Who do you think will be the protagonist in ME5?

I can't believe people think Ryder will be back.

They said who's the character on the background, the one liara sees. They also teased we'll know who it is if we can figure it out. Turns out that person we supposed to look closely is Ryder because they wear the pathfinder suit. The glass helmet gives it away. To add to that one person said it's them, and a developer who works on NME liked the comment which to me it further confirms it.

I know that. Keep in mind with the Ryder Twin's Camp believe that They with Ryder Twins can address the loose plot threads within ME:A

The only acceptable name for Ryder is David.

I think it's going to be a new character, and I hope it will be in Andromeda, but doesn't have to be Ryder. A jump forward in time would be great and Ryder could be a wise old advisor or something.

Fear: Liara, Ryder or Shepard

Meridian is a relay that has a pathfinder to explore the MW 600 years later. I would prefer it be Ryder but I guess it could be someone else if needed. Someone who isn't an N7 but had his or her skills honed in battle with the true Kett Empire rather than the rogue faction.

Play as a clone of Shepard with the original Shepard memories? At this time, I'm not sure if that would work. I would have to see some information and possibly some gameplay if Bioware were to go that route.

What if Shepard is really dead and wasn't the one played in ME2/3, but a clone? I'm sure some would be in an uproar about that. Or what if Shepard isn't dead, but in a coma while the clone does ME2/3? In ME4, everyone is mourning the loss of Shepard. While investigating Cronos, investigators come across the real Shepard in a tank. She/he is still in a coma.

How about ME2/3 is really a dream that Shepard has while being unconscious after the SR1 is destroyed. Just before passing out, for some blah, blah reason, Shepard was able to make it to an escape pod. Now if Bioware wants to, remake ME2/3.
