So what's the hate on Andromeda all about?

For the record, I still have more hours clocked in Andromeda SP than in MP, I only play the MP to understand why it's so bad. No one plays MP exclusively, it's just an existing part of the game that people are drawn to through SP or the SP of the previous games. And as a part of the game, it can be a subject of critique and evaluation, you can ignore it but no one has to and for those who don't, the quality of MP is a valid topic.

ME3MP is damn good by the way, much better than ME3SP.

Do I understand it right that you played without the Earth and Retaliation DLCs?

2000 hours on PC in Europe and I've only ever met one player like that, commonly believed to be an Australian. Is the culture you're describing some US XBOX thing like the famous Modern Warfare 2 lobbies?

Memes are all very well, but when it's all based upon a single track, and never deviates - when every single meme is based upon animations, animations and animations it gets (for me at least) tiresome in the extreme.

It got to the point where I simply stopped reading any internet posts about the game, because every single one was just a variation on: "OMG animations, animations, animations, animations....." and it was getting ridiculous, tedious, and ultimately just plain annoying.

Yes, the animations upon release sucked - some of the animations still suck even after the patch, that's how it is. Andromeda is a flawed game.

My original point was there was, and is, far more to criticise than just animations. Even if the animations had been perfect the game would still have been flawed by dint of many of the mechanics, quests and story elements - but at the same time there's also a lot that the game did well. I just wanted to talk about all this, rather than one million identical diatribes about animations.

I don't like the word hate. Hate implies emotion, instead of a dislike with reason.

All of the actual faults this game had can ultimately be traced back to BioWare Edmonton shunting the Mass Effect IP over to the ‘New Kids’ at Montreal so the main team could make…Anthem. Yeah some of the dialogue is cringey, but then, go back to ME1. I’d rather have cringey-ish companions than exposition-bots.

People continue to unfairly compare this ONE game to an entire TRILOGY’s worth of content, it’s beginning to make me irate. Compared to Mass Effect 1 alone it is leaps and bounds better in most areas and some quality dlc and more time to iron some things out and patch would have made it truly special. But no, the naysayers went and ruined it, never giving it a chance, so BioWare gave up, shuttered Montreal and proceeded to focus on Anthem.
