Jacob on the other hand has ur back from the start and imo is 1 of the better ME2 squad-mates based on personality/story Oh, I beg to differ, time traveler.  CBA watching a 20+ minute video trying to (incorrectly explain why Jacob is the worst squad mate). He's a former alliance officer with a promising future who becomes disillusioned with politics preventing him (in his eyes) from making a difference and turns to a radical organisation in hopes to better humanity and himself. At the same time he's conflicted with working with said radical organisation because their not exactly 'good' at the same time he had a less than happy child hood and had to grow up fast (which you get an insight into when speaking to him and during his loyalty mission). That's a pretty interesting character premise.

What other colonists, the only 1 we see get stung/ paralysed and is fine the next minute on Horizon is Ashley, we dont see anyone else on Horizon except for the mechanic who was hiding and didnt get stung in the first place As you walk through the Horizon level, you see several colonists in stasis. IIRC Shep and team even comment on them. Right but you dont see them magically pop out in the end of the mission like you do Ashley so we dont know if they are actually fine or not post collectors leaving. The point is this wasnt well explained at all and the first thing I thought when Ashley popped up at the end was "Weren't you paralysed?"

No idea I just remember Ashley being quite anti-alien, she particularly hated Liara Depends on the alien. She is very wary of Turians (which we learn is due to her family's history) and krogan (most people are), but others like quarians she is nothing but nice towards (and in ME3 is even okay if Shepard leaves her for Tali since she sees her as a little sister) and asari (so long as you aren't romancing her and Liara at the same time). I dont know I just remember her pretty snide comments towards Liara and I wasnt even romancing Liara in my first playthrough "Im not sure I call the council races allies, we humanity have to learn to rely on ourselves" - That's 1 of her early comments in ME1 and that strikes me as pretty xenophobic

Edit again: I tried it with other users' posts and theirs were timestamped correctly. It's just altbouli. Should be me as well, I think. It seems to be a quirk of the board for users who run invisible mode; the timestamp on the quotes seems to be the same as "last online" on the profile page - which for invisible is apparently when you turn the mode on. Yes, she is quite vocal about her dislike of groups like Terra Firma. Yeah, she doesn't let them instrumentalise Shanxi like that. Understandable, given her family background. |

Yeah that's just practical, its pretty clear in that universe every species will only protect your species as far as it helps them to do so. That being said I think people overstate her xenophobia. There is some, but its pretty mild.

That being said, my dislike for Jacob doesn't stem from his character arc which was one of the darkest and haunting moments in the game but his writing which I can say it was atrocious. To make a black man cheat was just downright awful and a betrayal to his arc.

Andromeda was a buggy mess at launch and wasn't particularly interesting when it did work.... Remember also that Bioware abandoned support for Inquisition (another horrible game) to support Andromeda, bioware then proceeded to stop supporting the game abruptly. I can't blame people who bought the game from being cheesed off. |

However, I think there are plenty of things that can't be effectively explained in a single paragraph, especially if you're providing examples. However, you do you if you like Jacob Except that video excessively nitpicky and coming down to opinion. This is why everyone hates him?
