The reason I like NG+ is because you can play around with stuff you couldn't really do in your first playthrough. Like armor dyes, though I have a habit of forgetting to buy dye formula before importing. Haha. The other main thing I like is playing around with the Runewright, since he can be unlocked pretty quick, and also coin is a lot more prevalent. Watch out for the tax collector! I ran into him near the docks in Oxenfurt.

Griffin Armor stan reporting in. Even looks good in pink. Looks good? Looks fantastic! I'd say fabulous, because it is, but I don't want to make the obvious and weak association that pink=gay. That armor looks like something a Witcher would wear proudly, makes me interested in toying with dyes when I get around to that, regardless what he rolls around with. I have been rocking Griffin gear most of the game, but it is time for my Wolf to drop his Cat & Bird game and be his own Lone Wolf Wolf Pack. Howl at the moon, drink a bunch of decoctions, and go wreck Eredin. Phillipa got her revenge on Radovid, and as much as I hated doing it, I personally roasted then bisected Sigismund Dijkstra diagonally. It was a pointless death, and Geralt delivered a stunning finisher as a professional under attack does. The regret is in losing his mind; he would have been an asset to the New North and could have possibly worked on his Redanian goals and maintain the conspiracy. Instead, butchered like Doug Marcaida would a pig carcass on Forged in Fire. Anyways, got a Dark Elf needs killing. Unless I find a game of Gwent on the way...

Griffin is the best for playing around with dyes in my opinion, the only downside I suppose is that you don't have any control over the secondary color. Which is true for all armor, but I have less issues with Griffin than say the Manticore. Feline can be fun too.
Anyway, I recently learned how to get a few free skill points. I was actually looking up what can be missed in Beyond Hill and Dale, and read that if you eat the golden egg you get 1 skill point, which I have since confirmed. I never would've thought of that otherwise. Also, if you eat the Magic Acorn you loot from Imlerith it gives 2 skill points. I haven't personally confirmed that one though. Again, I never would've thought of that. I always give the Acorn away. LOL.

I'm gonna take a 3 day break from TW3. Don't misunderstand me it's a good game but a long game as well.
I did do one quest from HoS yesterday and it involved an auction house and a heist. So Geralt goes to the auction house meets Vivaldi an old friend, and is introduced to several notable noble's. One was a noblewoman who collected Witcher artifacts. She immediately knew that Geralt was from the school of the wolf. Geralt bought a copy of Viper armor and weapons schematics from her, and she asked him for a favor. Geralt agreed and quickly knew she was lying, she just wanted alone to ask him if he knew Vesemir. Geralt said yes, that Vesemir taught him everything he knew. Apparently many years ago the noblewoman and Vesemir were fond of each other. She asked Geralt if he was still alive Geralt said no. She then asked did he at least die a Witcher's death? Geralt said no, he died a hero. Satisfied the noblewoman left.
The next noble Geralt spoke to was an art aficionado who asked gim if he knew anything about art. Geralt being the worldly Witcher he is said yes. So the art enthusiast challenged to pick one painting out of several that was of a particular painter. Geralt chose the right one (thanks google), nad the noblemen was surprised. He pulled Geralt to the side and told him that one of the art pieces on auction is a hot item and would fetch a high price with a local merchant in Novigrad. The third noble I forgot what he does and what he asked Geralt. So now the auction. The first item was bought by the noblewoman who knew Vesemir. The second item was the painting was bought by Geralt. The third item I forgot what it was and who bought it.
After the auction Vivaldi chooses to introduce Geralt to the owner of the house, and immediately the tension between the two rises up. The man has Geralt thrown out. Geralt beats up the two guards outside and prepares to leave. He is approached by a shady figure that says he knows how to get into the vault that has the item Olgierd Von Everac wants. The man tells Geralt to go to the Herbalist Hut and say a phrase. That the herbalist will know what he means. Geralt heads to the herbalist tells him the phrase, and is taken to the back to a ladder that leads to a cellar. Inside is the shady man Geralt met outside of the auction house.
He explains to Geralt his master plan on how to get into the vault, and who he needs help them. Geralt recruits the female elven circus performer, the dwarven demolitionist, and I forgot the third person. Anyway with everyone gathered they head to the place they need to break into. After almost a close call they all made it safely inside. Inside there were guards even though the shady man said there would be none, and Geralt specifically said no blood shed. Of course soon after they all have to defend themselves and Geralt has to kill. I forgot what happened to the female elf but she and the third person disappeared, and Geralt, the shady man, and the dwarf break into the vault.
Inside is the owner of the auction house with two guards. He tries to bribe Geralt to join him with the typical promises of riches beyond his dreams. Oh yeah it is revealed that the shady man and the owner of the auction house are brothers. Geralt refuses the owners offer and fight ensues. Owner defeated begs his brother for his life, and his brother beats him to death without mercy. The man then tells Geralt he can have anything that he wants except the item Olgierd Von Everac wants. Geralt having a reputation to maintain tells him he does not like to be tricked, and challenged the man to a fight. The man recruits the dwarf and Geralt kills both. He takes the item and brings it to Olgierd Vo Everac.
Von Everac is surprised by Geralt's gift, and Geralt asks him what the third wish was. Olgierd kept evading his question and every time Geralt maintained his position what was the last wish. Olgierd eventually told him and this is where I last stop playing. In 3 days I will resume.

Yep, I did that last time since the village had been wiped out by the black horse demon.
talyn82 I'm not a big fan of the heist quest, simply because it doesn't feel very witcher-y and I hate being double-crossed via script rather than due to my own decisions. Regarding the painting...if you tell Vivaldi about the tip he will buy the painting out from under you. I was ticked because I was going the for the "buy everything at the auction" achievement that game and then had to reload. The third item for auction is the Professor's (from TW1) glasses. No idea who managed to dig them out of the collapsed kikimore hive but kudos to them! Geralt can wear them too.

I did not like that quest either. As for the painting I did tell Vivaldi about the tip and he did bid against me, but I outbid and got the painting. As for the other items I did not think they could be gotten. What I'm trying to say is I thought the auction was scripted to only win one item. Plus I did not know how much coin I had. That Runewright is expensive to fund. First he wanted 5000 Crowns, 10000, and now 15000! This expansion is hurting Geralt in his coin pouch. As for the Professor's glasses I too wondered how they found them.

There are some fun runes and glyphs, but nothing earth shattering. You are going to need coin for the Grandmaster Armor's.

Also I have a question: One, is I bought the Viper schematic from the noblewoman at the suction, but I cannot find it in my inventory and is not apart of the 'Treasure Hunts' quests. Do you know where the schematic is located in the inventory?

Do you know where the schematic is located in the inventory? You just need to go to a Master Armorer to get it crafted. Also, on the subject of Witcher armor, how far along are you with crafting Mastercrafted Gear? Just thought I'd mention that Grandmaster Wolven does not require the Mastercrafted version. Lastly, when you get to Blood and Wine I recommend going for the Manticore first. Its the cheapest to craft.

That armor is what's been keeping me alive during some of the more challenging fights. Like Eredin and Olgierd Von Everac.

I want to buy suction at the auction! Gwent? Gwent. 5 cards remain from unremarkable players, woohoo... Just gotta figure out which ones and then find those random bastards. Sigh. Sitting at a table with Shani right now discussing the death of a frog. We're sitting at a table and there are no cards on it This quest is aggravating, yet the music... I dance in ny seat playing Gwent. Annoy myself doing it, then smile and keep dancing. Dumb. ETA - I am now, The Professional. Not sure if I got this achievement before (when I upgraded to GOTY my cheevos reset :/ ) so that's nice

Yeah I know I said I was gonna take a break for three days. But the game pulled me back in. Since today was my day off I got to finish the quest where I had to complete Olgierd's third wish. I got to say this was a great quest I felt so bad for Iris Von Everac that it was this morning when I played and I still remember her name. In the end I had the choice to let her keep the flower or give it to Geralt. I chose to take the flower because even though Geralt does not know if there's an afterlife. Oblivion is better than reliving the torturous past for eternity in her made up world. Yeah this shed a new light on Olgierd. I mean I understand why he did it, but I wouldn't do it myself. He was a noble who was losing his fortune and status, and he was never good enough for his wife's parents. He had a lot of pressure that he chose to sell his soul.
Anyway I left the game at the point where Geralt is doing O' Dimm's challenge for his soul.

Look left. Just completed G-O-D's quest meself. Always choose to release Iris, and Olgierd. Almost ran out of time on the timer, but got it done without dying for once. Gwent? 2 cards remain, must be somewhere in Velen as I have exhausted Novigrad Oxenfurt and Skellige. Yen is waiting for me, patiently I imagine, as I spend in-game weeks traversing the entire continent and isles looking for shards 2 Gwent cards.

Thanks I just figured it out. I agree it was a good challenge and I did not expect the mirror to be the water fountain. I enjoyed the expansion. Olgierd and Iris are two of my favorite characters in the game.

It was all good.

Thanks I just figured it out. I agree it was a good challenge and I did not expect the mirror to be the water fountain. I enjoyed the expansion. Olgierd and Iris are two of my favorite characters in the game. Heart of Stone has some the best writing in the entire series imo. Better boss fights, brought back Shani, great villain. It was all good. I agree 100% with you. The writing overall is impressive. Most open world games lack in the writing department. But this game has some of the best npc's I've seen since Planesacape: Torment. Basically Chris Avellone level type of writing.

Wait until you get a load of Regis.
The expansions are the example of what DLC meant to me once. Like Awakening, they add so much to the game. Unlike Awakening, they are almost entirely integrated into the main game and have very little discontinuity.
I am kind of a black and white guy, when it comes to morality. It takes a great deal to convince me of grey and gradation. Hearts of Stone punches my worldview in the eye and I love it for that.

Since I'm off today also I'll play the Blood and Wine dlc in the morning. I really enjoyed the Hearts of Stone dlc. Many memorable characters. I look forward to Blood and Wine.

Well, Collect 'em All! is done. Can't wait to earn the Skellige deck in B&W FML Now, finally, back at the Chameleon to settle some important business I have been putting off to fuel my gambling addiction. Geralt is a bad Dad with problem drinking, gambling and murdering. Heart of gold though! ETA- main story finished, just picked up a special sword for a special someone found at home that was not expected. The feels watching the moments... They out BioWare'd BW in every way with TW3, even some of the bad things are worse! But all the good things are as good or better, the execution and care are apparent. I like cutscenes, so that is a bias that works for CDPR in this case. Now, onto more adventure! Very low effort Geraldo cosplay, I mean very. Enjoy, or gouge out your eyes. My apologies in advance
