I think they are going to try and combine the Andromeda and Trilogy games into one new sequel. At the start, we see two galaxies. In addition, at 0:32, there is mention of "Ark 6 is away". Which refers to the Quarian Ark from MEA. They would not put those sort of mentions and imagery if they did not intend to converge the two story arcs together ... I hope you're right.

I actually think this trailer is better put together than the DA4 one. It evoked some excitement and wonder as I watched it. Although part of that was it being unexpected. Even better than #dreadwolfrises teaser 2 years ago. And even that teaser had me shaking with excitement.

Mike Gamble said there's lots to unpack in the teaser and to listen closely to what's said in it. Hopefully someone will dissect the teaser closely.
I guess the possibility of uniting the two plots and stories is there. I just can't see how. We'll see.

I have no idea what this actually means.
...Beyond new Mass Effect. And stastically, I'm likely enjoy that, no matter what they go with. They're four for four on my little serotonin box.
Since the game's very early, it wouldn't surprise me if it's Liara. Eyebrows, freckles, checks out. But it ALSO wouldn't surprise me if it's a different asari. I want Andromeda 2. Part of what makes Mass Effect for me is the "series with the same characters" aspect. It keeps me coming back to it, and it'll salt my tea if Andromeda doesn't get that. ...But even my least favorite Mass Effect content (Pinnacle Station) has brought me an iota of joy, so I'll buckle in for it.
It's like the XCOM franchise for me at this point. I know I'm liable to enjoy it even if the initial concept has me going "The heck are they doing?"

Nice little surprise. Will be interesting to see where they go from here. Will certain choices be made canon if it's a sequel? Will Shepard once again be spared from death's door. Or will we finally become the grand BIOTIC GOD VOLUS that the galaxy requires!

Hope you're right about that. The game could include in some (difficult to me) way both plots and groups of characters...but there's no doubt in my mind that's Liara. The fact that they decided to show her is telling, to me, but anything it's possible, at this point. I do feel bad because for lots of people, because for both DA and ME my main concern is about having games that are mostly rooted in the kind of Bioware games I want. While I'm going to criticize plotholes or dumb storyline decisions (which, to be fair, could very well happen with a ME4), I'm fine with both Milky Way and Andromeda, Inquisitor or new PC. I do get that for some the decisions could be deal breaker.

My stance is that there is too little there to really judge what is going to happen and I probably won't really speculate about anything until BioWare starts talking in two to three years so there is some basis to know what is going on. The thing that did frustrate me was Mike Gamble's Twitter comment of "This trailer has much to unpack. Look. And listen closely  " I think that is a mistake to have on something so short and with a medium that people will speculate widely and get upset if that speculation turns out to be wrong. That alone makes me think there is much more then what is at the surface level and potentially a lot of the hot takes are just going to burn out.

I'm done with Shepard. I don't really WANT more Shepard persay. I have my Shepards in their various boxes from "dead" to "Three kids and a varren because Jack made it look good", and I'm happy with that.
So I REALLY hope if we're going to ye olde Milky Way for a postscript game, we have a new protagonist.
