Finished the game. Sad thoughts and replays [Full spoilers]

While I didn't figure out varric was dead, some things in the game were super fishy to me that I found to be off. I thought it was lazy writing until the big reveal lol.
It bothered me that he never had conversations with folks in the lighthouse. I felt like everyone was ignoring him lol. And at the group scenes I was like. This guy has a bum leg and is in bed all the time! Why is he standing why isn't anyone giving him a chair?!
I also felt like his injuries should've been curable. He didn't seem so hurt to be out of commission forever.
