Resurrected ? She didn't die as far as I know.
OK, used as a character in a future ME, if u prefer.
Well, I don't discard the possibility of somehow seeing Kasumi in the future... maybe... perhaps. I'm of the humble opinion that perhaps we should let those characters rest and perhaps focus a bit more on the Andromeda Galaxy.

Well, I don't discard the possibility of somehow seeing Kasumi in the future... maybe... perhaps. I'm of the humble opinion that perhaps we should let those characters rest and perhaps focus a bit more on the Andromeda Galaxy. I loved MEA but I don't see it going anywhere. BW didn't even bother tying up loose ends. Using a book to handle a lingering plot shows a disinterest on their part. Besides, it's been three years. It took five years to put out the OT. We know a new ME game isn't coming anytime soon. That said, I'd probably set aside the original cast. Any of them could be dead by the end of ME3. The real trick is creating a compelling character who isn't a copy of Shepard. Ryder didn't go over well because he wasn't Shepard, even though I loved the character. Some kind of balance is necessary to appeal to both groups.

If they do, Tis only because so many hetro males complain about how the Women aren't small enough, or big boobed, or they have manly features. Or have manly haircuts. Or aren't tall enough. Should I go on?!

I don't think so. It's a nice option to have and helps flesh everything out. I haven't played Andromeda yet, so I can't comment on how they work there, but other ME and Dragon Age games, I enjoy them as an option.

I don't think they regret it. It's almost a specialty of theirs now. But... I do regret it juuuuust a tiny bit. I think some people have projected too much of themselves and their personalities and expectations into these romances; at the same time, these people haven't given the developers enough space or freedom to create stories without the fear of some sort of angry backlash. For example: My favorite romance of all time in a Bioware game is probaby Morrigan's. It has it all: flirting, friendship, seduction, sex, fighting, deceit, breakup, jealousy, betrayal and love. It has everything I could ever want from a romance and the best part of all ? It serves the story.
Morrigan does what she believes she has to do, she makes an incredibly difficult choice and has to make terrible sacrifices to see it through, all to achieve her own dark agenda. But some people were angry: Why does Morrigan leave ? Why did she betray me ? Why did she left with my child ? Why did she dump me ? Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why This obviously puts Bioware in a bad position: they either make a good, insightful, interesting story with a romance to serve it... or they please their fans and have them getting married and having kids with their created character... which is not always the most interesting option out there for a story that could challenge their audience. Sometimes Bioware goes an extra length to hurt some of the themes in their own stories while pleasing their own fans, like what happened during DAI when "The Warden was looking for a way to cure his taint and be with Morrigan and their child" which, forgive me for saying but... ...it's the stupidest shit ever I'm sorry, I don't want to create a toxic discussion nor would I ever think of insulting writers whose talent I simply adore and praise to absolutely no end. I would be the most fortunate videogame nerd in human history were I ever to get a job as the assistant to an assistant writer at Bioware, that is just how much I love them and their work. But that was a bad call, they dumped an important aspect of the Grey Warden sacrifice simply to "make the fans happier". Maybe it's not such a big deal but it does make me concerned about what type of stories Bioware can tell when they have to constantly balance challenging and interesting writing with "fan happiness"

I have no issue with notion of warden seeking to cure the taint and be with their lover. Equally I would have had no issue if they actually had the stones to have them have their calling. What I did find stupidly poor was the whole Kieran resolution. Makes the whole dark ritual a joke.
I hope bioware doesn’t regret being the standard bearers for introducing romance into rpgs which has been a vast improvement in the experience imo despite the sneering of some.

I hope bioware doesn’t regret being the standard bearers for introducing romance into rpgs which has been a vast improvement in the experience imo despite the sneering of some. I understand your point, I don't want to diminish your preferences or your interpretation of the story. But imagine if there's a cure for the taint: then wardens can live to old age and die in their beds. Now if this was the real world it would be a rather wonderful thing, but since this is fiction, what that actually does is diminish the value of the Grey Wardens and their story. If they can be cured and they can quit their job, then where does that leave the ultimate sacrifice and the vow they make ? With the taint, every Grey Warden is destined to die a gruesome, horrible death in service of the people of Thedas. That has meaning, that is a powerful statement about who the Grey Wardens really are; they're not people who will ever find peace or love or stability. They will die, violently and horribly. I will agree however, that Bioware shouldn't regret doing romances... standard bearers is a fitting term for just how good they've become at that feature. We have to admit however, that some of them would rather make beautiful, tragic stories than trying to write a fantasy wedding for some people

Just as fixing the tranquil changed things. At the least especially given the whole dark ritual it seems logical the warden might not just be down with just accepting conventional wisdom. Equally they could end up getting ripped apart if solas feeds them whatever proof he has about the true lack of nobility in their goal.

At the least especially given the whole dark ritual it seems logical the warden might not just be down with just accepting conventional wisdom. Equally they could end up getting ripped apart if solas feeds them whatever proof he has about the true lack of nobility in their goal. An excellent point if that story point was done, as you describe, in service of a greater narrative. But given what people complained about, is it likely that Bioware had a plan for that ? I don't believe they did, it was mostly done to placate fans who might see a sour end to the relationship between the warden and their origins LI, and that to me is a mistake. I think it's a sweet and beautiful thing to ponder and consider that our life is brief, that our time is short, that those we love are not going to be there forever, and that one day... without any notice whatsoever... our end might come, wether it comes by duty or love, the end comes all the same. *wipes tears* But as you say, if it was written as part of a greater plot to "destroy the wardens", that would be pretty cool.

I mean, finding cures for the incurable and stopping the unstoppable are kind of central tropes of fantasy.
When someone at the start of any fantasy game tells you something as definite as "xyz is impossible", you should already expect that to be contradicted later.
