I'll definately be playing sisryder first (and naming her River after river tam from firefly).
I don't really know about her appearance, I'll just go with what comes naturally once I reach the character creator.

When there's a option to be female I'm always a girl, nothing wrong with playing as guy but most games I enjoy have men as protags, so it's fun to be a girl when possible. Also, I guess my age is close to Ryder's so I feel like I can identify with them more (than with Shepard).
Even so, I hope Ryder has a personality to a certain point, like Shepard or Hawke from DA2, it's way easier to like them that way, I believe. I loved being sarcastic all the time with Hawke, please Bioware let me make jokes in inappropriate moments! The new "wheel" of professional, casual, heart and head worries me a bit, I hope it's an improvement from Inquisition, the Inquisitor is a little bland to my taste.

Bio's default protag is my first choice.
What if they randomize which gender is default? They've talked about this before, presenting either the male or the female as default chosen randomly for each playthrough. This would also reduce the inherent bias the existence of the default has on gameplay statistics. If they genuinely want to know how many players choose each gender, they need to remove the bias produced by having a default. Randomization does that. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸
Correct but I doubt that stat will help EA/Bio in any meaningful way other than a possible marketing strategy. In any case, I will choose one then the other, just to widen my game experience.
A nice touch, however, is to imbue each gender with a different starter skill set.

I'm almost certainly going to play as her first. I'll customise her appearance as I prefer to put my own stamp on the character, though ideally we'll be able to use the default as a base so I can just tweak it a bit.

Gonna roll SisRyder, but not the default. No matter what, if the game allows me to create a custom appearance, it must be done. Same here. It will not feel my own character if I didn't use the CC.

I think it might be better for the player to select what the character starts off with, rather than the game preselecting it based on gender. Like you get a certain number of points to start and you can allocate it as you see fit.

Hm...Why not? It's two different characters and two genders at that. I really doubt they scored the same at "the military academy". Male Ryder may be better at Soldier and female Ryder may be better at Biotics. ... like Mage and Knight class. I also don't mind having the option for us to choose our starting path/attributes/skills. But, if Bio really wants to go "organic" the siblings will have different strengths and weaknesses.

If these were fixed characters that each had their own unique skillset, that would be one thing, but if it's a character we are pretty much building, I think I'd rather there be no differentiation insofar that both allow the player to pick whatever abilities the game permits for any number of points. This way, I can determine the strengths and weaknesses myself. Like, I'd have "Sara" be more proficient at tech while "Scott" more so at biotics.

What is the default male Ryder face? I can't even recall seeing it now off the top of my head.
Although I much prefer male Shepard in the original trilogy I think I'm going to role with Sara this time. I also am not a big fan of customizing the face of the characters on my main play through so I'll be using the default face on Sara, she looks cute anyways IMO.

This time I'll definitely try out Sara on my 2nd playthrough.

I feel myself getting worked up again, I always get worked up when it comes to our protags in video games. Big massive sigh. Anyway on another note, I like the look of sisRyder in that picture, from the side she looks good, especially the hair.

I'll definitely customize my Ryder's face but Sara looks fine. WAY better than femShep. Not a captivating face like Morrigan's, but I always felt like the default look is average on purpose. And Scott looks positively adorable. Whether that is the kind of impression you want from the hero is up for debate. *g* I like his face, boy next door charm is good. Kaidan had that going for himself too.
Best default look was Hawke though. BY FAR. Both of them looked fantastic, and I almost didn't customize. Sexy promo material. Strong features. They are survivors and you believe it. For Andromeda, Bioware is obviously going for a soft almost innocent look. Going to be interesting how that plays out. Bright-eyed sheltered elite school kids whose fun adventure goes south?
I wonder how old we'll be able to make Ryder. Would be weird if Ryder was 50 and dad 80... or worse, they looked the same age. *g*

And scenes with her talking. Anything in general would be a step up honestly XD Gonna echo the statement I've seen a few people post; I too would like Sara to be a more structured protag like Shep and Hawke. I felt I enjoyed the experience greater when my character showed emotions and stuff without me having to poke them a la "strikes an unhappy grr face for one piece of dialogue out of the blue and keeps that face for the rest of the cutscene" Looking at you Inquisitor. It was just more fun I thought. Also I need sibling rivalry and ribbing going on between Scott and Sara. I want them to be total bros x

Well, so far I'm liking her default appearance a lot more than Shepard's (ingame one; I loved her artwork). Here's hoping the next trailer features her, because I'd like to get more than one 2-second shot in a trailer and one random screenshot... God I hope so, Bioware I love you but saying the marketing will feature both equally is getting veeeery hard to believe with my 10 second CGI and one screenshot. I mean even in that first E3 vid all the gameplay was with Scott also. I was rather deflated when I saw the N7 day trailer and it focused on Scott. Again. *sobs*
That being said she looks very good, a massive step up from the afterthought that was Femsheps face. And I'm so hype for Fryda to blow me away. I listened to some of her portfolio on her website and hot dang I'm so excited. I love her already SHOW ME MORE BIOWARE 1. I'm with you. They've been steadily improving, ME3 and onward, but have a ways to go. Failing alternating, I always thought they could simply showcase both protagonists in the same trailer (not in all trailers, mind). The argument against this was that it would confuse players, but I think that's giving them slightly too little credit. Fallout 4 had both protagonists in the same trailer and guess what? The world didn't end. In fact, I thought there was actually a good chance of Bioware not only showing both protagonists more for ME:A, but also potentially together, since they're siblings who exist at the same time. That's hardly confusing. I'll render final judgement only at launch, when the trailers are all out (though there will also be DLC trailers), but so far it's not even close to even yet again. 2. I actually still haven't listened to any of Fryda's work, which I should since I really want to know how Ryder will sound. Maybe I thought I'd just hear it in a trailer at some point? Hopefully we will soon. What does she sound like? My main concern is that she won't sound... intimidating enough? When that's required. Something I thought Sumalee Montano, Courtenay Taylor, and especially Jennifer Hale all pulled off (interestingly, I played mostly sarcastic or nice Hawke, so that wasn't as much of an issue for Jo either way. On that note, I'd love to have more sarcastic/snarky options for Ryder). It's just weird to have a warrior RPG protagonist who doesn't sound threatening at all. Other than that, I just hope I like her voice and speaking style in general or am at least neutral about it. Well, so far I'm liking her default appearance a lot more than Shepard's (ingame one; I loved her artwork). Here's hoping the next trailer features her, because I'd like to get more than one 2-second shot in a trailer and one random screenshot... I believe it will. One of the devs when asked about that said they will be swapping male and female with each showing/trailer. So since the Playstation thing and N7 Day trailer showed Scott, perhaps the VGA gameplay and probably trailer will have Sarah. Well, technically they already haven't done that, since there have been 2 in a row now with Scott, and by far the most screen-time as well. So yeah, I'm hoping along with others that she'll be featured in the upcoming gameplay demo, which will hopefully have at least 1 cutscene/conversation, so we can see her face properly and hear her voice. And, you know, to learn more about the conversations and gameplay What if they randomize which gender is default? They've talked about this before, presenting either the male or the female as default chosen randomly for each playthrough. This would also reduce the inherent bias the existence of the default has on gameplay statistics. If they genuinely want to know how many players choose each gender, they need to remove the bias produced by having a default. Randomization does that. Actually, I believe they randomized it in DA:I, if I'm understanding you correctly. My first playthrough, it gave me female as the default choice, and I thought it might have to do with my Worldstate since my Warden and Hawke in it were also female. But on later playthroughs with the same Worldstate, sometimes it was female and sometimes male. And somewhat related: I'd love to know the stats, not of total playthroughs (which Bioware gives us), but of completed playthroughs (which they do not). I have a feeling the number of male and female characters who finished the game would be more even than those who only started, for various reasons. I always make my own face for my characters, but I'm tempted to keep the default here because she looks like one of my Wardens OMG Morrigan hair Jealous Also, what the heck is wrong with her (Ryder's) nose? And I don't mean that I think it's weird, I'm saying I don't think it's weird and am asking why so many other people think it is
