I need a bit of help with strategy. I've spent the last day and a half doing all side missions, and scanning almost every planet since I am a completionist. I now decided to do the mission where I have to board a seemingly dead Reaper ship. I've brought Miranda and Mordin, but the ship is crawling with Husks both normal and bloated, there are also ones that explode. I am having trouble with this mission because the Husks run up on Shepard and surround him attacking him. I've got a high melee damage rating but I cannot kill all quick enough. Miranda and Mordin are having their own issues. So what is a good strategy to take out these guys? One of my weaknesses in ME1 were the Husks. I always make two saves before doing a mission. Should I reload and bring someone else? I have all of the companions and they are all loyal. You're default, so a Soldier Shep I take it? Use your Cryo ammo. Husks instantly fall over and die when frozen regardless of remaining health. The pistols and Viper sniper are especially effective in applying it in one shot. Mordin's Cryo Blast has the same effect. Evolve it to the Full spec to kill groups of unarmored husks at a time. His Area Incinerate is also a fantastic power against husks, Armor or not. He's probably the best squadmate for this mission, in general. Try using Grunt as the other squadmate if you're getting swarmed. You can send him out front any time you see husks and he'll draw most of the aggro and group them for your teams AOE powers. He will also sometimes charge and kill any husks he bowls into, sometimes useful if you get trapped and he's nearby. Tali's Combat Drone is also useful for distracting and grouping up husks, as well as distracting the Scions that are frequent in this mission. If you're playing Hardcore or below, Jack has access to Shockwave which is another good power for wiping out groups of husks. Samara and Thane's Throw Field is another good power vs husks, but it has to be fully evolved and used against health to be effective. First want to say love the username. I agree Quarians are great. Love Tali and am happy I can romance her in ME2. These are some good tips you posted. Yes, I am a Soldier I have used disrupter and incendiary ammo but not Cryo. I will switch to Cryo. As for teammates I was thinking Jack and Grunt, or Jack and Samara, but I will check Mordin's skills. I am playing on normal so Jack has the Shockwave I think I maxed it out I will check in half an hour when I get home. Tali love Tali I will try her as well in this mission. Oh yeah in unrelated note yesterday I completed Samara's quest and it's messed up about her daughters.

talyn82 I think playing Jack with either Tali or Mordin is going to work perfectly for you (I always recommend bringing your love interest for possible interesting cut-scenes). I'm looking forward to read about your progress once you've retried the mission.

@quizzybunny: Oops, I saw this post too late. I just completed the mission with Grunt and Jack. The mission was still difficult but manageable. I would walk slowly then once Jack or Grunt said something I would usually run to higher ground then shoot the Husks and Scions from safety. Grunt is a beast once the fight starts he would go off fighting and disappear for awhile, then comeback when he was done. I chose to talk to Legion than turn him over to Cerberus. Like in the beginning with Veetor I let Tali take him back to his fleet. Right now EDI is installing the Reaper IFF, the quest log said to complete any N7 or companion quests, but I've completed them all but I did get a quest from Legion. I will continue to post my progress here. I assume when EDI finishes the installation, and we get access to the Mass Relay that will be the final mission.

Okay so I did Legion's quest. I wanted to take both Legion and Tali, but settled on Legion and Jack. At the end of the quest I was faced with another tough decision. Without spoiling it just let me say I chose to go against genocide. The Normandy was just attacked and I had control of Joker, he safely made it to where EDI directed him. If I remember correctly Shepard is level 30, and the Normandy is getting ready to go through the Omega 4 Relay. I think this might be the last quest? I now have to decide who to bring along. Collectors give serious trouble. I will post the results after I complete the mission.

If you have any missions that haven't been completed, those can be completed. If you haven't played any of the dlc, those can be completed as well.

If I were you I'd go in blind first. Its my favourite mission, but knowing the rules behind it takes some of the luster away. And if it doesn't go how you'd like, you can always try again, just make sure you have a save handy.

In this game and the first one I usually save before I go to anew planet. Just in case I bring the wrong party members or am horribly under leveled. There is one side quest I just saw in my quest log that I have not finished, and it is about killing those monkey creatures on Tuchanka. I doubt any harm will come from not doing it. It's not like they'll overthrow the Krogan and form an empire lol.

Just finished ME2 Legendary, and the game was awesome. The story was great. I feel like I really got to know the companions. In the first game they would stop saying new things after a certain point, even if we're only halfway through. I could have gone blind into the final quest but I wanted the best ending, and themikefest's guide was helpful. I found out that the Collectors can easily be taken out with Cryo ammo. There were a lot of hard decisions but I usually chose the Paragon answers. Like in the game first I was glad I could use persuasion. Like I said before I really liked the companions in the second more than ME1. Now I will start the third and sadly final game in the series. I'll either start later today or tomorrow. I've forgotten what a good writer Drew Karpyshyn is, he wrote the original KOTOR, the Darth Bane Trilogy, and the first two Mass Effect games. Don't know if he wrote the third. All I know about the third is that it was controversial, though I never bothered to do research. Which worked out for me because I was truly blind when I played the first two, and will be blind when I play the third. Later today if I start to play I will post my progress here. Anyway goodnight everyone!

Just started playing ME3 and wow that was an action packed introduction. I ran into 3 old friends from the first game and a brand new companion. 2 of us made it to the Citadel one was injured badly, and the third one stayed back on Earth. Got to see Mars, I think in the lore that was where Prothean ruins were first discovered by humanity? Also I knew we couldn't trust Cerberus. The game seems to use the same controls as ME2 which is not a bad thing. Also your level and skills carryover to the 3rd game which is nice.

Just did the quest for Admiral Hackett where I had to get an item from a Cerberus lab. Now the crew is going to go to a planet Shepard had been on in the first game.

I wish I would have remembered this site when I started with the first game, but at least I can share my experience with the third game. On another note my favorite BioWare series of games has always been the Dragon Age games, but now Mass Effect threatens to overthrow them. I just prefer the series to have one protagonist instead of a different one each game. I haven't had a chance to play yet today. My very young niece and nephew are over, once there parents pick them up I will dive back in. Lastly I will say I find Liara to be so sweet. Shepard is glad to see her again.

Completed the mission on Eden Prime and got a cool new companion, Javik. The mission was simple but it took like an hour to figure out how to get back across to the pod. By the way I got a mission to help the resistance on Eden Prime by gathering intel on our former employer. Is this a mission that is done over time? Or do I have to go back to the planet now? I don't think I've collected any intel on you know who. There was a mention about Grunt when speaking to Javik. Right now I don't know if I should go back to the Citadel and check up on my injured companion or do the Turian mission?

It's the first mission I got when I first spoke to Udina and the Council at the Citadel.

You will get emails regarding the condition on your injured companion that will indicate that you should go back to see them at that point. It doesn't hurt anything though to stop by to check whenever you return to the Citadel. If you're early, you may not be allowed in the room or the dialogue may be the same as on a previous visit, but its generally better to go see them too frequently than not enough.

Yeah I noticed that when I visited the hospital. The door to her room was locked. I completed the mission on the Turian moon for the councilor. It was Husk hell for me. There were Husks everywhere. Luckily I remembered that they can be easily taken out with cryo ammo. There even some Reaper machines that resembled Turians. Anyway I ran into another familiar face and he helped me accomplish the task. Overall it was a fun mission. I did receive an email from my injured companion, I also received some quests. I am enjoying the game I think like the Dragon Age games it will be a permanent stay on my PC.

Been doing side missions in ME3. Did two out of the three side quests for the Asari owner of the nightclub on Omega. I helped save the students at Grissom Academy, ran into an old friend while there. Now I'm going to get some artifacts for a Salarian merchant on Citadel. He is part of the last side quest of the Asari owner of the Omega nightclub.
