another reason why I haven't adopted it yet. Really wish they gave us the option to have companions take their own turns. I don't think that could really work with BG3's gameplay, as the AI could screw things massively. BG3, and those type of RPGs, aren't really suited to allow the player to control just one character and leave the companions to do their own things. I know but a man can dream.

Another advantage BG3 has is that the subclasses are interesting to me. Sorcerer in BG3 has Wild Magic, Draconic Bloodline, and Storm Sorcery for subclasses, all of which sound good.
In comparison for Veilguard I am starting to wonder if there will be even a single mage specialization I like. Will have to wait and see what Evoker is.

People already said it, but why does it even have to be a competition? Why can’t I enjoy both? Something something ‘it can be two things.’ And also, how many arpgs even exist where I get to create my own character? They almost always have a set protagonist, same for hack and slash, or are instead primarily a shooter. Skyrim, maybe, ignoring the fact the combat is garbage? Greedfall? Meanwhile if I want a classic crpg experience, the pathfinder and pillars games are right there.
I also find it kind of funny that people complain about Veilguard ‘not feeling like Dragon Age’ when very little about BG3 feels like the first two games. There was even a massive debate that raged on the forums over the game being turn based vs RTwP, and tons of complaints about lack of a day/night cycle, or how few companions were in the game compared to previously, or that everything looked too bright and pretty, or that inventory was awful, or that the chain system was complete dogshit, or that characters jumping around like kangaroos looked absolutely ridiculous. If BioWare did to Morrigan what was done to Viconia, there would be rioting in the streets of Reddit.
Sorry if I sound terse, I’m just so done with these comparisons and the need to ding Veilguard for what it’s not, rather than what it’s trying to be.

That is the reason why i love owlcats Pathfinder games so much. I can easy switch between combat styls without problems. But i think they doesn't make another game like that. sad. Maybe the new Greedfall game will have gameplay i like. It is RTWP.
