Looks a lot like Andromeda meets generic sci-fi. Only reason I'm keeping this on my radar is new ex BioWare studio. I was super excited for what they'd come up with. Didn't expect it to be so Mass Effect-y. I should be thrilled but that trailer turned me off tbh. The "Celestials" is such a stupid name for a villain race, my god...
Since it says RPG and not pure action shooter, maybe the narrative will be good after all. Any AA(A) RPG is on my wishlist by default until I know more. So I guess this applies to Exodus as well.
Interstellar mixed with the Hyperion novels would be dope, let's see how it'll turn out.

The eyes of love and all that, but Mass Effect is and looks like generic sci fi. I thought that was the appeal? It's not something you see that much in RPGs. Time will tell, but I'm intrigued by this. There's a sci fi RPG itch I've wanted to scratch for a while and none of the offerings so far have been up my alley. I respect that. I see Mass Effect as a love letter to all the GOOD sci-fi stuff out there like Babylon 5 and BSG and Farscape. Yes, they just stole a bunch of ideas but they put them together into something awesome imo. The first game was very nerdy, not flashy at all. Exodus to me looks like any other live service game that wants to look oh so cool. Then again I hated the ME2 trailer with that rule of cool look. Looks can be deceiving... |

I don't understand the whole obsession with "former BioWare developers" mainly at least my opinion on the subject is the game is made by the complete team and not a handful of people. So frankly having a couple of developers from one studio is about the same as making a tribute game because they might have worked with BioWare they also worked with a lot of other people to make that team to make a BioWare game. The other problem I have is that they are a new studio and aiming directly for a major AAA style game right out of the bat, just seems to be adding a lot more risk to the game and since they are a new studio I doubt they will get a second chance if anything goes wrong.
Knowing me I will forget about this game in a few days and maybe have interest when it is released, but frankly it probably will end up like most games and I won't be a purchase until a major sale.

Looks good from what they've showed so far. Been reading the lore on the game's website. Very interesting, Tom Vargus character background is has been interesting as well. Given he was leading the celestials away from humanity, and celestials seems to be the enemies. I wonder if our character and him will have some issues, given the player character has celestial heritage. I can't wait to learn more!

Two of these species are directly namedropped in the official website: the Elohim (builders of the mass relay analogues) and the Detenir (extinct, lived on the protagonist's homeworld)

Early days, but this was the only new thing that caught my interest at TGA.
The lore on the website sounds interesting. The protagonist name is set as “Jun”, but I’m hoping the character customization is solid.
I definitely got a bit of “generic sci-fi” vibes from the trailer but that feeling has receded a bit after visiting the website.

This has me pretty excited as I'm still in search for Mass Effect alternatives. So if the ex-Bio devs at Archetype, Humanoid Studios and also Worlds Untold are able to sprinkle in some great Sci-Fi RPGs, that can only be great, because the dev cycles for one franchise seems to be way too long these days.
Important for me (at the top of my list): a well thought out and exciting story, great and challenging 3rd person combat, the development and customization of my character, interesting conversations with NPCs, choices that are exciting and add replay value.
So hopefully one of those upcoming games can deliver. The trailer, especially the extended one, looks extremely promising, but of course it is way too early to tell. I wonder if we can make comparable choices about companions in that game to the decision the character in the trailer made splitting up to lead the danger away. Hopefully the answer is yes. (Although we probably all hope that we can send rather disliked companions away to live their life while we are still on our adventure).

Thought the trailer was rather mediocre. The celestials name does seem a bit naff, let’s riff off marvel.
The whole notion of time dilation and seeing effects of choices could be interesting
Glad to hear there will be companions and romanceable ones too. Curious how that’ll work. I guess there will be a Normandy like ship, so that even if you aren’t using them they are exempt from effects of time dilation

-Tunes in- So will there be character creator on this game??? does anybody know something I'm a very simple gaymer, give me gay men to romance and create my character and I will play There is mention of character customization on the website, though we don’t know much more than that. We will also have a set name apparently: “Jun Aslan”. So maybe more of a Shepard situation. And Jun is gender neutral.
