Star Wars: Outlaws

Im definitely picking up both....But I would be interested to know the specs and release date for Veilguard.

After watching the 20 minute gameplay video...I take back my previous statement. I will very likely buy Veilguard it's just a question of timing. If they both came out on August 30th I may not buy both on the same day...I may delay DA into September so that I can afford it.

I will also likely pre-order both games. I know..I mentioned pre-ordering. I just broke the 12th Commandment.

I'll play it, but I was kinda "whelmed" after seeing the gameplay footage.

What other Ubisoft games have you played? The last ones I played on PC where the two Rainbow Six Vegas games, which, coming from the original games (including Rogue Spear and Urban Ops), Vegas was a letdown. The other Ubisofr titles I played were Prince of Persia [2008 reboot] whixh I thoroughly enjoyed but the ending even with the DLC left a very bitter taste, and then The Forgotten Sands (which is a fantadtic game all around). It was my favourite of the two. And before that I played the first two AC games.

As far as AC is concerned...I was interested in the story, and the vehicle of the Animus was an interesting plot device...But the gameplay got really boring very quickly. The most entertaining part was the swan dive you could take from tall rooftops. So I would run around from building to building just to jump off. It's a shame really because the trailers looked incredible. But then the deeper the AC series got, the farther down the rabbit hole the Writers went....I heard more and more bad things about each consecutive installment. Now there has been so many AC games Ive lost count and Ive certainly lost track of the story.

I cant say Ive played a Ubisoft game since. And when thw first two Division games were released I thought the graphics looked like something from Rainbow Six Vegas..in other words, Outdated. I did not see the appeal, frankly still dont. But NOW seeing what they have accomplished with Outlaws, Im not only impressed Im excited. I do, however, think Unreal 5 is a better engine (but that is my own personal opinion).


I am very excited for Outlaws. As excited for Outlaws as I was Jedi Survivor or Fallen Order before it.

I've played a lot of Ubisoft games. They're kinda like comfort food for me lol. I've played plenty much all of the AC games, as well as the other two Star Wars games you've listed. Nearly every Far Cry game. Both Division games, along with the most recent 2D Prince of Persia game and the first two of the original 3D trilogy. I've played every Ghost Recon game since Ghost Recon 2. I've also played every Splinter Cell except Double Agent. I also played Immortals: Phoenix Rising, which I ended up enjoying more than AC: Valhalla actually. So yeah, I've gotten my fill from them to say the least.


It's not so much that I think Outlaws will be a bad game, and I'll still play it. I just feel like I didn't see anything upfront that wowed me. I know for a lot of people, it being a fully open-world game is all they need, but I kinda got that experience in some part with Jedi Survivor. Plus, I've played my fair share of other open-world Ubisoft games, and you do tend to pick up on the formula real quick, even when these games are made by other studios. For example, Massive Entertainment also made the most recent Avatar game (which I also played), but it still runs the same gambit of "Ubisoft Checklist" as many other their other games.

So I'm not here to discount anyone who is excited for Outlaws. Just airing that I wish there was something more dynamic or interesting than what I've seen before. Plus, I'm a variety gamer, so I get a pretty huge fill of many gameplay systems. That's probably inoculated me to some of the gameplay designs shown the in demo.

Anyway, I think she’s cute.  From the video she has a hell of right hook, too.

That is the problem I am having as well, for me this is just another Ubisoft game that has ties to Star Wars and I have other games to play if I want to play a Star Wars game including The Old Republic since it is a free-to-play MMO.  I don't think Ubisoft games are something I will buy near launch anymore, for they hit sale prices fast enough that I pay what I think they are worth.

Earlier today, I watched the latest gameplay video. It looks bad, in my opinion. The same stiff animations and janky-face problems that I noticed months ago are still present, and the game already went gold.

This one has gone from a probable purchase to a wait-and-see, for me. I love SW, or at least the parts of the IP that I choose to acknowledge as SW, but this just looks very unpolished and very "Ubi". Stiff, dated movement, including the combat, terrible environmental effects, and a lot of repackaged Ubi gameplay gimmicks (another f-ing pet) leave me feeling very underwhelmed. ☹️
