That looks already better than the old D&D movies, they at least went with actual look of D&D monsters and threw a bunch in it.
Displacer beast Gelatinous cube (I wouldn't jump into one personally thought) Owlbear (looks like BG3 version, old D&D version are brown, not white) Mimic Acid spouting black dragon
Also, Michelle Rogriguez is perfect as a Barbarian.

I'm pretty skeptical about this one. Looks like the kind of movies where the interesting scenes all appear in the trailer and the jokes don't land. This could work if they could pull off Thor Ragnarok or Guardians of the Galaxy kind of movie though.

I never bargained with Ethel because I don't trust hags, naturally.
The next area (the place where the EA send you) is in the middle of a Shar worshipper's curse. Plenty of shadow magic around, but the person responsible wasn't
About the movie trailer: I think, there are some good things like creatures (dragon variety fro example) and they seem to get the spells right, but I hate the lack of variety in the group - we have one tiefling and I think an elf, but the rest are boring humans. And I'm worried, that it might be too Disney - Marvelesque - not a fan of that. But I wil lreserve juedgment until the movie is out. The variety is already down teh drain of course, but mabye the rest will be good.

This player has too much time on his hands. 🤣😛
Larian Studios are infamous for putting in movable objects to attack / defend / for fun entertainment and using the environment to your advantage for their games. Where can you find another studio like that? 😁
I spend hours gathering all the wine barrels that can be found in EA, then sneaking them around them gith patrol and lighting them up. BOOOOM!!!! 😁

I really don't know what to make of BG III as I was never really able to get into DOS or DOS II as much as I tried. Wait and see when/if the full game ever comes out. How long as it been in early access again? Sorry to sound so pessimistic but I have my doubts BG III will ever reach a full release.

They'll get there.
It's definitely more work than they were expecting, but think the long Early Access process has been invaluable to Larian. I can only imagine what the state of the game would be like if they hadn't gone through this process.
I seem to remember them saying something like... they're well in building the City of Baldur's Gate now. Maybe someone can find the exact quote.
Patch 9 will be out soon, which should also add either the Paladin or Monk.
I'm hoping we'll see 3rd level spells as well, but... not holding my breath.
I don't remember the exact quote, but I remember something about Act 2 being actually done or near done around patch 8 release. They split the early access a few patches ago (last in 2021) and they have to port over the things they want tested now and update the engine.
There are 3 things we know they want to test in early access before release: - two classes: Paladin and Monk - Multiclassing - new reaction system
They might throw in another race too, a recent comment suggested it might happen, but they want to keep some content for release. Some things in Act 1 might even be different.
And the patch 9 branch now exist on Steam so that's coming.
I think they are aiming for a late 2023 release, but if the game is as bugged as the early access it might go into 2024.

Right now, I'm just hoping BG3 & DAD have some breathing room between them...
Same. It sounds like DAD is aiming for late 2023, and I think it would be in both studios' best interest not to release in the same quarter. They've got to anticipate that they'll be competing for essentially the same market share.
I'm planning to get both games eventually, but if they come out at the same time DAD is going to be the one getting my money. BG3 looks amazing so far, but there's a much greater potential for disappointment there for me personally since I love the first two games so much. I enjoyed the mechanics and scope of the Divinity series, but the story and characters were secondary to the gameplay for me. (I honestly feel like Icewind Dale 3 would have been a better fit for Larian's style, but that series doesn't have the same brand recognition as BG does.) Dragon Age, on the other hand, has already disappointed me once with DA2, and at least I know the potential for an exciting mix of story and gameplay is possible with Bioware.
I'm rooting for Larian, but the bar is set so high and they keep upping the ante. I've been reading the patch notes as they've been released (not playing Early Access to avoid spoilers and bugs), and each time I'm both impressed and terrified by the sheer number of mechanics they're putting into this game. I really hope they can pull it off, but I'm definitely going to be waiting for a few post-release patch cycles before purchasing.
