I don't think we've seen enough of him to gauge whether or not Scott is a dork. I would rather he not be.
I mean, he doesn't have to be an ultra badass like Shepard, but I'd rather not get stuck playing Scott like that.

(Personal pet peeve time: I HATE when a character being dismissive of another's intelligence is played for laughs. I don't get what's supposed to be funny about a character who's too dumb to follow along, or about insulting someone for being smart and wanting to share their ideas. Please at least give us an option to not do this.) /rant Wow, you really took this further than it should have been taken. I was more or less referring to his general appearance, but whatever. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I also would want a character who is able to keep up with most things and doesn't act foolish all the time, though they should still make realistic mistakes, just as any average person would. Knowing everything, even when something is explained in a very difficult manner? No thank you. It would be nice for them to implement dialogue options so that you can either choose that you understand what is being said, or ask for clarification.

I wasn't referring to your post, just all the times in games that particular dialogue seems to be the default. Shepard did it, Hawke did it, I even remembering my Inquisitor making a joke at Solas' expense in that way (fortunately it was optional, but paraphrased poorly so I reloaded my save). It's just something that's always bugged me is all, and related to what I said about wanting to play a smart character. And hoping Ryder might be such. As for his default looks, I don't really see it? I think he looks attractive, and will likely keep his default appearance when I play him.

This 'BroRyder' fellow gives me a frat-boy vibe... am I the only one... or maybe the "my daddy forced me to attend law school", vibe. Anyone? ANYONE ELSE? My daddy did force me to attend law school and I was in a frat, so I guess I'll be able to relate to him quite well. In all honestly, I don't really get this vibe from him but haven't seen enough of him in character to really know.

I don't think Sara will be too aggressive. On the contrary, I think she's very protective about Scott even if she always teases him. But she loves her brother and I think Bioware will show her affection towards him several times during the game. I also believe that she'll be the older one of them. But that's just my assumption. Like most siblings: "The only one who can pick on my brother is me!"

If the personalities are like some people speculate, I really hope we get dialogue options to deal with it. Like tell a bully teasing Sara to bugger off lol.

Anyone figure out what that quip was during the CES trailer (the one he made before he started stomping Remnant drones). "Anyone order a friendly... Observer?" or something like that? I remember Tom Taylorson mentioning during an interview that Scott had quite a sense of humour. I get the feeling that Scott was enjoying himself during that mission (being stranded hardly seemed to damper his mood). And if the Tom/Fryda rivalry video (they are a funny duo) is any implication (I believe Scott & Sara will have a similar but not as exaggerated dynamic) then Scott strikes me as a bit of a dork (science background) who finds this whole "astronaut/commando/captain" thing to be really cool. I like to think he cracks lame jokes in an attempt to appear more confident (and his whole crew will of course pick up on this). And that he is just really enjoying homself. Anyhow, I really like the way both Scott & Sara are shaping up. They feel so much like real characters that I don't think I'll be able to rename either of them (it would be like giving Garrus or Mordin a different name, it just does not feel right). Yo, if I can characterize Scott be somewhat like Peter Parker, I will be so happy.

I am looking forward to your update about your Ryder becoming Spider-Man and making jokes in the midst of combat. What I mean by that is similar to a time in the comics when Spider-Man saw some pixie dust coming at him and said "Don't tell me...I'm being attacked by Peter Pan?".

It looks to me like those plants are generated statics, like the grass in, like, every other game that exists. (I'm all for critiquing things that actually deserve criticism, but, this seems like a rather silly nitpick to me.) For reference, people getting stabbed by grass: Inquisition (Cassandra's leg): The Witcher 3 (Geralt's foot): The alternative would be to give the plants collision, which means we would have to walk around them, and potentially get stuck if we got too close. I'm pretty sure we don't have the capacity yet to have grass move aside as we walk in games right now (or it would be super performance intensive if we do).

I wouldn't know, I've never actually played The Witcher 3. But since it seems to be the holy grail of all things gaming that all RPGs are apparently to be compared to in every aspect, I figured it was as good an example as any. Even it has plants that clip through stuff.
