I wonder who the lady in the beginning might be. She sounds like she might be an important character. I specifically stopped being read-only to say I'm 99% sure the Antivan lady is Caterina Dellamorte, the current leader of the Crows.

It's teaser number ...? I guess it was Dragon Age day or something. At this point the game is maybe a year away, 10 years after DAI. Remember when DAI ended on an high note with Trespasser, looking at a map pointing Tevinter... a decade looking at maps. On the bright side it's so very boring at this point, the wait aren't killing me.

Still we have seen Undead looking imagery in the BTS trailers. Now that could've been scrapped but its also safe to assume its still in there so I find the exclusion of Nevarra/ the Mortaltassi a bit odd if they don't acctually make it into the game. I think that an individual Mortalitasi may be involved but not the organisation as a faction. Remember they are definitely on Solas' radar now so it would make sense for the shadow Inquisition to avoid involving them going forward. If their representative was "glow head" that might make more sense as it would appear to be a spirit occupying the body of a deceased person and likely their abilities might include a means of shielding themselves from Solas. Solas threatened the Mortalitasi if they continued to enslave spirits but if the spirit was acting willingly then may be he can't detect them.

my thoughts: Antiva: Jackdaw and guest say they see qunari flags in the picture of the city. So maybe a backstory for our Hc, we start with in Tevinter. Rivain: the Lords of Fortune. I don't know but what he said here sound for me like Executors, but that can only be me. Seamonster. Anderfels: The wardens. Someone in command speaking. I see no desert. Aren't the Anderfels a big desert? Tevinter: This is interesting. I am not sure who he is, but it sound like power. For me: more power than the other 3. Someone who doesn't share his power.
I like this very much. I will look for more breakdowns on youtube.

Take this with a huge grain of salt, there's a supposed leaker in this discussion thread: www.reddit.com/r/dragonage/s/ojCfN5RNyFThe gist is: Dragon Age Andromeda - characters are snarky and quibby as hell, as if everyone is sarcastic Hawke or Varric. Marvel humor (which already ruined Andromeda for me) basically. - very different from previous games, going to be very devisive, especially the combat which is described as Andromeda melee without guns If that is even remotely true this game will be exactly the kind of trainwreck I feared. Old school BioWare/DAO fans are not the target audience. If this game has writing even remotely like Andromeda, I won't even be getting this game on a discount. Sorry I'm ruining the mood again with my negativity. Thought it was worth sharing the link though.

Sorry I'm ruining the mood again with my negativity. Thought it was worth sharing the link though. I'd say that, even if true, extrapolating how the full game is going to be in terms of tone from a simple test is too soon. The 'Marvel humor' is something present in every Bioware game to a various degree, and the balance between that tone and lines with more serious one isn't east to ascertain in 2-3 hours. Balance is going to important either way. Combat wise, I do think that it's highly likely the combat will be action oriented (if this leak is true, it's very, very unlikely things would change from that point to release, even if it seems they went from 2 companions to 3, from the first leak to this one), although what kind of combat is quite confusing at this point, as this leaker gave different inputs by mentioning GOW, TW3, and by what you said, MEA without guns. The positive thing about yesterday is that we should know soon enough how the game will be, either way.

I'll be real, the general gist of the combat according to the entirety of the person's claims is that it's, at minimum, Mass Effect combat in a Dragon Age game.

From the previous BioWare games I'm expecting a more mobile combat this time around, which has been freaking amazing in MEA and Anthem. But, I do not expect it to be AS mobile, maybe just bit faster without the constant small pauses that riddled me3 and DAI combat.

full reveal summer 2024, release date 2034 with possible delay to 2044 All jokes aside, I's guessing that voice at the end is going to be for Elgar'nan & BW are going to double-down on on the Elven gods were evil, Solas was right route. Just a thought in my head, we'll see what's revealed in summer. No, the last voice is definitely an old god. It is mixed with a dragon's growl.

Been reading through the reddit thread.
The characters being written with Marvel like dialogue is not what I wanted to hear. I've never been a fan of the combat in the DA series, though I thought Inquisition was the best, I can live with a more action focused combat system. Quirky/quipy dialogue though is not my preference. It drug down Andromeda.
I hope that's only these characters the play tester heard that were written that way, or they are just some random person on the internet making things up.

BioWare's Marvel style humour was always terrible and reminded me of a bunch of giggly teens who all seemed to think they had Robert Downey Jr's charisma for some reason. Andromeda melee without guns? Double ouch. MEA's and Anthem had no melee to speak of, just some extremely basic attacks. Then again, can't blame them for going for a new target audience ten years later.

I don't think the alleged leaker said it'd be all Andromeda melee: I don't think this statement here is supposed to necessarily mean that it's "all melee combat is like Andromeda melee", but rather "Andromeda if it were designed more around melee combat instead of pew-pew".

I wonder if some of the "Marvel" dialogue is because they are getting a lot of banter which is usually more playful than the rest of the dialogue in the game. If they are just doing a mission that might be a lot of what they are hearing. I don't know, I just find it difficult to believe with the writers on the DA team that suddenly all of the dialogue would sound like Marvel.

There has always been snarky ironic "marvel alike" comments in the both series though. Never they've been launched all the time (like some generalize).

And that every faction and ideology of elves will face a reckoning, but also that this'll be mostly settled as a result of this game's events and then the elves can start morally lording over (while with some recent humility) everyone else in future games ("at least we're trying to sort our crap out now!").

Does the voice over tevinter at the end sound like Liam O'brian doing Illidan to anyone else? I don't think. But many have said that. In Jackdaws live one said Matthew Yang King.

Ugh, the Crows, another totally incompetent organization.
Grey Wardens? Unless we have a blight I don't want to hear from those whiney wasteful bastards.
Combat? I am not too worried about it, I will adapt, UNLESS they go all dark souls.
Give me good companions, some actual good sidequests and a villain I can hate but respect.

Considering that we have Darkspawn fused with Red Lyrium, I think whatever is going on is quite pertinent to the Wardens (otherwise we wouldn’t have Warden as a player background and a Warden companion in Davrin) Can’t really defend the Crows though. They’ve been getting slaughtered single-handedly by Zevran. Don’t get me wrong, Zev is good, but he shouldn’t be “single-handedly dismantles the most infamous assassins guild in Thedas” good

It's definitely not "marvel" like people love to keep pushing out. I just hope we get a Sarcastic Hawke esque dialogue again. I mean even with Andromeda, the sense of humor far exceeds modern MCU.

The Grey Wardens are a blight themselves. But just outside actual Blights.
If they go Dark Souls, ooops, I just went Cheat Engine modifying.
So we want another DA2? Deal

They do? Since when? I think Darkspawn tend to avoid normal Lyrium as evidenced by the Bastion of the Pure but considering that the Red stuff is Blighted Lyrium it wouldn't make much sense for them to avoid it and that would seem to be the bad writing.
