5. [Half-Elf] Two Half-elves walking around together. Everyone's going to think we're cousins. What a stupid dialogue option I'm pretty sure it's a reference to something.

So I saved the Grove, we be having a party. Everyone wants to sleep with me. What the... huh? Even those that have constantly disagreed with everything I've done want to sleep with me. Fanservice for horny teenagers and incels, I guess, but it's kinda ridiculous.
I chose Shadowheart, of course ( ) but everything about Shadowheart makes me wish I had played a Drow instead.

Pushed on a little further in the Underdark this morning. Rescued the dimwit, snagged the flower, looted the nest, then dealt with the Duergar. Nothing fancy this time, just your standard ambush/yeet-fest. Then made a tidy sum mining the hell out the area. Next up, swatting that annoying Land Shark, then off to the tower.

Made my way down to the Kuo-Toa lair, dealt with the delusional fae, then recruited the worshippers. I wonder if they'll actually build you an army in the final game... Next up - the Tower. Pretty straightforward. I used the Spider form to hop down and fire up the elevator. They seem to be able to jump down quite a ways without taking damage. Ofc, I picked up the Chair Leg which was made for the Druid. And there are few things as fun as yeeting Bernard out the window... Finally, I wrapped up the day with one more BBQ, this time with the Spectator as the guest of honor. Few deserve one as much as this guy...

So I wrapped up the Druid PT today (apart from maybe some puttering around). Overall, a very fun class that also... packs a surprising punch. The Druid Wildshape ability was very combat-handy in the early going, but in later levels was used rarely, and then just for utility/special attacks. As we get higher level, with better forms, they might be combat useful again. The smaller animal forms I found to be an issue though. With their limited strength, you have to be prepared to travel inventory-light or you'll have to shuffle a bunch of gear around. As we've discussed quite a bit already, their spell list packs a punch. Combined with the right gear and they can be quite a combat monster. At least in Early Access. This will probably be my last full PT before the game launches. I'm sure I'll pop back in when there's a significant update and try stuff out, but I don't want to play it to the point where I'm sick of it by the time it actually lands. So today was about tidying up the last of the Underdark. Picked up a fancy sword which I don't recall being able to get before... Picked up the Dog Collar because... why not? Free meat is free meat. Dealt with Crazy-Mage and his Hook Horror buddies... And finally, yes... our good buddy the Bulette. I debated for a moment hosting a BBQ sendoff, but I thought... that Wyvern Poison is just going to go to waste if I don't use it here. So we ambushed it in its lair but made sure to hit it with a Sleep Potion before it had a chance to act. Here's another tip - there's at least a couple of Sleeping Potions in the game, and work on anything that isn't immune to sleep. So the Hag, Bulette, whatever... out like a light. Then Lae'zel stepped up with the big poisoned swing on our sleeping beauty for 91 HP damage. And hey... it had actual treasure on it this time!

This might be a really dumb question, but in 7 or so playthroughs I never once managed to find the Kuo Toa. Can someone point me in the direction? I tried finding them using a description, I found online, but I didn't manage to find them.

Hop across the mushrooms down to the alcove, then climb down the wall to reach their lair. If there's any questions, just let me know!

Thank you - tehre it is. I always searched near the Sussur tree for some reason. It's basically outside of the fort. Thanks for showing me

Ya know, I'm just not digging Druid gameplay :-\ I wanted to be more casterish but it seems it wants you to play shape shifter and I don't really care to do it. So....I stopped playing again. I made a ranger which I was enjoying until the patch came along and ended that for me. But I really, really don't want to start over again I feel like I complain a lot about this game when I actually love the characters and am really interested in the story. The game play though man......... ugh

Interesting... my impression was little different. In Levels 1-2, I did lean into the Wildshape gameplay. But by Levels 3-4, it was just the opposite. They are very strong casters once they have access to 2nd level spells (Flaming Sphere, Moonbeam, Spike Growth, Flame Blade). Hell, their Cantrips (Shillelagh, Guidance, Thorn Whip) and 1st Level Spells (Thunderwave, Entangle, Healing, Fog Cloud) are decent. I played my Druid more like frontline, dual-wielding warrior-caster. While all the talk is about the Circle of the Moon, personally I think Circle of Land (Coast) is the better choice.

I absolutely love using spike growth and flaming sphere! I miss almost all the time with thorn whip though, not sure why Maybe I'm not playing as wrong as I thought I was? Sounds like you're getting there! If you can find a good place to hide, you can use Flaming Sphere and Moonbeam on enemies with impunity (until the 10 rounds are over). Flaming Sphere as you know can just keep rolling quite a distance from you. Moonbeam teleports though, which means it can tag hard-to-get-to enemies. They're quite good in melee too, with the right setup. At 1st level and maybe 2nd I might lean on using a Shield, but I'm dual-wielding by 3rd level for sure. A simple club turns into a good weapon using Shillelagh. If you cast Flame Blade you can switch it to your off-hand, then use Shillelagh on your club in your primary hand. It's a very effective melee combo, esp. if you dip your weapons on fire. Bring a candle/torch with every party member. If there isn't a ready fire source nearby already, you can drop your candle and "Dip" your weapons in them to set them on fire. Just note that dropping and dipping both take bonus actions so plan accordingly. Guidance is a Cantrip, which means you can cast it over and over. Thunderwave I get a ton of mileage out of. Great for sending enemies off ledges and can be used as a 1st or 2nd level spell. I always have the Cleric cast Shield of Faith on my Druid. Always be a sneaky bastard and always be the one to strike first! I approach every fight I can from stealth and position the frontliners behind enemies, and ranged ones in places where they can either retreat to stealth or get out of line-of-sight easily. Elevated positions if possible. Continue to walk your melee-types around enemies to strike them from behind.

I normally play druid as a spellcaster with benefits. I choose circle of the land as advanced class and use my spells mostly. If I use an animal firm, it's mostly spider for the Web spell or cat for sneaking. My favorite spells are moonbeam and flaming sword. The sword is really neat and uses wisdom modifier, so my druids suddenly become pretty nice melee fighters, if necessary. I do like druid a lot, probably among my favorite classes (with warlock and rogue).

Any way to kill Dror without setting off all the goblins? You could just hide and roll in Flaming Sphere(s) to deal with him. I usually set up an ambush outside his room, keeping most us up on the ledge across the spider pit, then maybe one one in the drow room. Set up explosive barrels, etc., then pop in and out of stealth.

I even stealthed in a room with no goblins in sight, used mage hand to push him in the pit, camp still went hostile. OAN I was going through the Larian forums for a solution to Dror and I came across an armor mod while going through the posts. www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/58 it unlocks higher tier weapons, armor and most importantly slings and darts for mages/druids who need a ranged proficiency. There's even heavy armor for those tired of using the +16 chainmail or the Githyanki chain. Some really nice pieces to look forward to.

The armor sets look great and they finally gave females pants in all of them, the first draw was a bit different.
About Dror: Just kill him last, you can kill Gut and Minthara without aggroing his group. You only have to destroy the eardrums. Then go to Drors room, talk to him, lay barrels out, if you like and then go above to the ceiling and attack from there.

I'm currently doing two playthroughs, my druid Lyana, she is a wood elf: and my rogue Lyra Belaqua, a half elf:
I started with the more exotic races, like tieflings, githyanki and then halfling and now, I'm doing the fantasy standard - elves and halfelves
I like the talkative skeleton btw.:
I heard some rumours, that he might be
Jergal himself. That would be interesting. I mean, we already have so much god involvment with Mystra (via Gale), Shar (via Shadowheart) and Loviatar (via Abdirak, whom I think, will play a bigger role later on), plus Loviatar
is the consort of one of the Dead Three, who also are rumoured to play a big role, so who knows, what will come up.
I personally like more 'normal' plots - like Hawke getting sucked in to civil war for example, but this could get really interesting. What do you think?

I gave up. I can kill the other 2 with no problems but Dror sets the entire camp hostile. I even stealthed in a room with no goblins in sight, used mage hand to push him in the pit, camp still went hostile. If you're talking about the camp outside going hostile after killing Dror - I think that's scripted with his death (regardless of how sneaky you are). I've messed with some of those armor sets/weapons few months back for fun. Something to look forward to, for sure.

Interestingly enough, the best character/build guides come from the tabletop guys. I'm havin a blast with Shadowheart sneaking the group around and giving Tav a wicked looking combat stealth buff. We don't have all the 5e spells even at level 4 but it's certainly enough to make a big difference during the playthroughs.
