Dragon Age: The Veilguard Xbox Showcase Trailer

Have you watched any of the past cinematic trailers? They never look like in game graphics. Leliana and Morrigan in the Sacred Ashes trailer are unrecognizable, and the DAI trailers had a similar art style to this one.

People just want to complain and be upset these days, I guess.

Yeah Leliana and Morrigan looked FAAAARRRR different in their CG trailers lol. The artstyle is fine, I feel that folks are overreacting. Not helped with Youtubers ready to rip the game apart under the guise of it being "woke". lol. 

Sometimes marketing is gonna do a poop. Sadly, Dragon Age is no stranger to this and the devs don't seem to have that much power to decide versus what marketing says based on whatever graphs they cooked up with focus groups.

Just rewatched the trailer with no sound and what do you know it does look better somehow. Also, the character presentation thingie is just silly. If they had not put those in trailer and went with another music I guess the trailer would go down much better.

Now Mark Darrah describing this as the best Bioware trailer of all time is just beyond me....

They should have made sure to release an epic trailer to make people go crazy with anticipation for the gameplay reveal. Looking at the trailer ratio on youtube they just blew it right from the start....

That gameplay better hit hard!

What's different here? Qunari girl looks pretty much the same as far as I can tell with the blurriness going on here?

Totally agree. But Mark said "Honestly thats the .. my favorite bioware trailer i think we've ever done". But hey, its his opinion. In my opinion is the most "missed the mark" trailer they've ever done.

So other notes:

The marketing is actually right on track compared to Inquisition. We've had our teasers, our world reveal, and now our companion reveal, this time all of them and not just three. Forgot what came next exactly if it was their first gameplay demo or the trailer(s) focusing on the Inquisitor but we know we're at least getting one of those Tuesday.

Also Varric was in a bar in his trailer in Inquisition. Didn't seem to be doing any recruiting. Heh just realized though that is kinda how I thought we were going to be recruited.

Disappointing.
This looks like a mobile shooter game, not an AAA title. The tone seems to pick right up where the terrible Netflix show left off. Where is the dark fantasy, where is the threat, where the hell is Solas?
Why do the faces look like plastic?
This is NOT what I have been waiting for.
