What do you guys think of the faction and other side quests? Other than the memories of Solas quests I found them to be extremely boring and lame

The thing with Anders is when he approved of selling a companion into slavery, a companion that never gave him up and had every reason. Especially if you consider Fenris’ background. I lost all respect for Anders after seeing that. And like many others realized something in him was broken irreparably. Great and fun character. I had issues with Fenris and his mage hatred. I never sold him out, but I liked that the option was there.

I just think he is a fanatic and a terrorist and a big part of the problem I think a lot of what anders says in DA2 in relation to the mage rebellion are Justices ideas - not his own.

LOL. Not me. Fallout opened my eyes that all I ever wanted was to build shanty towns with leaky roofs for everyone... Wait, what's that about my son? Nevermind him, these ghouls deserve better, let me build them the best place in all of the Commonwealth! Ghouls aren't people, unless I like one of them. Then they can be. But my ultimate Fallout game will forever be FNV, so no building anything, just surviving in the absolute horrid wasteland. Fallout nazi, lore friendly! NV was awesome but the base building itch never went away. Sigh.

Why is this game so long again for a non open world mission based game??? I feel like since Weisshaupt barely anything plot important has happened and that was over 40h ago... Im 60h in, the main story quests are quite nice but the endless companions quests are so boring. Come to think of it, I really wanted more companion content and quests in all previous games and get to know them better outside of romances too, but if Bioware really can't think of anything interesting to write except for that meaningless fluff then it would have been smarter to reduce the amount of really random companion quests VG. Me too. It's just waaaay overkill. I thought I wanted endless companion content before but I was wrong. This is a cozy friendship simulator they somehow decided to put alongside loomimg armageddon. MAKES SENSE.

The Veil Jumpers fell down a well! ...so yeah, they're not great. The whole game is very videogamey which sounds like an absurd criticism but just how arbitrary the "whatever faction Rook personally doesn't aid is unable to function" and "Rook if you want to continue you have to do companion quests now".

NV is when I started loving playing a maniac. I played a drug fueled imbecile, quite trigger happy. The Vegas strip was never quite the same after I was done with it.

There are indeed a lot of companion quests, in case you want to make every single one of them as Heroes of the Veilguard. I think those quests altogether may account for over 20 hours of gameplay. I personally think those quests are fine - some are even excellent - but Bioware should have balanced them with a little more romantic intimacy (which could be counted in seconds in this game), or some good humor, etc. I know comparisons to BG3 are getting old, but then again, BG3 is a game that you spend even more time doing companion quests, but there is so much more to those quests that they don't feel like a grind at all.

NV was boring AF I forced myself to finish it. Crucify me NV is the game I'd take with me to a desert island, so, yes, I hate you and all you stand for. That's FO4 for me as a creative sandbox. Sorry! I always meant to replay NV and go full evil. Apparently I was missing out. BG3 is when I finally went fully deranged and loved every second of it. Never got round to it in NV. Maybe I should. Regardless, I will forever remember and cherish NV as the most realistic contemplation on power I've ever seen in a videogame. There I was thinking I was doing the wasteland a favor getting rid of the Yesman army so that everyone could be free from tyranny. What happened? This created a power vacuum, and now all the little monsters that the Legion kept in check started running amok terrorizing everyone, lol. That was realistic, I loved it!

Im 60h in, the main story quests are quite nice but the endless companions quests are so boring. And their approval is also meaningless to the ending, you don't even need to chase it, you just have to do their quests. There are very few things they can even disapprove of. Possibly the system was meant to do something and then they scrapped it as anything other than a communication tool to the player that the character liked or disliked something they did.

I went into NV thinking I'd support the NCR, but my guy ended up with the Legion. I didn't even mean to go evil, it just happened. That's why it's the game of my life for me, the options, the roleplay ways you can go! I do also love my Durge in BG3, but FNV will never not amaze me, and it's so.... cozy at the same time. I feel like i'm a part of that world, raiders, radscorpions and all.

FNV will never not amaze me, and it's so.... cozy at the same time. I feel like i'm a part of that world, raiders, radscorpions and all. FO4 is cozy for me too, Bethesda games (and NV) were so good at making you live in that world. I love Fallout to death. So many possibilities to roleplay, especially with mods. Then Starfield happened and I want nothing to do with Bethesda anymore. Losing both Bethesda and BioWare as my go to RPG people really sucks. But at least we've got Liaran and I still have faith in CDPR.

What do you guys think of the faction and other side quests? Other than the memories of Solas quests I found them to be extremely boring and lame They mentioned they're focused on quality this time, but so far; most of them are kind of like Mass Effect Andromeda. There is zero ambiance. Follow quest marker, kill enemies, follow quest marker, etc. Andromeda at least had a bit of sense of mystery and scope, there was a better flow with main story and quests. The whole world is incredibly small, constant teleporting from Light House to few locations that really don't feel lived in. All the factions, from villains to allies, seem caricaturish. Only sensible, normal person is that First Grey Warden asshole lol.

Generic boss fights, almost kisses if romanced, arbitrary use of another companion in a scene to pretend there's connection...

I only saw "greatly disapproves" once and it was a certain choice in Weisshaupt. why the First Warden be so incompetent lol I like the First Warden because to a point he's rightfully doubtful of Rook and not just immediately like "ok I believe you", unfortunately he's not believing Rook about something there is very obvious evidence for and therefore just comes off incompetent and unnecessarily obstructive to be "proven wrong" by Rook and company. And I guess blight magic.
