Lucanis Dellamorte - Official Companion Thread [Spoilers]

Hm, didn't have the impression Neve stayed mad until the end for me, it actually felt like I had resolved everything with her. She has a couple sidequests in Minrathous still and during these we bonded again. Even got her Bond up to 8 again I believe.

Eventually I got a few minutes of Lucanis being vulnerable, reminded me a bit of what kept me attached to Fenris and Zevran. But less than 5 minutes of romance content at the absolutely worst time... as a player I was experiencing grief and stress about the reveal. I imagine my Rook to be having a really emotional bad feeling overall as well.... And that 5 minutes was in an 82 hour game. No repeatable kissing scene, can't even click on him to make him talk. Exactly one banter line with Neve about how he looks good with a smile. Cameo "hearing about a relationship" where Rook and Lucanis have not even hugged yet?

What was that, honestly? Dragon Age has always been falling in love while saving the world for me. For years, that's how I sold it. And then Dragon Age forgot the falling in love part?

It took the video and our conversations about him but I finally understand. Lucanis really likes Rook but his entire arc is sort of about not trusting himself because of Spite being inside. Doesn't even trust himself to sleep, which explains why he's always constantly drinking coffee even when it looks inappropriate. Kinda sweet when you think about it, that Anders has no concerns about taking the spirit Justice into a relationship, but Lucanis does. Not that I needed another reason to be angry at Anders, I worked out those demons years ago. But it does show that it's not a joke to be involved with someone possessed by another spirit and it's actually a very level headed response to not just ignore it and hope for the best, or even make a joke of it.

And then he nearly loses Rook and he's just like... I and Spite haven't turned into an abomination so far and I could only think of all the regrets of never even holding Rook in my arms while she was gone. I must go to her.

If there had been actual handholding or even sitting on the couch closely drinking coffee. Just...more. Even Fenris got three scenes, the sex one and the getting back together one and the end game one where he's really passionate. It could have been DA2 amount of stuff and they didn't even do that.

Oh, I hadn't realized that was a romance specific scene. I thought even friend Rook could go, just like we can go with Taash for drinks. We're talking about the one where Rook awkwardly looks up from a chair and they just smile at each other without touching?
