The Carver Hawke Thread - Time to prove something!

I kinda wish I was on pc so I could record/screenshot stuff but then I'd spend more time trying to get good shots than actually playing.

Fexelea should be able to get DA2 onto fextralife. ME1 and 2 have been imported, but 3 hasn't yet. It'll just take more time.

Carver's one of my favorite characters in the franchise. From the moment he turned his grumpy little face on me, I loved him. I remember the original Carver thread on the BSN - it's loooooong buried, but I had a ton of fun lurking there. I love how he sticks up for Hawke even when he's wrestling with his own issues and feelings of resentment, I love his adorable crush on Merrill, I love how he grows as a person when he's out of Hawke's shadow. He really comes into his own and I'm ridiculously proud of him.

It helps that Lukas Kristjanson wrote him. He's written several of my favorite characters.

You are not alone with this feeling, you can see also here. But I agree, that Carver was written for mage Hawkes counter point. This is why I like him as templar. Only in one of my games he died, because I did not take Anders with me to the Deeproads – because he hate the Deeproads... (I don't use wiki before I done with 1-2 playthrough). (I found Bethany boring, maybe I need some more try with her.)

My Hawke took Bethany at Deep Roads, because Kirkwall seems more dangerous for a mage, than the Deep Roads – so: Bethany became Grey Warden (I often don't use the meta knowledge). (Also for his safety, my Hawkes don't takes Carver to Deep Roads...)

Yes you right, I maybe will try Bethany again, but I will miss Carver... Somehow I will persuade myself to leave her home, Even though at first it does not seem logical choice if you do not use meta-knowledge.

Warrior/Rogue Hawke and Carver were said to have been part of King Cailan's army at Ostagar. But does anyone know if they actually participated in the battle of Ostagar or did they leave before that?

Yes, Carver and Aveline state it in the prologue. If you are a Mage, Carver gestures to himself and says "I've been running since Ostagar." but if you are a Warrior or Rogue he gestures to himself and Hawke while saying "We've been running since Ostagar." Aveline will also recognize you as being from a unit there if you are a Warrior or Rogue.
