I BEAT THE TREMORTUSK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Took out the first four Rebel Soldiers, and then the second wave of three that came to 'investigate', silently - so the big lad wasn't alerted. Then set a shock tripwire and a blast trap (neither were going to hurt it much, but it was what I had), activated Stealth Valor Surge and knocked off one of it's tusks to do damage, weaken and draw it in to the traps.
All of that worked as intended, but then spent the next 20 minutes kiting around the area taking frost pot shots at the damn thing (as well as Sharpshot arrows). I tried to use the traps around the place (chillwater barrels, support logs etc), but the damn moved too much to line it up right. Reached the Kulrut and *insert Boromir gif here*...they have a giant fucking snake. Gave up after 4 deaths, as I have a late night for work tonight and was pretty tired.

Explosives work well on it in my experience, sling or explosive spears if you have them. Aim at the grinder things in its mouth using the sharp shot bow with precision arrows if you have them. Otherwise I assume Frost will slow it. What difficulty are you playing on?

So yes indeed I am officially torn. Wanting to wrap up this game and of course the nature of the game does make that a little hard to do. Interesting how quickly I hit the level cap though I do wonder how much of that was some of my earlier escapades. Though haven't made a tremndous deal of progress at least on the Sons of Prometheus front...I think. Did get a few more of the black boxes so I am stock piling them right now just in case I need them for later and dealing with the drones as well because...well I guess since I am not doing the Tallnecks gotta do some kind of data gathering with that. I did also run into another salvage contractor hub and they were just a bit under siege from a lot of machines. Came for them in like four waves with increasingly difficult machines. Kind of a fun bit of combat here. Then onto Legacy's Landfall...I will admit there was a great bit of visal storytelling as we get there and see a Stormbird flying over the ruins of San Francisco. Think they would be setting something up...but it didn't happen in the main part of the quest which brought me here at least. Also I really need to remember my blast sling more. Dealt with a...pretty sure an Apex Thunderjaw. Forgot how friggin huge those things were. And the thing was pretty much resistant to everything except for Acid. Did detach one weapon, got the acid going. And from there I should remember the Blast sling more. Since there was no other weaknesses the thing had decided to equip the high explosive ammo on it, aimed for one of the weapons on the thing, and I knocked it down from there. Like at half health one shot kill. It was glorious. Faro's TombI must say that this quest was one of the best quests between the two games. Although also had my first death of my campaign. But very limited combat and a lot of interesting character revelations and...well other revelations.
Essentially we got to learn Farro's fate. He tried to create...well harem might be the wrong word but I struggle to find a better one. And well he was also trying to figure out a way to achieve immortality and actually managed it, after a fashion. Also there was this CEO who claimed to be his...essence reincarnated. The benefits of having watched an LP its like 'ah yes this guy now I remember where this is going'. And the back story was done from logs because apparently he shacked up with a bunch of people, bunch of women, a scientist and his daughter, all in an effort to essentially give him this immortality. Although he also installed kill switches within everyone if they got uppity...which he definitley did.
So from here just a couple of thoughts- first of all is the CEO an actual genetic reincarnation/ clone of Ted Faro? I don't really think so given if that is the case he would've been able to open the door and there was nothing else hinting at it. Also given his plans for immortality he wouldn't have made a clone at all. But things are very suspicious and it would've been a very interesting little twist had it been and the two of them would've continued their struggle across all of time. Of course then this does become essentially thematic as he was acting exactly like Faro...and dressed Aloy up in Elizabet's 'rainments'. She actually looked kinda good in them.
Other thing is I always kind of assumed that Faro went insane from guilt in wiping out Apollo and thinking human knowledge was the root of all evil so it would all die with him and everything else and with them. Instead he made a specific reference of waiting around for Lizbet's kids. So the bastard killed off everyone and deleted Apollo in order to essentially be the guide for all of them and well...imprint himself on the future generations. Probably thought it would be his way of making up for his mistake. A whole other brand of sickening.
And it blew up on the Ceo as well as he ordered his men to kill Faro...and they did so but Faro had tied his life signs to the reactor so he died...it blew. And thought it was being set up for the Ceo to get killed by Faro and us then to have to fight Faro...but instead he made it for a bit, but sacrficed one of his men to try and get out of there...and then he was crushed by Faro's head.
Surprisingly enough another great scene the Lead Diviner, despite all the sucking up he was doing, was also rather onto the Ceo in the first place.

Ok - big snake is dead. Got hit with a hol'-up-a-minute from the Chaplain to find her grandson. Sure. Seems like an important detour from saving the world.
Find the grandson in a cage, and now there is a giant robot rhino? This game hates me.

I'm so glad I read your post. I was sitting here developing an aneurysm, trying to figure out which machine could be mistaken for a rhino. I've definitely heard hippo and rhino accidentally swapped in conversation, and probably swapped them myself, at some point.

Why are you not doing the Tallnecks they are the best and there is only one difficult one but once you can fly it is easier? If you want to wrap it up just follow the main quests and don't do anything else but some of the location side quests are worth doing.

I was sitting here developing an aneurysm Sorry EZ now there is a giant robot rhino? This game hates me. Are you referring to the Widemaws? Those are hippos. And they'd be cute if they didn't try to vacuum you up every chance they get. Not a widemaw, those are clearly hippos. I think this was labelled 'Behemoth'? It might be a unique or rare one? It didn't have a horn, but its head was more square and frame more - muscular, as weird as that sounds for a robot - than the widemaw's, so I just said rhino for some gentle comedy.

The Behemoths are tough but again you got to "git gud" at hitting the weak spots dude. If you find a machine that seems unbeatable, especially if you stumble on to it, run away get a vantage and scan it and see what it's weaknesses are elementally and part wise. IIRC The Behemoth has Flipper type things for digging, taking off a few of those with the Sharp Shot Bow will slow it down if not take it down completely on the lower levels. Gotta "keep on moving, don't stop grooving" sorry got side tracked but see Tay Tay knows how to "play play, play", she's a player. Damn might have to redownload the game, it's nagging me.

Maybe EZ isn't the only one having an aneurysm I will proceed with gittin' gud, as it seems to be the only option. I'll have a look around the area when I play next. Side note - the climb that the two Tenakth shared with Aloy was hilarious. For all the incredible visual fidelity in the game, they moved like it was the first game ever to experiment with ragdoll physics.

Ok - big snake is dead. Got hit with a hol'-up-a-minute from the Chaplain to find her grandson. Sure. Seems like an important detour from saving the world. Find the grandson in a cage, and now there is a giant robot rhino? This game hates me. Not often I see a girlfriend reviews in the wild like this. now there is a giant robot rhino? This game hates me. Are you referring to the Widemaws? Those are hippos. And they'd be cute if they didn't try to vacuum you up every chance they get. Those FNAF rejects give me the creeps *shivers* Speaking of getting good though... Faro's Term (Epilogue) So not much else to say on this but I did catch up with Alva after the fact and got a lot of information on the Quen and the CEO.
And confirmed once and for all that the Ceo wasn't a genetic reincarnation of Ted Faro. Only someone obssessed with him. So only thematically.
Though of course she also filled in other pieces of information. The Quen are from an 'Empire' who revered the ancesestors but particular ones amongst some of the others and used that knowledge to conquer and expand their teritory. The game is still being cute on where they are, what they have conquered, or how powerful they are, but when your two heroes are Ted Farro and Eric Veskar...one of the Zeniths...who they learned tactics from as well. Then it was telling that Alva upon reading info on what Erik is up to in the present suggests that his brutality surprised her which means that the Quen aren't too imperialistic and do have some standards. Though the situation where their Overseers hold back information from the rest of their people does make me think of the Memories in Orzamaar and some of the revelations there.
The other big piece of news though is she also did some commentary on Bodhai which seems to confirm some things about him and fills in the blanks. See during the quest he was a bit of a kiss ass to Ceo, always my lording him all over Thebes, but at the end he called the man an egotist. Still though that is also Alva's assessment of him which suggests to me the man was just a political toadie who was more then happy to go along with the Ceo to advance his own position, an opprotunist. Interesting stuff they have done with the Quen but I want to know more! Aside from that made it to getting the Forgefall bow from the Arena. Must say probably one of the more gorgeous looking bows yet but I am...intrigued a least. My Very Rare Bow with the strike through arrows right now is more powerful then it which means it needs to be upgraded and right now its missing an over draw function. Which is fun because I do love the OVerdraw function. Of course during one machine or another came up with a really fun tactic. I hit it with its plasma arrows until it triggered the elemental limit and then in order to not cancel it out I hit it with the plasma bolt blaster. When the MoD effect triggeredd it did like 900 points of damage. Either killed it or very near. And then a very annoying set piece. Off to face off against the Frostclaws round 2 and then they forced me back, I brought one of them down but they forced me back into the engagement zone of another group of machines...like Sun wings. So that was annoying, bleeding supplies rapidly, those things hit HARD. Btu I was able to get back to the initial Frostclaw site...where I discovered the thing's health regenerated and it was joined by more fire claws. So that was very annoying. Stuck through it though because I didn't want to retreat again and risk loosing all my effort...again. So I brought it down even without health barries but didn't get what I was after. Oh well. Probably will try and get one more legendary weapon from the Arena and then got the Sons of Prometheus to do but those are the two big side stuff I wanna do before probably going to start beelining the main plot.

Well, well...what have we here? Made some progress - Behemoth accounted for, AETHER reunited with GAIA and chatted with the crew. A new subroutine has made itself known and Beta was there, with another GAIA kernel. The first Spectre ate up all of Aloy's craftable Acid arrows, so the second one is proving a challenge. Nearly had it down before it took me out, so I'm giving it a rest for the night.

Decided to take dazk advice and try something out kind of out of educated desperation. Landfall remains largely unexplored by me so I decided to try and hack into the Tallneck there in order to try and get some of the map revealed there. Looking for...well hopefully the last Rebel Camp but that proved to be a forelorn hope. But I also knew there was a Stormbird in the area so that wasn't going to be too much of a problem and it wouldn't be that big of a waste of time. But it did look like at least at first that it was going to take up a lot of time. And it did. Thought I had to scan the stupid thing, like usual, but then it ended up giving a button prompt as I got close enough. That and then had to go running around trying to find a pair of Glinthawk nests. Side bar, kind of interesting implications sometimes with how much some of the machines seem to like taking apart the Tallnecks. It does make me wonder just if Hephastus can't hack them or something so it is trying to attack and salvage them. But during all this ran into some Snapmaws and didn't want to take a chance to deal with them in the water so I essentially used the Advanced Explosive bombs on the Blast Sling which basically turned it into depth charges. Also faced off against a Slaughterspine. And well not much time left to go but it ended up being enough. Finished up in the Arena and I finished off the Arena. At least pretty sure. Got enough to get the hunter bow. Which again sometimes these bows and stuff do not have the best payloads or what not...but hopefully they are good enough. Hmm wonder if I should actually swap out the other bow afterall...hmmm that might actually give me more flexibility. ANyways though I did face off against my second Stormbird of the night. Plasma arrows and what not really worked on the thing and blowing up its explosive. The battle against the final challenge of the elite bunch. Ended up blowing up essentially the Dreadwing and one of the snap maws at the same time.

Have you just tried googling the location, I don't remember having too much trouble finding Rebel camps are you sure you have progressed that quest far enough? I am associating Rebel camps with Regalla which is obviously a main quest. There is some irony here given how tonight's play session went, but I actually did. So yes, fun bit here after trying to look up one end of the West and down the other...well I did try looking on google on it yesterday to confirm a few things. I had the full intention of doing it again tonight...but when I loaded in I peaked at the map for a second to try and get my bearings and there was the usual 'fog of war' stuff going on in there so I am like 'OK its probably there'...and before I could even reach for the phone to google it...there it was. Quite annoying in a way, but in that fun video game way. So I went to do it and...I guess not too much to report then on the first Camp I did for the night. Oh no wait that was the camp where I tried to get too cute and snuck up on someone and they turned at the last minute just as the 'silent strike' prompt appeared on the screen. Oh and actually to at the end I used a smoke bomb for the first time in combat, was expecting to be able to throw it but it still worked and it let me silent strike someone. The next one, the leader however, didn't seem to fall so easiy, smoke bomb right in the face but didn't actually break contact enough I think. So I basically decided to go into the ultimate over kill and set up a plasma bolt caster sustained burst. Back to the base to talk to Errend and also expecting to go around and talk to the other companions and even Gaia as I continue to go through the dialogue. Except when I went up to Gaia it forced me into the first bit with Gemini with Beta being a little...Beta. The fun part though is I went to talk to Gaia afterwards about what I wanted to and she was like 'shouldn't you go check in.'...and spoilers just in case. So the scene between Aloy and Beta was actually pretty nice. I'd almost be willing to call it a genuine sense of character development. Beta was trying to identify what made her different, what kind of defect she had, in order to be so different from Aloy...and ALoy said nothing. That it was Rost. Beta wasn't defective but Aloy always had someone out there believing in her...yeah I just decided this is a pretty good arc for her this time around. Even telling Beta that she would be able to do it without her if they needed to. And well Beta took her up on the offer though with a promise to have Aloy kill her if things go pear shaped...I do know how that little bit works out. Oof. Yeah I just remembered.
And from there to...well Errend found the location we needed for the final Rebel Camp with the mad as hell Oseram. It was a fun little mission to because, with my new legendary bow, I was able to use the lightning arrows on it to stun the human enemies...which opened them up to critical strikes. Asera herself was a little bit of a unit as she was able to tank multiple head shots from my bow as well. It was a bit of a fun mission with a fun result to. Interestingly enough she actually had a legendary bow on her...which is pretty much an upgraded version of the Wildfire bow...with frost arrows on top of it. So I think with my loadout I pretty much have all the bases covered for elemental damage...aside from purgewater. Have to double check the stats I realized but honestly even without overdraw its a pretty sweet bow. Between that and the other one from the Arena. So pretty much just have to find the last of the Rebel Camps and then its pretty much smooth sailing from there. Gotta decide whether or not I wanna play Dragon Age Inquisition next, for obvious reasons, or if there will be enough time before Veilguard comes out to play Fallout 4 first.

That Aloy and Beta scene is probably one of the best in either of the games.

Hmm...does the prototype thingy you get from the two sisters/inventors in ...oh god, um...chainscape?...have explosive ammo? I have that. If it is explosive, then yes. I think one of my other bows has it as well. Yeah the one from Boomer is a "Boomstick", I can't remember how good that first one is, there are better ones you can get but give it a go. I found Spears to be one of the best weapons in the game. Also do you have a Blast Sling, a sling with Explosive Ammo they are pretty good as well but you need to be a bit closer. Frost is super effective to at least stop machines so you can then blow them up with a sling or damage them with anything. The Boomstick was the winner. I died one more time, then gave up on the Heavy Weapon that had detached from a machine and focused on The Boom. Worked pretty well, really. Aloy was barely even touched. Beta is...a little anxious, it's fair to say. I get it. Her life has likely been...awful, but the level of dread she expressed when she discovered Aloy didn't have HEPHAESTUS yet was extreme. I'm sure it'll make sense a bit later on, though. Fixed up a Tallneck that had been damaged by bringing it down with anchors fired from ballista, and cleared a few machine spots. Made it to the location for POSEIDON, which is something I think featured in either the marketing or in a video that popped into my feed before I got the game. I haven't interacted with the two guys there yet, but I'm sure I remember seeing this exact spot.
