Not to add fuel to the fire, but Isabela apparently slept with Seneschal Bran for the sole purpose of getting him to have his tax collectors not call on Fenris anymore, to shake him down for rent for a mansion he was only squatting in. I know that in certain people's demented little brains that's abhorrent and proof of some pseudo-scientific racist blep mlem mlem... but to me, that's a surprisingly selfless act from her and shows how much Isabela is willing to go the extra mile to help her friends, even if it means taking one for the team (literally) and knocking boots with a complete tool. Wait, where is this said?

It's heavily implied in one of the cutscenes with Fenris at his mansion, where Isabela is seen explaining that Fenris doesn't have to worry about Bran's tax-collectors anymore, but he cuts her off before she can explain why it's a "funny story"... as well as in a cutscene with Anders, where Bran is shown at his clinic getting cured of "an itch" he acquired from sleeping with a pirate.

Seems like connecting two unrelated points to me. With Isabela having a funny story about getting the tax collectors away from Fenris, we know there are many ways Isabela can get what she wants and I don't see her seeing sleeping with them as a funny story compared to some other way, like say cheating them in a game. With Bran getting his STD treated, it could be he slept with Isabela but we also know he is a promiscuous man like for example him visiting the Blooming Rose, even using Serendipity as his date to Chateau Haine.

I always thought that line in Anders' scene was just a joke since she needs to be in the party for it to happen. Otherwise she's the one getting treatment.

True, the two events might be unrelated, but the presence of Bran and Isabela in both events leads me to suspect that there's some connection between the two event. Isabela having a quick tryst with Bran to get his tax collectors off Fenris' back would be a logical conclusion to make and something that's in-character for her to have done.
Isabela's tone when she brings up the "funny story" relating to it and Fenris' quick attempt to change the subject also leans to whatever happened being romp-related, since we know she frequently bring up memorable (or bizarre) encounters in party banter.
That does not mean this confirms it by any means, but as I said before, would imply it.

I do like the idea of something further implied there, so I kind of always make sure that she's with me whenever the particular scene with Bran is about to play. I like to see some more depth in her character, even if it's just implied. It's so easy for her to be labelled as just the 'harlot' and all her other aspects of her character to be disregarded as inconsequential, it reaches to unfair levels.
Anyway, onto less serious stuff now. I do believe this used to be in the old forums, but it's worth being here too, I think. XD

I'm sure that my Canon Hawke was vaguely amused by that, in a sort of "thank you for your sleeping habits Isabela" type way.

So! Third time I've completed DA2 and rhe FIRST time that slippery pirate came back with the book. So, I got her to the end. And although I had intentions of someday romancing her anyway, I had not seen the appeal yet.
And then I was on the receiving end of max friendship non romance goodbye lines before the final battle and was like....wow. underneath all that sex sex sex is a super loyal person. Harked me back to Morrigan's friendship lines so strongly, I choked up a bit.
So, I guess I'm saying I have my romance inspiration for a future Hawke instead of just a tick the box plan.

They say awareness is the first step to maturity. Perhaps there is hope after all. What is your point? So....no hope after all... Seriously, you've been making basically the same statement in about 20 posts on this thread, and in a rather rude way. It is getting old. Leave it be. Otherwise we'll have to check if your posting style fits the definition of spam.

I sense butthurt in the Force. And I sense single-minded fanaticism. Not that I haven't been prone to that here and there in the past - it's an occupational risk of being a fan - but it's really unpleasant for everyone else. We do not want this thread to be unpleasant.

I fail to see how stating that in a thread whose purpose is to state what we *like* about our favourite pirate queen, but fine. You know what though? There's a mod over at Nexus that turns Isabella into that blonde, blue-eyed character you want her to be, obviously to satisfy people with a similar mind-set such as yours. Use it and stop just standing in the fire, complaining that it's hot.

You can look back on the very first page of the thread to verify it, in fact. BioWare obviously create Isabella as a typical African American Jezebel stereotype; a black woman who sleeps with everyone and getting STDs.Emphasis mine, obviously. The only reason I didn't carry on with the 'harlot' bit is because you've already been called out on that. Tell you what. I'll practise my comprehension skills when you improve your writing skills and your memory. Now who's, to use your favourite expression, butthurt?
