Factions and Backgrounds, What’ll you be?

I am going with lords of fortune for my first play through since I'm looking at Beining a warrior to protect my beloved Harding.

Probably Veil Jumper first. Has a Pathfinder from Andromeda mixed with a Lara Croft kind of feel from what we know so far.

Grey Warden, if only because after playing FemHawke and a FemCadash Rogue I want to throw it back to my roots and play a human male warrior again, so I may as well go all the way on it. Second playthrough, probably a quanari mage Lord of Fortune.

Definitely Warden for nostalgia purposes and to see how the world interacts with them post Adamant and if that changes based on choices in Inquisition. And because Solas will be extra salty towards a warden in particular. Looks very fun.

And Lords of fortune because it sounds really cool and reminds me of a certain pirate.

None of these immediately jump out. I'll go with Mourn Watch. Elite guards of the Grand Necropolis sounds cool. Shadow Dragons are a second. The anti-slavery and anti-corruption angle sounds good.

The rest I don't like.

The Veil Jumpers/Lords of Fortune seem a little boring to me or just a bunch of petty criminals.

The Antivan Crows are just the mafia with how they have supplanted the crown in Antiva coupled with raising child soldiers. Not a fan of them.

I've disliked the Grey Wardens since the beginning of DAO and I've stymied them every chance I get. I did give them Blackwall though since he's a murder.

I am curious as to why a member of the Mourn Watch would be in Tevinter when the story opens.

I’m really at a loss here. I think I’ve been waiting for this for so long, that I want it to be perfect, but I just don’t know what that means yet.

Do I play an elf because of all the elven lore or is that ‘boring’ if my Solavellan is back? Does my Rook believe it if/when people say redeem/kill Solas, even if my Inquisitor said the opposite, thus making me wnat to meta to see the result?

Totally overthinking this, I know.

I kinda wish we could choose something more neutral. I just want to jump into it and figure it out as I go. I think my main issue is, I have no idea what type of Rook I’ll make. It’s difficult to figure out what faction they’d be in if I don’t know who they are yet. It’s also annoying not knowing what’s being carried over from the previous games. That might affect what world state I’d pick and thus, what PC I’d like to be.

I chose Lords of Fortune, but most likely I will do a playthrough for each faction

I voted for Mourn Watch. They said we can combine any race, class, and faction, and, with the return of healing magic, I am going to play a Qunari mage. It was also mentioned that I don't have to be an elementalist/Primal mage (incinerate, freeze, electrocute and crush. I suppose it could be earth/stone spells, but I heard mention of gravity, so...).

Shadow Dragons or Veil Jumpers. Not sure which.
