Dragon Age The Veilguard Criticism Thread (formerly Skepticism Thread) [Spoilers]

Yes I heard about that but personally it doesn't come off particularly flirty to me? They just seem to have a good report because of their cities and how the story ties them together in a way instead of making them hate each other for it. But I guess if people are super nosy about each other that could count as being romantically interested. Obviously they ARE supposed to be into each other conceptually since they get together if Rook doesn't snatch one of them. But I personally have no issues with how they talk when Rook is in a relationship with either of them. Just really think it's weird game design that this is not a conversation Rook can be part of. I mean, wouldn't one of the first things a normal person asks somebody they're getting to know be how they ended up in profession X? Unless it's implied Rook already knows since they worked with Varric for a while and probably got briefed on Neve and the others. Still, from a narrative perspective for the player it doesn't work for me. Rook is just always just there listening in on everyone else getting close...

Because apparently being a leader means making the hard choices, and being a parent and not a friend. Or something.

Padding

Playing purple Hawke is amazing, I get to hear the funniest stuff written in the game the whole time I'm playing it. And somehow the companions, even if they are at each others throats, feel like family in DA2. Side quests are good too, and that makes the game great in my book.

Veilguard banter is just office water cooler talk.

I would sacrifice almost all other characters for the Dog, but I would have to save Morrigan and Shale as well.

the dragon age origins cast is so good that id save them all if possible - including Zevran even tho he be my least favorite character in Origins. 

LOL. Not me. Fallout opened my eyes that all I ever wanted was to build shanty towns with leaky roofs for everyone... Wait, what's that about my son? Nevermind him, these ghouls deserve better, let me build them the best place in all of the Commonwealth!

Ghouls aren't people, unless I like one of them. Then they can be. But my ultimate Fallout game will forever be FNV, so no building anything, just surviving in the absolute horrid wasteland.
