Why Mind Flayers? Anything, but Mind Flayers! Probably the one thing I hate the most!
Camera is a bit weird. Not enough zooming out. No difficulty settings yet. No Monk class, gah.
Otherwise the game looks good and runs well. Loading seems to be a bit slow.
Picked a Half-Elf Paladin. I never get far playing a Paladin. They are boring. I think I will mix it up and try to be a weird Paladin build to see if he survives.

5e should theorically allow players more freedom in playing paladins a bit differently from their standard version (putting aside the Oathbraker subclass), but I'm not sure how well it's translated in BG3, as the way I read how it works it might be difficult to regain said freedom.
Maybe the Oath of Vengeance subclass might provide for such.

What do you guys think?
I don't feel the need to change the origin char classes when they're being companions, but if they're not customisable when they're being the main character then I'm never gonna play one.
I'd like to see customisation of pc origin's appearance, and limited customisation of race and class based on their story. Eg Gale probably has to be a wizard but does he really have to be human? And Astarian seems like he could be any class but as a noble is presumably part of a specific noble family meaning he needs to an elf as well as a vampire spawn. (I'd like to change gender too but I'm assuming the voice acting precludes that)

In DOS II, the Origin characters' class and appearance can be customised but not their race as there are key points in the main story and the origin characters' personal stories that is tied to race. There is likely no origin character customization in BG3 as there are cutscenes (DOS II has none) and the origin characters' histories are already determined and set.

That fight in the Adamantine forge was tough. Took me a while to figure I can and should turn on the lava back again. But I could almost beat the encounter without the forge mega slap. My two hammer wielding characters really went to work.
And then got to the end of Early Access. I like most things, but not all. Hopefully the difficulty can be tweaked as certain fights required a bit of cheesing...and were too long. Some puzzles weren't intuitive.
But the characters are fun and the pacing is nice. Would love to see the consequences of the tadpole. I guess the first time I will reject it entirely, even use the ring that affects it.
