I don't like the implication of Andromeda being abandoned. As well BioWare's firm stance of "NO CANON ENDING" to be walked over does not help with trust issues I have with the company. Mister Pimplicious@reich_the "I can't say I'm not excited, but Bioware just abandoned Andromeda. This is not good, some of us connected with Ryder and crew. Bioware just slapped us, and gave us candy." Michael Gamble@GambleMike "I think you should wait and see " I like Micheal Gamble.
But I still have trust issues with company he works for.

While the Liara scene could just be symbolic, it‘s either that, so it’s not showing Andromeda, or it’s showing a MW planet, because she’s literally walking on a dead Reaper. That’s not speculation, it’s confirmed by Gamble himself. The N7 bit, is definitely weird and I think could be constructed as a ‘homage’ to Shepard, or to reference the flag of the IP, unless they truly want to bring Shepard back.

So, you believe that in that shot, the new PC would’ve been hidden from the viewers? Interesting. I think in general being something about her remembering Shepard, as well as a nod to the N7 symbolism, is possible. I just can’t believe that after two years of a limbo for the new DA4 protagonist, the same it’s going on for NME.

In terms of ‘hype’ I think the teaser generated a lot overall, because people are expecting a sequel to ME3, although some are also excited about the prospect, suggested by Gamble, of a sequel to both ME3 and MEA. I suspect the moment the main protagonist and a vague idea of the main story will be revealed, the situation will change.

Let's keep our hopes up. It could be a million things as far as we know: parallel realities, a completely different galaxy, a Liara look-alike, Liara hunting an N7 operative in Andromeda. I'd like to hear more about who exactly is involved. Casey Hudson is no longer on board, then who exactly is leading the charge ? Mac Walters again ? Amazing writer but not sure he's the best material yet for lead designer. Someone else ? If so, then who ? Bioware is claiming this is a team of veterans after all. Personally, I'm having a right proper giggle at the thought that people believe Casey returned in 2017 to direct games when he was the GM for Bioware as a whole. Sure, he could have given some advice on Mass Effect, but that would be the extent of it, to be honest. Michael Gamble has always been the man in charge of this new game, for as long as I can remember. Mac Walters is in charge of LE. And there are a few good names in the team, confirmed by Gamble himself: Derek Watts, Parrish Ley, Brenon Holmes, Dusty Everman. And it's possible Preston Watamaniuk may be working on this game as well, considering his Twitter header is the N7 Day concept art and his bio says "Game Director". Awesome news then.

I would've preferred if they showed it later cause it's too early imo. This can be good and at the same time not, many people will be overhyped and might be disappointed at the end.... I don't understand though. He says to look and hear closely and we will understand where they want to go. From what i remember mac walters said they can continue after me3, or after Andromeda. It's quite vague now cause although it leans more for mw setting, it has references to andromeda too and might connect these two... Mw references are more though but it seems like the events go in chronological order. The trailer shows us an older liara. It could take place 600 years after me3 just like andromeda was 600 years in the future. It seems like she's looking for something or someone(probably the pathfinder?). Also the three figures at the mudskipper could be her team, but it seemed like she's alone and she was flying with a shuttle, and then found these guys. If it's a new pc and they abandon ryder and co even if it's Andromeda or mw or both of them, it won't be the same for me.

I'm legit asking, because I don't remember. Had they announced the Inquisitor as well? Or is the DA4 protagonist the first time they've done it? With DA2’s reveal, they clearly talked about Hawke. My memory is murky for DAI, especially because we got lots of leak about it, but I think after The Fires Above trailer they did mention in the blog the Inquisitor. For MEA, they almost certainly didn’t, but people were expecting a new character. With Tresspasser, they created a situation where people weren’t sure if we’d get a new protagonist or not, which was ‘resolved’ only in the last week. With NME, I guess people would’ve expected Ryder, or maybe a return to Shepard. But with a teaser and tweets that suggest a connection between the trilogy and Andromeda, we’re now back in a limbo in regards of the protagonist. Not knowing the name is fine (we still don’t know DA4’s). It’s being back in an uncertainty about what protagonist we’ll get, a new or old one, after the same thing just ended for DA4, that it might get tiring, especially given the long wait ahead of us.

So me and my friends and had a discussion and we got to the idea that this teaser trailer might be set like over 600 years after ME3, around when MEA events are ongoing. Which is possible, since Liara would still be much younger than her mom and "dad" were during ME trilogy. There could be a plan to connect Andromeda and Milky Way via Mass Relays, if they could be re-activated. I think it was Andromeda Initiative goal to do that eventually, once setting up in Andromeda and then build own Mass Relay to connect with Milky Way.

Well, we still have years to go before release. True, but this is all new kind of vagueness, for a sequel at least. Even with DA4 teaser and the protagonist debate, we did know after the teaser that a major part of of the game will be about Solas. Well circumstances are different.
DAI ends with Solas' mysterious departure, then followed up in Trespasser that he plans to end the world of Thedas to bring Elves back to their former greatness, just without would-be Elven gods.
ME3 ends with ultimate objective of defeating Reapers( R, B or G flavor), or Reapers winning. Meanwhile Andromeda ends rather openly, with a lot of unanswered questions.
So yeah, in DA4 it is very clear Solas will be the main point as build upon with DAI and Trespasser. The next ME game meanwhile can go at a lot of directions. So BioWare can be a lot more vague.

I thought the same thing at first (concerning Liara and her age) but somehow I doubt it. The broken Mass Relay and reaper imply (at least IMO) that this takes place shortly after ME3's ending.
Also, the radio transmissions we hear seem to start in the past and are coming closer to 2186 as we move through space with the reaper sounds and that "anyone receiving this" at the very end. That to me also implies that the teaser at least is not supposed to jump too far into the future.
But those are just my impressions.

Are Mass Relays repaired in Destroy ending? Post-Destroy, civilizations still have FTL but now travels that could take in hours are like months long. Well give or take, it was never truly confirmed.
So it could be 600 years after, people still haven't figured out how to repair Mass Relays or they did but takes a lot of time and resources to do that. So there are still broken Mass Relays around left due to no being priority and/or just not (re)discovered yet.
As for radio transmissions? Meh, it's clearly meant for nostalgia for us the fans.

No, because the N7 piece Liara finds is not buried under 600 years of sediment. Objects don't just sit on a surface that long. Plus, physics dictate that the spinning mass relay debris was recent. If it was 600 years, they'd be more or less stationary like the ship graveyard at the Omega 4 relay.

This is the new crew, in the Milky Way. You will get to see some of Andromeda and its former cast and crew. They won't be at the frontstage of the game, but they will be there. Anyone holding out for a direct ME3 sequel with anyone from ME3, other than Liara, can give up already.

I'll take a pass on BioWare going hard with science with a teaser trailer or anything cinematic related.
