So you're trying to sit on his favorite chair and then whoop! - it moves away just as you're trying to sit on it. You want to take his diary from a nighstand? BAM! - the drawer shuts and you're left with sore fingers. That all would be pretty hilarious! I wouldn't mind a little Larianesque comedy. Not a lot. Just a little. Oh dear Lord, I've had an even worse thought. What if he can listen in on our "intimate" moments? Or starts to give advice about Fade sex. That's going to be a real passion killer for me. I'm definitely going to ask for PRIVATE quarters. That was the point of my little joke above where he interrupts an intimate "let's get it on" moment with Harding so he can go over reports.

DA:I had amazing environments, AND FINALLY, someone realized that hey, just because there's demons and cultists and blood magic and red lyrium, doesn't mean that sun is going to stop shining and that skies can't be clear. The Hinterlands are so beautiful. The Emerald Graves? Marvelous. Crestwood has this great change from dark, moody, hopeless to sunny and cheery when you clear the big rift. I just can't get immersed into vast RPG worlds that are just monotone, washed out colors and the weather is always crap. Overall Inquisiton gives you a lot of variety in terms of environments, and I really enjoy that (though a day-and-night cycle and some random weather conditions would've added a lot).
Though there is definitely something as too much color and the artstyle and environments being too cartooney to the point it ruins the mood and vibe, but we shall see. I think there's a lot of subtlety in DA:I (in terms of special effects and such) which ultimately dials back a lot of the supposed cartooney and bright elements.

Some sort of entity witnesses even your most intimate moments, like... always Absolutely, and some of the annoying ones like to let you know they have, like Cole, and don't seem to get that it is not appropriate. Another instance would be Anders telling you that Justice does not approve of his relationship with you. It starts to creep you out after a while. Ignorance is definitely bliss where spirits are concerned.

I mean, it sorta happened in Inquisition already ;P Honestly, haven't they heard of knocking first and waiting for an answer? Or did Bull and the Inquisitor just leave the door open? Still, in DAO we were having sex in a tent in the middle of camp, so thinking about it that wasn't very private either. At least in DA2 we had our own bedroom upstairs, although Dog had his own ideas about our privacy I seem to recall.

I think people are assuming a little too much from what happens at the very beginning of the game. That aside, I really hope the Inquisitor at least has the option to live through the whole game. If he dies no matter what I do, I will be very unhappy. My guess is that we should prolly prepare ourselves for "who stays in the Fade" scenario, like in case of Hawke and Alistair/Loghain/Stroud in Inquisition. Although who'd will be choosing between remains an open question - Solas? Morrigan? Varric? ...Rook? I really hope not. I want the personal satisfaction of butchering him.

Rook: so Neve want to go take a look at that lamp in my quarters. *wiggles eyebrows suggestively* Neve: *flirting* anything Rook. Rook leads her on and is about to close the door. Solas: a moment Rook. Rook: startled: sweet Andraste! Neve: *alarmed* what?! Rook: it's Solas again. Neve: you do know you're the only one who can hear him right? Makes a girl wonder.

Josephine and Cassandra show up after the door is opened, so are just scarred for life. Yeah, it’s mentioned in a scene with Merrill.

That already happened with Inquisition and to a degree Dragon Age II, I do not think it praiseworthy, the opposite as it is far from a unique look especially today. Oversaturation of colour both literal and figurative has become a blight upon the industry in ways the Darkspawn could only dream of. Give me nice colors and contrasts, any day of the week frankly -it will age better. Same with the style. If you took a shot every time purple energy appeared during the Xbox showcase you might have died. Colour does not make things age much better, a strong sense of art direction does that, Dragon Age if anything became steadily more generic since Origins. Now Origins and things with more monotone or subtle art direction are the outlier in fantasy.

Origins didn't look the best overall and 2 wasn't much better, worse even. Inquisition was the first time the series looked halfway descent.

I am not saying Origins aged well visually, I think the original Gears of War did, Beyond Good & Evil, Dead Space, Arkham Asylum, Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge did. (All titles from before or around the release of Origins.)
It's just that I thought Inquisition and Dragon Age II really struggled with a sense of identity in their art direction more than the original entry, and The Veilguard seems to continue that trend; looking more like a mixture of what's hot than anything that's unique.

Hmm I dunno about that. What I have seen so far looks very in line with 2 and DAI especially DAI. The gameplay trailer looked like DAI on steroids which is to be expected from a game with the graphical advances of the past ten years or so but the architecture, elven monuments, fashion all looked pretty DA to me.

Colour does not make things age much better, a strong sense of art direction does that, Dragon Age if anything became steadily more generic since Origins. Now Origins and things with more monotone or subtle art direction are the outlier in fantasy. Well, it's like you said - color does not make things age much better, and that is true to DAO and color palette that was popular at the time as well. Individual preferences aside, that seems to be also a popular sentiment across the gamer population - not that many people miss the 'sepia-dominant' period in game design. To not say anything about DAO being quite generic as far as design goes - it's just generic to things that were popular in 2009, so the only thing that makes it an 'outlier' now is age. It's survivorship bias in a nutshell. This is obviously my preference of course, but I'd rather risk taking a shot every time purple energy appeared during Xbox showcase, than look at sepia tones virtually at all times. Because at least when combat's over, I can enjoy a multitude of other palettes, and we already saw that we'll enjoy many of them in DAV - Minrathous looks very different compared to Arlathan Forest, and what we saw of Weishaupt, Antiva or Rivain looks different too.

And probably earlier, considering that DAI and DAV, for a time at least, were supposed to be one chapter. I assume that, back then, it's the Anchor that connected our PC to Solas. True indeed, in fact this game design document was revealed only 7 months after release of Trespasser DLC.

Wait what? Solas will be in our head like some uncool Johnny Silverhand? Oh dear I hope not. The only thing the GI magazine write is that Rook's hear Solas voice while dreaming during the transition between the end of the prologue to waking up in the Lighthouse (Solas gives some exposition and the way it is described it seems to be a monologue even). There is also zero mention of Solas talking to Rook in the 2nd mission covered by the magazine.
So don't pay attention to all the people claiming Solas is in Rook's head. He's not, he's trap in the Fade and at best can only communicate with Rook when Rook is dreaming.
Also, that means he can corrupt someone among your group without you knowing when they dream...and he's good at that.

Hmmm... considering that we have hints that we may see Solas from times he was young - what if Rook involuntarily pries into Solas' head?
