I suspect DA5 will be less connected to Veilguard than Veilguard was a direct sequel to Inquisition. Event the best ending of Veilguard is basically " gotta rebuild all of Thedas except Nevarra". Either the next game has a big timeskip to hide the effect of the Blight/ex-Antaam or...it's more smaller scale. Don't think we are using Eluvians to teleport around again.

The Qunari left because of the Devouring Storm (so cataclysm). And there are people who live somewhere beyond the Volca Sea who rarelly shows up to trade to Laysh in the Anders. Barely speak the common tong and their ships were always captained by Dwarves and zero elves among the crew. The last news is that there was cataclysm where they lived. Every expeditions from Thedosians on the Volca, Amaranthine and Boeric seas/oceans never returned.

I know how much of a wet blanket I sound about it, but I'm anti-hyped to wait years, maybe even another decade, for them to tell me everything has been the fault of the Dragon Age Illuminati. The Executors existing as the next villain would have been fine, but not if they have to undermine everything that came before it.
Though we still have the Titans and the Qun, why are we making the Executors the big bad this late?

Not a fan myself at all. Does this imply to anyone else that the Magisters entered the fade because of the Executors? Because that's what seeming implied here. That works against what DAV revealed in the game itself. Magisters being whispered makes sense and it's all good with me.
Loghain being whispered is a terrible one though. It effectively destroyed what makes him compelling.

I think I'm right in saying: [About companion survivability] That every companion is quantum. You can't kill everyone, but you can kill anyone. That rules out reappearances unless BW suddenly gets a taste for carrying over more choices, which seems doubtful.

I’ll say this, whoever the new villains are, BioWare please do not reuse the Venatori again as their minions.
They are the most half baked and boring group in this franchise.

We thought Veilguard will be all about stopping Solas, based on the ending of Trespasser. That went on for about 20 minutes.
So I am not overreacting to what the antagonists of DA5 will be in 10 years time.
For all we know, the influence over Loghain could have been giving him the actual correspondence between Cailan and Celene (even though he denies knowing about it in DAO) or some similar minor event.
I second the vote for "No Venatori". I'll take an evil corrupted Dorian instead.

Loghain being whispered is a terrible one though. It effectively destroyed what makes him compelling. Loghain was guided, not whispered to. It point at Howe. The Magisters were balanced and the image is a new version of the first scene you ever see in Dragon Age Origin unless you skip the intro story trailer. I pointed out a few times in the Crazy Theory thread that it was weird there was only 5 magisters in the fresco trailer. Well now, there are 7 once you add the two shadowy figures. Only Bertrand was whispered to and we know he bought the location of the thaig from some random dude...and that he was hearing whispers. DAO story trailer:

And I just realized with my last post that Howe was the Arl of Aramanthine and the Architect was hanging out around there. And I believe it was the priest of Beauty who was arguing against building the defense against those across the sea in that codex in DAVe.

We thought inquisition is gonna be about the Mage Templar war, and it was some lame darkspawn.
We thought the Veilguard is gonna be about Solas, and it was two Elven gods, not much better.
We think DA5 is about Thedas Illuminati. I don't know if it's better or worse for the pattern to continue and the next game has something else

the next game has something else I'm pretty sure only a vague half-baked idea exists currently (hugely subject to change). They tend to incorporate stuff they cuts from previous games into the next one, but they didn't reuse their DAI plans for the Architect in DAVe. Also who knows what they cut for Veilguard (I heard the artbook has a lots of cut stuff in it, including Joplins stuff). Saying that, I expected to be done with the Blight at the end of Veilguard when I was in Act 1, but the ending of the games makes me think the total opposite now. And every DA games has focused on blighted/tainted something...even if we didn't know it.

I like the idea the beyond the boundaries of Thedas, there is a "devouring force", which for some reason could not reach Thedas itself (yet).
If the "entities within the Storm" somehow (via red lyrium is my bet) influenced the ancient Magisters, Loghain, Bartrand, Meredith, and the happily watched popcorn in hand as Corypheus, and then the last of the Evanuris, destroyed and imprisoned each other forever (not before havinig release huge quantities of red lyrium and blight upon the lands)... I would say that they WANT being Thedas blighted and tainted.
Or at least weakend and thrown into chaos.
It sounds (again) a lot like ME btw, the Reapers waiting beydond the Galaxy, waiting for thier agents to clear the way, and subtly influencing events in certain way via indoctrination (like the Rachni war etc).

They also say “The storm quelled” when Ghilan’nain is shown (before mentioning the sun for Elgar’nan and the wolf for Solas)
Could there be a tie to her? Her sea monster perhaps?

I know that Elgar'nan was still using the Blight, but I assumed the "storm" was the Blight in regards to how Ghilan'nain was able to control it. This makes me think that the "devouring Storm" may also be Blight related or something similar. The Kossith were created to fight this, with fire, and we know the blight is weak to fire. We also know that the Blight comes from the Titans, and the Titans have "found their dreams." I am hoping the Executors are advanced golems executing orders and plans on behalf of the awakened Titans. Veilguard wasn't the blight to end all blights - that is still to come and the Titans are pissed! ...or not .

I would say that the Blight is "under control" now.
The heart of the Blight is still confined behind the Veil and the Black/Golden City is still very difficult to reach.
The blighted Evanuris are gone. All 7 Archdemons are dead. The most powerful of the Ancient Magisters (Cory) is also dead, the Architect is possibly dead too (or paeceful).
The Titans found their dreams so, while the existent Red Lyrium (blighted Lyrium) is still there and can "spill over" from tears in the Veil, no more red lyrium will be created.
The Blight went "all in" in Veilguard and lost, I would say. They have no good cards left to play (at least, nothing we are aware of)

I'm a bit blighted out myself and it does seem like it was taken care of, for the most part. Also, to consider the Executors are the ones to say "storm quelled" seems to imply they don't have the same sort of storm. So, maybe not the Blight then, but something similar?

It's also the name of the related achievement. I was thinking that it was a reference to what she was doing at Weisshaupt. She was a storm... Unless there is some stuff we don't know about, no idea... The Titans found their dreams so, while the existent Red Lyrium (blighted Lyrium) is still there and can "spill over" from tears in the Veil, no more red lyrium will be created. Harding's personal quest showed that red lyrium is created by anger, it's not tainted/blighted by default. And only blighted red lyrium behave like...fungus.

How did the Titans “find their dreams” and what does that mean? The Blight still exists though, right? Just without the “supercharged” version Ghilan’nain created and without the call of the old gods to guide the darkspawn. So we should see the remaining darkspawn basically acting like poisonous disunited orc tribes now, with leaders like the remaining magisters or emissaries, or just big strong ones emerging to lead sections of the horde.
