I think you can guess how this story is going to unfold... 3... 2... 1... Nice but a waste, imo. They're not that difficult compared to a certain party you will meet later somewhere else. I reserved most of the fire stuff for that mob.

I've played through the Early Access a number of times already. I bombed this place because it had the room to make a show of it. (Also, I still have at least 6 barrels left. ).

Really, the two most fun things to do in this game are shoving enemies off ledges (bonus points if it's into "the void") and setting the world on fire.

So I wrapped up the goblin storyline today. After the BBQ with Priestess Gut, the Drow boss was next. Nothing fancy here, just lured the one goblin that patrols near the entrance out and ambushed him. Then there's just the Drow and the other Goblin Boss in the room. From there, it's fairly straightforward ambush to take them out. For the Hobgoblin boss, I set up some barrel traps just outside their room and a Spike Growth they had to move through to get out. Then most of us camped up on the opposite ledge and picked them off, popping in and out of stealth. Towards the end, I rolled in a Flaming Sphere to take out a couple of stragglers. I didn't even need all the barrels, so I wound up reclaiming them. Had a little chat with our caged friend, spider to spider... Then one more BBQ at Halsin's prison, and that was that. Finally... party time!

I have a reached a point in the game where it seems nigh impossible to not have someone stand directly in the shot during cinematics/conversations.
Larian should really work on that, cause it's really stupid.

As the Druid class is now, it's, in my opinion, pretty broken. As Hrungr has mentioned, enemies just can't do anything to the Flaming Sphere. Position yourself properly and the sphere can do all the work. The things enemies try to do to the sphere are kinda hilarious. Like throwing fire stuff at it But also the badger form is kinda broken, sometimes hilariously so. Dig yourself through stones? No problem. Pop out of the 'ground' somewhere where there's nothing underneath (like a ledge or something)? No problem. It's just wild teleportation magic with a bonus effect right now.

I'm going to have to experiment more with the Badger. I've played it every now and again, but haven't really tested the edge case stuff. On the Wildshape front, Spiders are also handy. They have a web attack that can catch several enemies that are close together. Then for bonus points, set them all on fire. But yeah, Flaming Sphere is something. Moonbeam is also similarly handy (note the Radiant dmg). Though not as fun as the Flaming Sphere, it does good damage and you can move the Moonbeam around for a total of 10 rounds (just like the FS). Though unlike the FS (which you can roll a long distance away), you cannot move the Moonbeam further than 30 ft from you. So how do you like your BBQ Minotaur...? (It's funny watching them try to ram the FS.)

Though I guess higher level enemies can just dispell it. Is dispelling still a thing?

So I've been playing at this game still. Slowly trying to make my way through. I'm at the hag lair and having a super hard time of it. I'm just not good at this combat and I really hate that every battle has to take so long. I keep trying to push through though because I really like the characters and the story seems interesting. I also can't figure out how to change out my spells or something? It says I need to prepare them but if I rest then try to change them it says I can't prepare anymore? I'm about to throw in the towel :-\ I think maybe there's something I'm just not getting or understanding *shrug* Here is my super cute druid who is crushing on Gale though:

After the Mino-roast, I made a little more headway into the Underdark today. Looted the Zhent cache, and arrived at the Myconid colony. I have to say, I'm still impressed by the Myconid designs - so kudos the Larian there. Picked up all the side quests there, now I'm just debating where to head first. Of course, mining every glowing gem in sight along the way... Those Purple Fluorite Shards add up!

My recommendation would be to watch some tutorials to get better acquainted with its systems and strategies. Even just some core strategies will help boatloads with combat, but it's always best to see them in action. Maybe someone here knows of some good ones? I like your Druid btw!

I might try to watch some videos. I have a really hard time watching other people play games for some reason, but I should probably try since I have no previous experience with these types of games.
Also, thanks about my druid. I tried to base her on my WoW druid who is bluish skinned with green hair

No need to rest. Also, the water rain dancer staff is bugged, so that could be causing issues with your spells if you are using it.

I might have to use flaming sphere more. I only used it in the fight against the ogres and was annoyed that it burned everything down, even after the fight, because it follows you around.

While they haven't implemented a way to release spells that require Concentration yet (that I'm aware of anyway), you could just cast a Cantrip that requires Concentration (eg. Guidance) which will then override it. But even if you didn't, FS should burn out pretty quickly after a fight is over, as they only last 10 rounds max.
