base. Fun.
Next up was the...third attempt..at Shark base, with all the Wolves in it. It was actually pretty good this time. I was able to do a WoD and it gave me a friggin gold 416. Which was just amazing. Was able to get everything and sneak out with very little problem and the 416, I am a little amused that the description for the thing is 'highly versitile, the Gold standard.' And its recoil is much more managable then the M4 as long as you don't hold down the trigger too long. Short controlled bursts mofo.
And it is with all this and them releasing the multicam to everyone. My look has been pretty much complete after 65 hours. Got my boonie. Got the Indi Jones shirt. Black from head to toe now with the black multi cam.

So went behemoth and skill point hunting last night. Since I'm max level getting the rest of the skill points and stuff so I can unlock everything and then get on with the game.
And man are behemoths...frustrating. I got like 3 of them and one got me...but. it seems like they are impervious to all damage unless you hit the glowy bits...even rockets. I can understand if it was just armor and it blasted away...but it doesen't seem to.

I hate wasting time. Which is essentially what I did. Had an elite mission to do, a new one so I was like...oh I should go do it and it can be done! And it ended up taking me to...the GD Natural Hazard Center. AGAIN. And to compound the issue didn't even do it, died three times...grr.
The only reason I am even bothering to post is that here I was, sitting up in bed, watching the Unit, and waiting for sleep to take me when it occurred to me. Last time I had four of the btards bull rush me. Before they'd do it one at a time...Ubisoft is making the feckers learn, great as if me soloing wasn't bad enough.
As much as I do like the faction missions, in theory. I really wish they made the change over a week. I mean it makes sense if you can pump multiple hours into it every night but I can't so...yeah...should've mentioned that in the survey I suppose.

So day off from work, XCOM crashed, led to plenty of time playing. I guess the first note of the day is that I got all the Skill points I needed from the BDAs in order to buy every single experience point in the game. And now getting a lot more...but more on that in a bit. I also had a neat mission to hunt down a Sentinel Commander, one of the Faction Missions. I got the guy by essentially missing a shot, then killed the guy, and then the commander came out to check which gave me the chance to take him out. Two shots later and he was quite dead, mission completed. Also did the elite mission for the Outcasts which involved...hacking a computer and defending it...my favorite. I really set up mines all over the area and prepared for a tough fight. Which two of the 6 mines I dropped down in places took out waves of enemy which helped. I used a flashbang and MP5 fire on a third group and it went fairly smoothly. During the next faction mission, again hacking another computer, also took me to doing the side mission 'cover up'. Not much to say about it other then it was a bit fascinating how it was another explanation for one of your pieces of gear, in this case the drone spray. As an aside it might've been interesting to actually make that lore match up with the actual game. IE you wouldn't get these pieces of equipment unless you did these SMs, could've made the Side missions more worth doing and actually fun and meaty. But they had to make the classes unique. Though around this time I have abandoned maxing out Panther and started working on field medic. Its funny took me multiple days and have not finished the tenth level...and now I am already on like level 4 of FM. Having a blast so far. Being a lot more aggressive especially since I crafted another 416, which just happened to be another gold one. Right now I am pushing the faction missions to get the 416 shorty and then the 416 scout through the Field Medic maxing it out will get me the 416 scout. Also going to be going after Paula soon. We'll see. Lots to do in this game still.

So did the two Elite Faction Missions of the day. Both of them were actually quite fun as long as I stayed patient.
On the first attempt I got cornered...and then sniped...in the water tower of sorts place. Second attempt I did something I rarely ever do...I stck to the perimeter instead of specifically looking for the high ground and very....slowly...whittled down the mooks in and around the base. After dodging people for the next few minutes the ground drones finally came out ao I went into the base. (Probably) used up way too much C4 on a turret. And then it occured to me...the drones were in the perimeter i was inside...so there wasn't anything to really stop me from extracting the prisoner. So I did, had to kill a couple of the guards on the way ot.... but it worked. I got him out cackling all the way.
Seonc mission took me to the island off Sinking Country which I had been to before...sort of. Accidentally fell into the surf which forced me to swim around the other side of the island and then back up on the bank, blew the genny, slowly made my way to the sniper tower. I got into an interesting moment with one of the ground drones. I would empty a clip into the thing and then I would throw an EMP grenade at the thing. This rinse washed and repeated until I killed the thing...then the actual computer hacking went very smoothly. It was in a bunker and only helicopters came to me so there was no real threat.

So lets see here. Oh yeah I continued on with the story. Actually I (sort of?) finished the Paula Madera part of the story. Her I like. If I didn't know Nomad had someone waiting for him at home there would perhaps be a bit of shippiness there. More drama with Skell and what exactly is going on with Project Deus, which Cole apparently wants to turn into Minority Report...or something (at least that is where I think they're going with this). But who knows, just a lot of more fascinating layers developping here, Skell is clearly a deeply troubled individual. I also met Ito's brother which was a very cool turn of fate. As far as the missions and the combat itself...lets see. Started off trying to do some of the challenges for the Field Medic...up to level 7. The mission to extract Paula was actually much easier then I would've thought it would. Only two Wolves came after me. I also visited the Auroa parliment which was quite cool and then outside this one area I set up a sniper perch on the roof of the house like 400 meters away. Didn't do too much though since an Azrael spoiled the party. Finished up at the Auroa hospital and I had to go kill a bunch of people in there. This was dramatically unspecific wasn't it. But alas they had the server maintneance last night so I couldn't continue.

As for me and story Rosebud and Flycatcher are dead. Silverback next before going into the wolves den for real.
Last patch has done wonders for stability and a number of glitches for me.

So this game is getting better and better with each patch.
Picking up where I left off to look for Paula's husband which took me right to the Eternity Center. Which was fun. Actually had some good sight lines over looking the place which gave me a good opprotunity to do what I do best. So after slaughtering pretty much everyone in sight with my Barret, including a weird situation where it seemed the goons were crawling up a sheer wall...which made a better sniping position actually...I took care of the heavies...and then got stuck. So the intel pointed me to the 'basement' but I could not find the 'down'. So I went all over the place looking for it. On the sort of entrance in front, on some control towers around the base which was protected by drones and comms people...and then I went to go online looking for the hint...and sure enough it was just in the side of the place, so I just missed it...stairs...leading straight down. The resolution to that quest was a little typical but still well done.
Then onto the other branch of Skell wanting me to look into stuff to convert Madera. Went off to look for information on who bombed the Skell lab in Infinity. Boy was that...interesting...Ito was being a little on the cagey side which sent Nomad off to further investigation. And through a little Skell checkpoint then hunted down more collectibles which led to...Ghost Story, which is a treassure lead and then I got off to Polaris labs. Which was already being attacked.
Fun fact here I decided to craft the Mk. 48...the first LMG I've done. I will say about the tiered loot is it does tend to do what they said it was going to do...and push one outside their comfort zone. It was epic squeezing off a few rounds and watching them just knock back...but both LMGs and SMGs tend to be real ammo hogs.
Which leads to my thoughts on this patch. Haven't noticed too much different yet but I like what I have noiticed. Apparently the garage in a bivouac now starts with something in it, don't know if I can change it. And I was quite surprised crawling around Polaris labs...one of the Sentinel people chucked a grenade at me! I avoided it easily, and I am a bit reticient about the AI getting tougher...but I approve.

The bivouac garage will load with what you used last time automatically, if you go into the garage and chose something different manually you will override it. Did you give Daigoroh his just dessert? Oh and the emerging bioweapon story looks really promising! Some hot shots! Meat shield.
I'm dreaming of a white christmas...

correctamundoBioweapon?! And yeah I think I gave the male Ito a piece of my mind...by poking him in the ribs. So yeah I wrapped up all the stuff with Paula finally. Probably my favorite sequence of the game so far. I really like Paula. (I even am shipping her and Nomad even though I KNOW I SHOULDN'T) And it was a quick little bit with Ito, just had to talk with him, hijack a truck...then get the truck unstuck on a rock...and then move on. Then what followed was one of the neatest and craziest missions ever. Paula was backseat on an gunship where I was going around blowing up her batteries and servers containing her work. Helicopter with rockets blowing the crap out of everything from the air...it was cool. It also became some of Auroa's greatest hits as I actually overflew (and bombed) mission areas that I have done before like the one port with that one boat and the Fuel Storage Depot. And Assembly Hall Omega 02, where the blueprint for the Barret was. I got to an area that apparently I have NOT done, Outpost Red Weasel, and I got way too cute. I didn't want to get into any duels or firefights so I tried to get point blank range on the first server...and a bit too point blank as I crashed into the side of the tent and...yeah. THEN an bombing mission turned into the fight of my life. Paula went down almost immedietly (though it let me heal her) and the whole base was already alerted to me. I had to fight through the area with little in the regards of tactics or planning, beyond healing, ducking for cover when I could, and planning out who to kill. Perhaps coincedentally though I had an LMG...which was pretty awesome. I did get the two servers, dodging Snipers the whole way, and then got Paula up and the game then forced me to steal a helo. But I did have a blast. So... I think I am finally starting to buy into the story fully and it being a good thing that they decided to add more story into the game then in Wildlands. I am curious to see if there is any payoff for this (in the main story or DLC), but I think the main themes of the game are being enforced enough to actually make me confident that they ARE themes. Basically people fucking up in a fucked up world.
So as it turns out the Outcasts and the Ito's were responsible for blowing up a building...which had people in it. It was rather nicely executed to the point where I do believe they had bad information (who gave it to them hmmm) and I believe they were regretful over the whole episode to their credit. But you just have everyone on this damn island seems to be carrying around a lot of regret and making mistakes. And it should be funny that Skell was driving to make his mistakes because the Outcasts made their mistakes which probably also led to Paula jumping ship because of Skell's growing concern and millitarism. The whole thing is borderline Bioshockien without the Would you Kindly bits. It is also telling that this was kind of a sub theme of Ace Combat 7.
Needless to say there is a lot of potential for this game and the more I see the more I think the reviewers/ general public were nuts.

Pretty much all of it. Not that there aren't some bugs and warts to work out. But I've seen one reviewer giving the shit for the Bolivia thing...Breakpoint. It's all about the agenda.

correctamundo Bioweapon?!

The frustrating thing is despite across the board improvements to Wildlands there is still one or two things that could wind up making it an 'inferior' game. But. A: Ubisoft is looking into a fix. B. I am learning to ignore it more and more as time goes on. I forgot to mention: The dialogue option after finding out about what the Outcasts did was the most interesting to date. All three options were really good and had good moral implications. In the end I went with the option that had Nomad say 'good intentions does not justify evil...' And yeah, that is it to a T. I think Nomad, to quote Colonel O'Neill, has probably done some damned distateful things for his country. Hell he has killed 6 civvies on Auroa by accident since landing. he has no room to complain.

I think I went with "I should just kill you" or something like that. Of course I didn't expect Nomad to do something that drastic but wanted to really drive home the seriousness of the situation and the consequences of random act of violence.
Today Nomad is closing in on The Wolves resident serial killer. She also has the time to appreciate the finer parts of Auroa...
Intermission is over - back to work.

So I think I did...three faction missions. Yeah has to be three. Though for the life of me I don't remember...one of them?
Anyways first up went back to the Auroa hospital to hunt for intel on the 'Assassins', a Skell squad was causing trouble. I was happy about going back since I sort of bull rushed the first time. And i found info on the squad and killed them.
Second hunting a Sentinel Commander. I like these missions but I hate how they are usually hiding in buildings or some such nonsense. So was clearing out the camp as carefully as I could, which tripped the alarm and got him to play peekaboo l...I killed him.
Third mission decided to pick off the Elite mission, having to capture a Skell scientist that was under guard by a LOT of Drones and Sentinel. This was a new construction site. I managed to get up on a roof and well I just couldn't find the genny for the base to shut off the turrets. Plus I had a rather unfortunate situation where I just had a Mk. 48 and the D-Eagle...which neither of them are suppressed. Fortunatley someone climbed up after me and I was just able to rush him and CQC him which, thankfully, I got a gold level SNS (probably my favorite SMG in the game). Eventually I just got frurstrated in the situation and started taking themout with the Barret regardless. Then there was a drone just crashing into the building I was on over and over like some kind of malfunctioning RC car, a couple of EMP grenades and some SMG fire took care of it, and then sniped the last two before escaping with the scentist in tow. Had to start on foot for a bit before I ran into an SUV/ Humvee.

And now Silverback is dead as well. Interesting base to infiltrate. Sneaky-beaky like and a lot of body fetching. Shark base next up!

So that bioweapon. Sentinel bastards. I finished up both the Faction Story updates for the Outcasts and the Homesteaders and...well had to go back to AUroa Hospital...AGAIN . Which was still pretty fun though. And just a really good job following along with the ongoing story seeing these people be rescued...to captured...to this. Though it was a bit of a disconnect when I did the Anexexation Elite Mission when Mads was saying how bad it was if a virus hit Erewhon, it already might have! Still that was also a fun little mission clearing out an area so the Homesteaders could move in. On the Outcasts side of things had to go hunt down intelligence provided by a Sentinel Defector, Nomad and her got into it a little bit since apparently he does not really like Sentinel that much. Interesting there is a bit more friction between Outcast and Nomad in light of certain events, but still working with them. Getting back to them though and Sentinel launched a bit of an all out attack on the base which I repelled rather epically. Also had the first big discconect with the paraphrase system and the actual spoken line. I was so convinced that I acidentally picked the wrong line that I went back through the conversation to do it...but that was it. It was over Project Deus. Other than that I finished up with a round of faction missions, picked up the blueprine for the SN-9mm and cleared out the Skell security office.

Lets see here, oh yes the first Elite Faction Mission took me back to Camp Ferret...again. If that is one complaint about them they force me to go to the same areas over and over and over again. I know I have probably mentioned this before. It is also doubly annoying getting into any kind of death cycle when going to these previous bases...though I did get through it with some very interesting sniping. My second Elite Mission...it reset in the middle of it so I did not even get to finish it! Third regular mission took me back to the Fuel Storage Area that I had a lot of fun with. Approached it from the opposite angle and got to sniping. Thought it was a kill order but it was really a capture, thank goodness I didn't accidentally kill him. But pulled off some pretty good sniping work. And then wrapped up with an Assassin Mission which took me to Assembly Hall Omega 01 which is such a fun little area for sniping. Was just going along and then went into the area to get the actual location of the Sentinel Commander. Which was probably one of the best shots I ever have done. Of course the guy just happened to be inside an building and I did not have good vision on him, I could see his legs...pretty much nothing else...but then since I switched back to Sharpshooter I knew I had armor piercing rounds which I equipped and nailed him through the wall in one shot. Then I cleared the base to find the collectibles and unique loot...then I left.

So in the interest of getting as much done as I could last night...I got as much done as I could. Mostly focusing on faction missions.
Though it was an interesting turn of events out in the wild while hunting a Sentinel squad there was this house across from them, perfect sniper nest. In this house was a party gone wrong, people dead everywhere. My curiosity piqued I decided to do it. And it didn't really go anywhere, just to a bunch of illegal moonshiners.
Also I hate the hack and defend faction missions. Please get the AI squad out soon.
