Valentyna for my Ryder and Yury for her sibling. While I expect that the sibling will be locked to Scott or Sara, I can always pretend that Scott is a middle name that her brother prefers to go by.
So Valentyna Ryder and Yury Ryder for the first run of the game. I'm thinking Karmyn Ryder for the second run though I haven't decided on the sister's name.

Yeah, because it's not possible the tech demo was taken from a different build. Morrigan's face changed several times during DAI's development. Will Scott be surely like he appears in the cinematic trailer? No. it doesn't mean he'll appear like the tech demo. Sara looks different in the E3 trailer compared to the GI shot. Things change. |

Actually, I believe they randomized it in DA:I, if I'm understanding you correctly. My first playthrough, it gave me female as the default choice, and I thought it might have to do with my Worldstate since my Warden and Hawke in it were also female. But on later playthroughs with the same Worldstate, sometimes it was female and sometimes male. Exactly. I hope they keep doing that. I don't think those wpuld be meaningful stats, and I worry thet would grant extra legitmacy to the idea completing the game. The majority of players do not finish the game at all, and the vast majority of the characters I create and play do not finish the game. I usually only finish a game once or twice (if at all), but I'll play through large parts of it with many different characters. I don't see why I wouldn't want to count those other characters. |

Because player agency is important. They could be different without choosing for us. The player could assign stats and skills for the protagonist, and the sibling's could assignedto be different from those. That said, I'd prefer to be able to assign both freely. |

In regards of their training, I think it was mentioned that they were both trained to be pathfinders. I think the different might be forced and not chosen by us, but we'll see. I doubt we'll find out before release. |

A bit off topic, but what do you think of the gameplay changes? I recall you aimed and shot with pause in ME. I haven't seen the gameplay changes. I did pause-to-aim in ME. That feature was the best thing about the whole trilogy. It was an ingenious way to fit traditional RPG combat into a shooter interface (especially in ME1, with the stat-driven accuracy). Will I not be able to pause-to-aim in MEA? If not, I'm done right now. I will not, under any circumstances, play action combat in real time. |

Hm...Why not? It's two different characters and two genders at that. I really doubt they scored the same at "the military academy". Male Ryder may be better at Soldier and female Ryder may be better at Biotics. ... like Mage and Knight class.  I can go into much more detail, but I don't really want to. I wrote quite the post about it before, though, so I could always link/paste that. Yeah, I don't think it's a good idea either...Simply throwing in "pick you skills" screen to CC (like DA:O had) is way better idea, that way you can start with skills you want and don't have to respec ASAP (Always hate how ME3 tries to predetermine my skills set at the beginning, and playing through Mars with that, ugh) I'm thinking the face in the N7 day trailer, white armor, sitting in some kind of building will be default Ryder face (The face is kinda cute IMO ) It's this one: Which actually doesn't look that bad. The other's stats means squat. Being "out there" may mean the programmer sends you pseudo emails from a pre-generated table of emails with flags assigned to each one for triggering purposes.
The thing about choosing your own stats is the ability to influence the game at the start. Isn't that an attempt to negate the game responding to you?.. and yes, down the road I'd want the game to respond to me but at the start?... that's artificial.

That's exactly what I was going to do, except I'm yet undecided whether my first Ryder will be Bro or Sis. It'll probably come down to a coin toss, like usual. Usually, I tend to always play a female protagonist on my first run if the game provides the option. The only exception tends to be if I like the male voice more than I do the female one otherwise I play a male protagonist on a later run.
This time, it has the added bonus that I'll know if I can roleplay Karmyn, my male Ryder, like I want to because I'll have been through the dialogue options once and so can see what it allows and since I've played through the game, I can look up videos to see if there's any difference in the voice direction like there were with female Shepard and male Shepard.

When there's a option to be female I'm always a girl, nothing wrong with playing as guy but most games I enjoy have men as protags, so it's fun to be a girl when possible. Also, I guess my age is close to Ryder's so I feel like I can identify with them more (than with Shepard). Even so, I hope Ryder has a personality to a certain point, like Shepard or Hawke from DA2, it's way easier to like them that way, I believe. I loved being sarcastic all the time with Hawke, please Bioware let me make jokes in inappropriate moments! The new "wheel" of professional, casual, heart and head worries me a bit, I hope it's an improvement from Inquisition, the Inquisitor is a little bland to my taste. This. I don't want the words that come out of Ryder's mouth to just be words. I want them to be interesting pretty words said with character that implies a personality from the person who speaks them. I feel myself getting worked up again, I always get worked up when it comes to our protags in video games. Big massive sigh. Anyway on another note, I like the look of sisRyder in that picture, from the side she looks good, especially the hair. Hopefully Ryder will be more like them, the Inquisitor's lines are too... neutral, or randomly have emotion when the options appear, I dunno, I get people wanting a blank slate to fill in but for me it just makes them seem inconsistent and harder to empathize with. And yeah the hair seems better this time around, at least looking at the default ones |

I hope they'll be more ruthless and aggressive options, other then diplomatic ones. It helps developing different types of characters.

I like chaaracters that show emotion and have a sense of humor. Really more the latter. But the thing I want them to avoid from DA I is essentially the restating things in a question which has already been stated.
