Probably has already been talked about but the SR2 is darker in ME2 now. Probably so it is closer to the lighting in ME3. It doesn't make much sense to me. Cerberus is flashing an asset for people out there, quite literally. The Alliance crew on the retrofits, however, were working against the clock and the upcoming Reaper invasion that Anderson himself believed it would come, so they had to work on important things, like the Armory for the marines and the Command Center, so something like blazing lights wouldn't exactly be a priority. I mean, long rant for just a few lights, but it's a weird choice to me.

I think on PS3 it was bugged that it was always Liara in the Normandy Attack scene. In the Xbox (and PC versions?) it was always either Kaidan or Ashley, or Liara, but only if you romanced her. It goes like: Ashley if default Male Shepard Kaidan if default Female Shepard PC/XBox Save Import -> Liara Romance = Liara PC/Xbox Save Import -> No Liara Romance = Virmire Survivor PS3 New Game Default = Liara PS3 Save Import = ? (IDK, never played it) As for that, I dunno if it was bugged rather than it being a feature (somewhat). If Liara still appears after importing, it's just a flag they didn't bother to retroactively correct. See, for Mass Effect, the first game to ever come out on the Playstation was the second one. That also featured Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. And it's all explained how she got your body back from Cerberus, so from a new player perspective, it makes sense for her to have been there originally and needed to see what happened first hand. Long story short, IMO, it makes a hell lot more sense than some random person that shouts your ass off Horizon after a brief meeting and makes Liara somewhat relevant for players to expect her return later on.

Good point. I never understood why they didn't write the ME2 in a way that introduced both the Virmire Survivor and Liara. It would have been easy enough to have both of them in that scene and have Shepard order each of them to help separate escape pods. They could have also had an option where the player decides who falls into him/her (pseudo hug)... thereby, creating a flag that say that selected person was Shepard's LI. Then the scene on Horizon coulld have proceeded with a LI-type encounter (if the VS was the selected one) or LOtSB could have proceeded with it's LI-type lines if Liara was the selected one.

Shepard's skin was completely regrown. It's completely logical to lose any scars they had previously. But ME1 scars are cool. :-(

Which feels like a bug because the Paramour achievements have "establish or rekindle". The "rekindle in two games" didn't even trigger for me after I relocked my romance with Liara in ME3 (it might trigger later, I'm not done with it yet).

I just noticed that BioWare removed the squad manual action animations for their firearms in ME1.
Also they took away the option to use the turret on the Grizzly during the geth garage fight on Noveria.

I believe that's the way it always was on the Xbox 360. My non-import, no comic ME2 start on the Xbox One has Ashley show up with BroShep. I was playing femshep. This was your imported save, right? Femshep, didn't romance Liara, Kaidan died on Virmire. On the Xbox 360, I believe Ashley would have shown up there as well. Defaults for a non-import were based on gender... assumes Ashley survived Virmire if BroShep and assumes Kaidan survived if FemShep. Liara only showed up if romanced. If imported file with BroShep where Kaidan survived and Ashley died as Shep was on her romance path or had managed to shut down both Ashley and Liara romances, Kaidan would show up, not Liara.
The key to shutting down the Liara ninja romance on the Xbox was to 1) Tell her you weren't interested AND never, never ask her about the Asari. No one shows up at the lockers then regardless of who lives or dies on Virmire or whether or not there is a romance path in existence with either Ashley or Kaidan. Doing that also prevents the catfight scene if on a romance path with Ashley or Kaidan nor will they express any concern over Shepard talking with her. I used it many time with the OG, don't know yet how well it works with LE.

Couple of PC updates as I muck around with stuff in ME1 (just finished Virmire, so have not played either ME2 or ME3 LE yet) …
Programmable mouse buttons went stupid after the patch, quick keys went blank. Easy to reload quick keys, but took a bit to figure out the mouse button issues. Reloaded the ME1 executable path for my mouse (when the executable is active, it tells the mouse to switch to the mode set for that game) … mouse buttons working as intended. Haven't played ME2 or ME3 yet, but reloaded the path to each for their respective mouse programming … so it should work when I get there. SoonTM.
Sound issues. Pretty sure after a bunch of mucking around (hat tip to Ergates for giving me the idea), ME1's default sound is for headphones and doesn't play well with external (5.1) speakers. Prolly works OK for 2.1 speakers, but that's just a guess (my subwoofer works, regardless).
Tried switching Win10 spatial settings from "Off" to the setup for headphones. It does improve the sound in ME1 (but dorks it up in other games and listening to music). You can have 5.1 surround or stereo selected in another Win10 setting … but if you select 5.1, it turns the spatial setting to off … and if you set the spatial setting to support headphones, it changes the speaker selection from 5.1 to stereo.
Discovered the sound path for the load screens in ME1 are similar to the sound paths for the LE menu options … and is different than the in-game sound path. The loading screen and menu sounds work fine in 5.1. In my mucking around, with in-game sounds completely disabled, load screens in ME1 and MELE menu sounds still work fine.
Bottom line for ME1 sounds (which may not be an issue in ME2 and ME3) is they can be fairly borked for external 5.1 speakers, with no game setup toggle to go from headphones to external speakers … it's going to take a patch from BioWare to fix it … or only play ME1 with headphones or switch the Win10 settings every time you play ME1 … and switch back for everything else, once you exit the game (insert "Nope" gif here).
On a good note, the door that wouldn't open on Virmire, at the indoctrination lab … now works. You can kill the indoctrinated Salarians, grab an upgrade kit and follow the underground sewer system to find yourself outside the lab. A small bug fix, but appreciated.

Kaidan appearing in that scene for a no-romance male Shepard is important foreshadowing for their future relationship. I would not be happy to find out they removed it. Shepard's skin was completely regrown. It's completely logical to lose any scars they had previously. But you get a new scar somehow? As a result of the various procedures Cerberus was doing.

The lines people speak can suddenly come out at much smaller volume, then at normal volume. I have no idea what is going on (PS5). Its not Shep, its all the others. *sigh* I'm soon going to Ilos in ME1LE. I'm looking forward next year playing this on PC with some mods... hopefully they have patched the game until then  |

This is doable in the original; I have done it before.  I am not exactly sure what triggers that door opening vs not opening, but I remember being confused about how I got back outside basically where I started out.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but........In ME3LE, Matriarch Aethyta no longer mentions Liara's knickers being on fire if you are not in a romance. Nor will Shepard refer to her as 'my girl'. I think you have to be in a romance with somebody else, since I’m with Kelly (which at this point the game treats as if I’ve never been in any romance) and Aethyta mentions “the way you two look at each other”. I've tested on another file. I play only Male Shepard, and ONLY Romance Kaidan now. The Conversation with Matriarch Aethyta and Liara happens BEFORE the Citadel Coup. So it's before Kaidan can be locked in. On both files, the "Your panties on fire" and Shepard calling Liara "My girl" have been missing. I suspect that if people are getting those lines, that they have been picking the top right answer in dialogue with Liara, which is a BAD THING. The upper right answer will always give Romance points for Liara. If you're on PC, you should download the Save Editor from Nexus, to check your romance stats.

I am not exactly sure what triggers that door opening vs not opening, but I remember being confused about how I got back outside basically where I started out.
