Its totally dangerous to allow 100% free speech in a society. I guess some americans will always disagree with me but i don´t care. "A let thousand / millions people die statement should never be allowed. And speaking of dictatorship denying the Holocaust (which could only be theoretically very far-fetched as free speech) is a real crime which will be punished in many european states.
So yeah i also really hope you never get a position of authoriy. It´s impossible because she has so less screentime but you can´t also prove it where she is a nice person.
And doing her job as reporter or TV Anchor doesn´t make her unsympathetic. She wants some scoops from Shepard and that´s all.
Congratulations, you support snuffing out the things that led to women and minorities of all kinds actually getting rights. Also since you Godwin Law’d this, depending on who won them it would be illegal to speak bad of the Holocaust. That’s a far worse crime that a few people being idiots. Thank you for proving my point and agreeing with me. For the record I also believe Emily is genuinely nice, as is Diana. Even Khalisah’s heart is in the right place as we see, And in MEA Keri is probably a better person than any of them. They have yet to have a reporter who is a bad person. Uh... you turned it into "Goodwin". And yes, Germany doesn't allow Holocaust denial. The U.S. does, though I don't know about anything state-related. Care to go on a rant about "freest of the free free"? The slippery slope here is at which point "few idiots" turn into more or get outsized influence.
The thing with people critisising reporters in ME in my view is if they are acting in good faith. Khalisah isn't until the coup as far a I see it. Even that exchange with her early game veers too much into "humanity-first!!!!!1" territory for my liking. If that bad faith is on her personally or her employer's stance is a different matter.

I believe that we can all agree in world that a 4th Reich can never be a thing. Won´t it be interessing to find out who the real Khalisah is?
I mean for her Humanity first thinking she has no problems to kiss or even slept with an Asari.

<old enough to remember a certain journalist drawing American positions in the sand on live TV during the 1st Gulf War> Consequently I don't always let a reporter on the Normandy for the sake of my crews' safety.

Please explain. I know the Hong Kong situation, but not what you’re implying. Isn´t that obvious? China is denying the citizen of Hong Kong the right of free speech. And therefore its the duty for every American to protect the 1st amendment. But Europe isn´t China you can still say almost everything you like where.

I can see the easy counter argument for this but I can just see Allers doing a live segment in the middle of a battle or when the Normandy is sneaking around a system. Hell correct me if I am wrong because its so long since I have played Cameron but doesen't she make a reference to doing just that? "Live from the Hades Gamma Cluster!" Harbinger: Oh really?! Even if it would not give away the Normandy's position actively its also more intel the Reapers don't need on the Normandy's movements.

I feel like this argument borders on Strawman hood...though maybe this is because I do not fully understand it...but a lot of individual Americans while being strong supporters of the first ammendment may not just go off to Hong Kong and force that on anyone involved in that particular situation. We will just use it as a case study on why the First Ammendment is so important...even the nasty bits.

Except in this case you’re more on the side of China than Hong Kong. (Not the first thing you and they agree with either) Also being American has nothing to do with it. America has certainly a checkered past on the subject. Looking at history, censorship never ends well. Ever.

I believe strongly that even the freest society in the world you shouldn´t be allowed to say whatever to like. There have to be rules for some rare cases like the the Holocaust or any other deny of proven facts from crimes against humanity.
So yeah censoring those false facts and keep the Nazis down is never a bad thing and will always end well.

forbidden fruit effect. Banning stuff does not stop that stuff but only keeps it underground with the added benefit of making it more attractive because you are banning it. No issue should be too taboo to not be discussed on the battlefield of ideas. Logic and reason will carry the day, not censorship and bans.

No issue should be too taboo to not be discussed on the battlefield of ideas. Logic and reason will carry the day, not censorship and bans. You still can buy Mein Kampf and watch dozens of Hitler documentaries in Germany. And finally Nazi symbols in games are nowadays fine if the game setting is against nazism.
But denying the truth? That should be punished with some prison time. This horror had happened and its all of our duty (especially Germans) to not allow that could ever happen again. By the way have anyone ever visited a former concentration camp / KZ like Auschwitz-Birkenau? So yeah its quite stupid that America is allowing Idiots to deny the Holocaust with their 1st amendment. I think its pretty disgraceful to say that to all of the victims of the Shoah and american / allied soldiers who liberated the camps.

Diana REALLY should've thought that her opinion would bring down the morale of the Normandy crew. Sure it's her opinion but during wartime when your SPECIES IS GETTING WIPED OUT, she really should consider the consequences of what she's saying.

Maybe we are getting the next patch the following week or pretty soon. And perhaps Bioware will announce at the EA Play (i know they won´t show anything) that the ME 3 MP is official coming to Legendary Edition.

The amount of news and engagement is exactly what I would expect for a ten year old game. Diana REALLY should've thought that her opinion would bring down the morale of the Normandy crew. Sure it's her opinion but during wartime when your SPECIES IS GETTING WIPED OUT, she really should consider the consequences of what she's saying. Indeed. My Dad taught me someone has a right to their opinion but we do not have to provide them a place to say it.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but they're supposed to be developing 2 games, one of which has been in development for something like 6 years now. At least Anthem had a fake trailer about what the game was, by now.

Three things: 1. That’s not what I said at all. Also ironic since you think her giving her opinion is the same as denying the Holocaust. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. 2. Pretty sure part of what you said is insulting a group. So according to the rules here and your beliefs you should be punished. 3. As mentioned above, it won’t keep them down. They just stay hidden until the opportunity presents itself. Diana REALLY should've thought that her opinion would've bought down the morale of the Normandy. She never said sacrificing Terra Nova was fine, *personal attack redacted*. She was arguing ruthless calculus, same as many other characters on the Normandy like Garrus who has multiple conversations on the subject.
