But when it comes writing about women of color by stereotyping them in a negative way, that's a problem that I see. I say if they're going to write about people of color either write about them with human qualities without stereotypes or don't write any. As I said, it's not a negative way, they write Isabella, it's your vision of the world. How many women do you have in BW games, or in this game who are black with "bad" behavoiurs"? If you concentrate on the negative you will only see it. It all about how you apprehend life. Even if you went through bad judgments, it's your personal scale. What you feel inside of you in return. Your judgment criteria demonstrate you focus too much on that point. What you think, you make it live. That's why I wrote an Isabella's quote, it's so true: They don't know me. I know me. Look there's a fundamental difference of how different people see things, but it doesn't change the fact that she's a Jezebel who sleeps with anyone. I mean damn! The first time I played I had a snarky do-gooder sort of Hawke but still managed to get Isabela's friendship (in the end) and have her return with the relic. Don't know how I did it, but it happened.  Also did a friendmance with her, which was very sweet.  Anders: You're not nearly as selfish as you seem. Isabela: Hey! You take that back! Anders: I always knew you had a heart of gold. Isabela: ...Don't tell anyone.  You have your relic. She stays with us. |

A "fundamental" difference seems the most apt word for how you happen to things... or do you usually refer to woman you happen to disapprove of by derogatory terms that went out of fashion in the mid-1800s? Forgive me, but how is a woman enjoying and owning her sexuality any of your business, as well as give you a right to judge her? Isabela's sexuality plays no role in her decision making, nor does it have any impact upon the story whatsoever beyond whether or not she's romanced. All in all, I'd say you're definitely reaching here. |

Oh Isabela, why did you leave me? I thought I was your friend!  That was one of the things that really bugged me about the friendship/rivalry system in DA2 - how easy it was to sometimes remain in the middle, aka no man's land, with some companions. See, my Hawke was sarcastic and did nice things, which Isabela liked, but she also did not approve of smuggling and/or thievery, which Isabela did. Hence, she left me to fight the qunari alone. Ugh, I really liked you Isabela...  Yeah, that was how my first playthrough went with her. *sigh* After that, I did a trip to the dragon wiki to see what I did wrong, and immediately played again. Not to add fuel to the fire, but Isabela apparently slept with Seneschal Bran for the sole purpose of getting him to have his tax collectors not call on Fenris anymore, to shake him down for rent for a mansion he was only squatting in.
I know that in certain people's demented little brains that's abhorrent and proof of some pseudo-scientific racist blep mlem mlem... but to me, that's a surprisingly selfless act from her and shows how much Isabela is willing to go the extra mile to help her friends, even if it means taking one for the team (literally) and knocking boots with a complete tool.
