Can I just say that I love the word nincompoop? What a lovely insult - it sounds like something invented by a furious 6-year-old, I love it Is nincompoop a word many people are unfamiliar with? Am I showing my age, here? I've heard of it years earlier, but it's not one I hear often, hence my reaction

Why wouldn't he answer that question? Why did he fear telling them too much? Which of course means there was more to tell and it might have helped us figure it out. So either he was deliberately withholding it in order to provoke them into discovering more, likely to aid his purpose, or he was just being perverse. I would suspect he has no idea how he's going to destroy this world at that time. He's probably still working on his plan to get everything right so he can succeed. He also has no reason to answer the question. If anything, I wouldn't have said a thing. The less known of his purpose, the less you have to worry about being stopped.

Nah, it's not the time for Goldfinger to reveal the entirety of his scheme to Mr. Bond.

I would expect more nuance and would genuinely be disappointed with such a writing choice...and frankly doubtful they'd do such. They've done a good job thus far with dichotomous writing...with Wardens as presented in DAO/DAI and the Mage/Templar conflict across the first 3 games. Every game has presented the Crows as being exactly as I described. There’s no morally grey with a faction that enslaves children to be child soldiers and murder anyone for money and to hold onto power. The only Crow people like from those games is the one who defects and is now hunting them all down. And we know they’re hated in Antiva too, since even with the fate of the world Josephine does not want to work with them. So to give them nuance now to make them likable is whitewashing, pure and simple, and I’m despising it. I think there could be nuance here. Someone within the organization who wants to see it changed into a more reputable faction could act as a "subversive" element within the group. You still have the Crows being power-hungry, but not everyone within the faction agrees. Maybe a choice surrounding your interaction with them could be deciding if you want them to stay as cut-throat as they currently are, or have them go through this change in leadership. If you choose the former, you get a more unified organization to assist you, but deals a blow to your reputation with other factions/NPCs. If you choose the latter, it creates a schism within the organization, which makes them less effective in giving you valuable information, but you sparking the act is seen as favorable among others.

Is nincompoop a word many people are unfamiliar with? Am I showing my age, here? I've heard of it but then I am a veteran player, so may be it is generational thing. I am far more likely to be befuddled (another word of my youth) by urban slang or initialised text speak and have to look that up.

Even if becoming Herald was by chance, it was because they made a decisive action and charged into a room to help after hearing someone call out for it. I wouldn't actually call it "charged into the room" as such. Also, notice how it is Justinia who bats the anchor out of Cory's hand. Definitely a sequence of lucky events. It is also strange how the orb is glowing green when usually it glows red when Cory is using it, he loses it, we pick it up and yet he still recovers it. Apparently, it is our touching it that transfers the anchor to us and unlocks it creating the explosion that kills everyone except Cory but we didn't retain our hold on the orb. So, supposing we hadn't touched it and Cory had completed the ritual, would the anchor have transferred to him? If so, what would Solas have done then? Presumably he expected to recover the anchor from Cory's corpse or did he not think Cory would discover how to do the ritual to create the anchor? If Cory had the anchor, presumably he would have just opened up the Veil and re-entered the Black City. Lots of questions. My point is that we merely attended the Conclave as a spy or as part of our official duties or an interested party, not specifically to stop the ritual which should never have happened if security had acted as it should. By contrast Rook was part of a group intent on stopping the ritual, which they did. Also, there was a lot of manipulation going on when it came to our reputation. Both Cassandra and Leliana allow people to believe we are the Herald of Andraste as it helps with establishing the credibility of the Inquisition. Note that whilst we may have played our Inquisitor as a noble defender of the people, there was even the option of being a cringing coward when confronted by Corypheus at Haven. Then Giselle continues the manipulation by prompting the singing of the faithful. Even after we discover the truth everyone is advising that we don't actually tell the general public or regular soldiers for the good of morale. When we march against Cory and his minions in the Arbor Wilds, Cullen still encourages people by invoking the name of the Herald and Morrigan makes specific reference to the fact that we have become more of a religious figurehead. Of course, this is nothing new. Our Warden was simply the Hero of Ferelden in the memory of the people and Hawke was the Champion of Kirkwall, celebrated with a statue that bore a strange resemblance to Andraste. The only difference is that the Warden and Hawke gained that title later in the game, whilst the Herald had it almost from the beginning. It is also noticeable how the Herald part had quietly been forgotten about when they wanted to get rid of our organisation. I must admit, I share the curiosity of Solas in that VA clip from 2020 and wonder when he asks it: "They call my the Dread Wolf, what will they call you?" What will be our title? Or will we always be merely Rook?

The author of those articles said that he didn't get to see or learn anything about creating the inquisitor. Might be like Hawke where we only make them when we meet? That will save some hours in the character creator

I normally don't mess with tattoos but them having body tattoos does open up possibilities. I like tattoos. I have tattoos on my arms and shoulders representing the time I was in the military. They make for good conversations. The author of those articles said that he didn't get to see or learn anything about creating the inquisitor. Might be like Hawke where we only make them when we meet? That will save some hours in the character creator Hopefully there is an export/transfer/save button to use for the Inq if I choose to have them look like my main character.

That will save some hours in the character creator The devs already said that we'd be able to customize our Inquisitors and choose what happened during DAI from select tarot cards - from heir words I assume that we customize them at the start. The fact that the article's author didn't see that doesn't mean it isn't there - the full GI article makes it clear that he was only observing the devs playing and he likely only saw what they were prepared to show him. ...Though the fact that the author didn't see Inky may also support the theory that Varric is a stand-in for Inquisitor, that is there if we don't pick or customize Inky (I wonder then what happens to default Inky tho? How are they going to set them up?)

Going to be interesting to, been thinking so far each story has basically followed on from the cover article. If I remember correctly there is not much left, which is kind of duh, but wonder what will be next. A lighthouse feature? A feature on the story?
Edit: actually this could be the last one.

If were able to pick whatever for the Inq during their time during DAI, what about the time after? Did they spend the last ten years chasing around after solas? Will there be a preset for the player to choose from explaining what they did for the last 10 years?
