Sara Ryder 'SisRyder' (Official Thread)

So is mine I have in mind what I would like to do but it largely depends on the CC and the options it gives

I'm hoping they copied Inquisition's and worked their way from there. Face codes, lighting (I know many were bothered by this), etc.

I don't think I ever consciously tried to roleplay Picard in the trilogy, though my mainly-Paragon runs were obviously somewhat Picard-esque. I'm hoping Ryder'll have some more Picard-appropriate personality traits/dialogue options than Shepard did, since she's supposed to be less of an out and out, straightforward soldier. From the option to wax philosophical, to an appreciation for classic literature, a love of archaeology, or just an affinity for horses...
In spite of my Picard role-playing aspirations, I kinda wanna go in completely the opposite direction for my Ryder's looks. I have a model in mind, but I doubt the CC will let me even approximate her look:


I probably couldn't get it right even if they gave us a colour wheel for the hair, which they probably won't, and there's no way the armour customisation will be arty enough. Ah well, still gonna have a go.  

I'll probably not start with Sara. Or maybe I will. Either way, they'll have dark hair. I'll keep those golden-brown eyes.

Yeah I suspect it'll be similar to DAI's just hopefully with a few more options given they don't have to worry about covering other species like they did for DAI it'll be easier to do that.

yeah well Sara's hair in itself is much better than what we got in DAI and like DA2's hair it moves a bit as well. Admittedly that dosen't mean much atm as the game's not out yet, but it does leave me hopeful that it's one area that has been upgraded or at least recieved some attention   DA2 had some nice styles in it arguably some of the best Bioware put into any of their games but unlike some other areas of that game it's probably one of the things Bioware did well at. It shows at least they can do it if they put the effort in though.

Although to be fair Frostbite isn't the best engine to use when making people beautiful locations yes as that cutscene when you're first introduced to Skyhold in DAI still blows me away. But people it does seem to struggle a little with and they do come out looking a bit cartoony compared with other engines. I'd even say that people looked better on the old engine that they used for the trilogy although locations don't look quite as impressive on Unreal as they do Frostbite so I guess it depends on what they're aiming for. There is a chance it can improve I guess but we'll have to wait and see.

I'll stick with the default name for first run, seeing as it will be mentioned here and there in game. SisRyder is a given, don't bother playing a male run until I've done a few playthroughs.

I'll definitely play ad Sara for my first playthrough, and I'll probably keep the default name, since I like it and I want to hear it in game!

I'll try to recreate Alicia Vikander. I think she's a great actress and a natural beauty

I love vikander so much   I thought too about using her as inspiration for my Rider, though I finally discarded the idea, but I greatly approve your choice

I'd love it if one of my first Female Ryders looked like Jessica De Gouw... She's so pretty! 

yeah she's kind of pretty as well. As long as ew can have young and pretty looks for our Ryder's I'll be happy. As I'll be able to decide what to do from there

yeah the CC's are often as much fun to play with as the rest of the game sometimes. Generally speaking it dosen't take more than 20/30 minutes for me to create  my characters in them though. Obviously going into MEA it'll take a little longer first time around because being a new game it'll have a few different options I hope to pick from than previous games. The options look like they could be better than DAI's anyway. But then it could hardly be worse in terms of the hairstyles at least anyway.
