Mass Effect Andromeda Multiplayer - General Discussion

Andromedonze, Andromedilver, and Andromedold to start, then after a couple DLCs they'll add in Andromedatinum

The ME series was a single player franchise to begin with. if you are more interested in MP then you should play games like Rainbow Six: Siege, TF2 or Overwatch. those games are meant to be played with other people whereas Mass Effect is by yourself like KOTOR.

Computer role-playing games were paper and pen and metal figures to begin with.
Games evolve and improve and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer was and is a ton of fun.
It has earned its place as an integral part of Mass Effect games.

Doesn't mean people can't enjoy both or enjoy only one format or the other.

Why is it that people want to tell you that just because you like a thrill of something like ME3MP, you should not want to have a great story and lore supporting your character? How's that not the best of all worlds? A game that gives you an awesome world, with an awesome character you can replay a few times, AND lets you have fun progressing through the MP, while not putting you on the daily multi-hour grindwheel for months before you can even start it like some MMOs do?

I started SWTOR as a single player game, for the "story". Then I found folks that taught me to play its other components, PvP, Ops, GSF... and the way that enriched the single-player was absolutely amazing. Seriously, doing more with the same character that you do SP with, really makes you attached to it, and creates non-scripted adventures, and adds war-stories to the gameplay that include real people and MMO-camaraderie. But I could not keep up with the demands of a MMO after a while, and ME trilogy was about the best gaming set-up for me I could think of.

When I am dead-tired (cause you know, I did not get enough sleep three nights in a row and I am too old to just absorb the damage like a teen), I play SP on like normal difficulty setting, when I feel like a fast-paced shot of adrenaline, and diving into the acquisition race, or playing species other than human, I pug MP, because it's frigging awesome and nobody ever yells. I can even solo it if I feel like a bit more challenging combat or trying out a new kit & don't want to embarrass myself in front of strangers. I don't have to play higher difficulties.

Me, playing Overwatch? WHY? It has zero lore, and cartoon-like childish characters. Not to mention likely the compliment of teenage players that scream insults and require by far more twitch than ME3, and I really want to avoid playing with the audiences that play free Asian mmos (yes, yes, I am an awful person).

I stand corrected then. How's the setting and the storyline? Engrossing?

So I guess we are not getting dedicated servers?

I finally started the game since last fall or so, but I had to bolt without playing even a round. Maybe tonight!
