I don't know how much can we take from that video, but if Scott is anything like Tom in it, I'd be very happy, I love the idea of Sara having a brother like him, he was great I get the feeling that Scott would be very tolerant of Sara, not necessarily because she's dominant, but he's happy to let her think she's winning because it makes her feel good.

Just saw the newest video with the voice actors for Scott and Sara. If their performance was any indication of the siblings' personalities, it looks like my theory is shaping up to be correct. Sara looks to be the more dominant personality. She's bolder, more outgoing, a jokester, and seems to pick on Scott. Scott is mellower, slightly dorky, calmer, and quietly bares the brunt of Sara's teasing. This is how I prefer it, honestly. I think you will be able to shape their personalities to a degree, but if that is basic outline, I am going to love both (hey, it might be my first male protagonist pt in bioware game ) Yeah, I have no complaints. I plan on playing mostly as Scott, so if he defaults to this type of personality in autodialogue etc, then that's fine. I find those traits to be endearing especially if they belong to the guy saving the day. Give me a slightly dorky, shy guy hero over a hyper-confident cocky guy any day. But I like Sara with the cocky confident (and slightly kooky if the video is anything to go by) personality. Poor Scott, I just picture her teasing him constantly. The poor dear.

I remember what you are referring to, but yeah I don't remember the source. They said you have to interact with your sibling once, but after that the other interactions are optional but encouraged.

Yeah I don't know, I get that the Ryder twins have to have an established relationship but that doesn't mean we can't change it up when we take control of one of them. I'm not into being ridiculed by Sara the entire time and taking it without at least a witty comeback. So hopefully they're predefined personalities doesn't mean that I have no say in Scott's opinion or response to the situation.

I hope Scott will be a mixture of Solas (reflective), Tali (scientific/nerdy), Merrill (cute) and Kaidan (introvert). That would be very nice. I always wanted to play a cute guy, but it was never possible. In many films/games/books only women are allowed to have this character trait. But I am afraid I'm reading too much into this. Hopefully "stoic" doesn't mean he's a nice Hawke 2.0. That would be kinda boring, because nice Hawke was just...well...nice. Personally, I always found sarcastic Hawke more interesting. But I'm still hopefull that Scott isn't treated in the same way.

I don't think the autopersonality would be that deep in any case.

I don't think that either, but I'd be very happy to play as a cute/nerdy guy...though I think you're right and he doesn't have these personality options. Professional/casual/head/heart/aren't really options that give us the choice to form him in this direction.

Anyone figure out what that quip was during the CES trailer (the one he made before he started stomping Remnant drones).
"Anyone order a friendly... Observer?" or something like that? I remember Tom Taylorson mentioning during an interview that Scott had quite a sense of humour. I get the feeling that Scott was enjoying himself during that mission (being stranded hardly seemed to damper his mood). And if the Tom/Fryda rivalry video (they are a funny duo) is any implication (I believe Scott & Sara will have a similar but not as exaggerated dynamic) then Scott strikes me as a bit of a dork (science background) who finds this whole "astronaut/commando/captain" thing to be really cool. I like to think he cracks lame jokes in an attempt to appear more confident (and his whole crew will of course pick up on this). And that he is just really enjoying homself.
Anyhow, I really like the way both Scott & Sara are shaping up. They feel so much like real characters that I don't think I'll be able to rename either of them (it would be like giving Garrus or Mordin a different name, it just does not feel right).

I hope they allow to modify the default look, not like previous games where all custom Sheps had crappy face texture compared to default.

Maybe I'll be able to create a character that doesn't look like a wax model of Clint Eastwood that stood too close to a heat lamp.

My Guyder will look something like this: His name will most likely be Jan. I'd love to be able to role-play Jan as Bernard Black. Sadly, I realize this will be impossible since we'll probably have to be sober, coherent, and productive most of the time. Nevertheless, I'll try to get him as close as possible to being a space Bernard B.

It's my plan to stick with default names except for a problem I encountered in MET. I wanted to go with "John Shepard" but after two playthroughs with John, when going back to check it was hard to keep track. Sometimes I used variants, like "Jon" or "Jonathan". May come to that with ME:A as well.

The more I hear about Scott the more playing with him is going to be nice. I just hope we get some witty remarks and tactically placed sarcasm to tone down Sara aggressive personality.

I don't think Sara will be too aggressive. On the contrary, I think she's very protective about Scott even if she always teases him. But she loves her brother and I think Bioware will show her affection towards him several times during the game. I also believe that she'll be the older one of them. But that's just my assumption.

This 'BroRyder' fellow gives me a frat-boy vibe... am I the only one... or maybe the "my daddy forced me to attend law school", vibe. Anyone? ANYONE ELSE? No, not at all actually, unless you're referring to his fan forum nickname. If anything I get the impression he might be a bit of a dork. And in the 4K trailer he sounded thoughtful and enthusiastic about the things he was finding, versus having some dumb frat boy vibe. I think with the nature of the Pathfinder role (which is as much explorer as soldier) we have the potential to play characters who are actually smart this time around - at least that's my hope. (I loved Shepard but every time she was all 'you lost me' or 'sorry I asked' because a character went all nerd on her it annoyed me. Not saying they have to be a genius, but I'd like to play a protagonist who can at least keep up.) (Personal pet peeve time: I HATE when a character being dismissive of another's intelligence is played for laughs. I don't get what's supposed to be funny about a character who's too dumb to follow along, or about insulting someone for being smart and wanting to share their ideas. Please at least give us an option to not do this.) /rant
