Fryda and Wolff don't really seem that hard to pronounce, or very rare Anecdotally, I suppose. Not according to this post on Fryda's twitter on Nov 7; "I have spent a lifetime correcting people, "it's FREE-duh, not FRY-duh" DON'T SCREW THIS UP FOR ME, RYDER"
Hence why I changed it from Fryder originally. (Knew no-one would believe me if I said anything, tis always the way) That's very helpful information. It's definitely worthy of keeping in the first post of a thread or in the "Who's Who" when giving credits to VA so the pronunciation information is always available. (I still struggle with remembering how to pronounce Jeff Goldblum's name!)

I like "femShep" exactly because it sounds so silly... dunno. I like making fun of it all. When I make specific gender references I call male Shepard dudeShep, or in the old days Sheploo was popular. Just as silly. I get why it annoys you. When I make general statements, I use plain "Shepard". I don't think it's necessarily sexist though if people put a gender on Shepard that way. Same here really I tend to just use male or female Shep when I'm talking about one specific gender and will likely do so with Ryder as well generally. However when I talk about the character in general I tend to use neutral words or at least try to. Whilst it's likely I'll go female first I will be doing male playthrough's as well so will try to remain as neutral as possible. Personally, what I do is talk about the various protagonists neutrally in the vast majority of circumstances, and specifically when appropriate. For instance, I might be specific when when referring to any protagonist in an instance where they can only be one gender, like calling any Inquisitor who's in a relationship with Dorian "he". I'll be specific when discussing one character in particular, such as my character or someone else's, or whoever happens to appear in a trailer/promo, like referring to Sara in the gameplay video. So if you see me refer to one of the protagonists as "she", it's likely that I'm referring to my own specifically rather than the character in general. I couldn't agree more. It's not "Shepard and Femshep", like male is the normal one and she's some weird alternative variant, it's "Shepard and Shepard", or if you're comparing them directly, "Male/Bro/Etc.Shep and Female/Femshep". I personally use both BroShep and FemShep, I just like to differentiate between them, they feel like different characters to me for some reason (even if you can play them completely same outside of few romances). I would use their first names, but since you can name them whatever you want, I needed something else to call them The same applies to Ryders, maybe even more since they really are different characters this time... Although I prefer bro/sisFinder to bro/sisRyder, it just sounds less...you know >_>Oh, I know, trust me Agreed that Bro/Sis!Ryder sound dumb. And I haven't heard 'Finder as an option before. What will I call them? Well, the sibling dynamic makes it weird. I guess I'll have to reserve Scott and Sara for the NPCs, since those will likely always be their names. But they'll also be very common for the Pathfinders since they'll be said aloud. I'll probably just do what I usually do (and what I wrote above) and refer to them as female or male Ryder where appropriate, and neutrally otherwise. Edit: Oh hey, 500 posts! Apparently I've ascended to godhood To be honest, I prefer the title "Senior Member" for a few reasons. Wonder if I can get it removed and just leave "Banshee" there...

My second play through is soooo going to be a "renegade" sisRyder. It would hilariously contrast with her almost Disney princess voice.

I'll probably never pick her because of it. Sort of get it. I know lots of people love FemShep's voice, but it seemed too gruff for me. It had the feel (in my head, at least) like she was a Renegade character. I don't tend to go for Renegade so I was less likely to play her. I was all about BroShep and really looking forward to Scott Ryder.

Mass Effect Andromeda | Fryda Wolff (Sara Ryder) FULL LIVE Interview Podcast This was great, thanks for sharing. At first it's a lot of repeat question (and answers) we heard before, but then the conversation gets really fun. If you only listen to one Fryda interview, this should definitely be it. The others were alright, but I tended to tune them out as they played in the background while doing other stuff. Can't wait for part 2

She certainly sounds like a pushover. So do I. I still have prior experience with firearms. It's not about the way you sound. It's about the things you know, your abilities, and the way you think.

Sara sounds fine, actions make you a badass no what kind of voice you have. You have no control over how you sound so its a moot point.
Personally I think regardless of your voice if you can turn invisible and snipe a man at 400 yards (as I plan to) then you're enough of a badass for me.

I haven't decided which gender to play first yet. It will probably depend on the romances available. However, I have decided that I'm going to have a more pragmatic/sarcastic Sara and a more idealistic/honest Scott to start. I tend to play these personalities first and I tend to choose which gender gets which personality by voice. I don't know why but I think I'll prefer such a feminine voice if the charcter is less sweet.
Anyone else planning to keep the default names? I heard that if you do some other characters call you by your first name sometimes, and I would like that for most of my protagonists. It's always weird hearing my protagonist's LI call them their surname.

As I think for my first hero I'd like to experiment and look at the CC and see what I can come up with for myself based on the options we have.

What do you think? Looks a bit better? There's also Scott in the trailer: Edit: Oh just became a Junior Member with this post, yay!

But yeah I agree it would be nice to have something nice to dress up in whilst just hanging around on the Tempest or the Nexus in between missions
