I pre-ordered ONE game in my entire life = Dragon Age: Inquisition What a freaking disappointment, based on the marketing hype vs actual content ( I'm a magic/archer user) and expected PC controls ( I played the first two). Needless to say, never again.
I preordered DAI. I have no regrets that I did. I enjoyed the game

I'll wait for reviews or a discount deal. I also pre-ordered the Witcher 3 which I didn't regret. I haven't had the best track record of pre-ordered games, I was going to pre-order No Man's Sky (and then when I forgot to do that I was going to buy it) luckily I dodged a bullet with that one. If there's a 20% off from GMG I may pre-order but I think my pre-order quota will have been taken either by Dishonoured 2 or Mafia 3.

Need a BL Marcus gif for this I was thinking Wayne's World, when Garth asked Wayne if he found Bugs Bunny in a dress attractive Oh, okay. Totally different thing then, haha. There's a line in Borderlands 2 just like that one and it's pretty funny. I thought it was that. LEL.

Or maybe that I don't compulsively pre-order things Compulsion has nothing to do with it, you never know while pre-ordering what the final product is going to look like, you guess.
And guessing is very much like gambling, only with this *at best* you get what you actually pay for.
I never denied it's a guess. But it becomes a compulsion when you don't have the slightest clue if you're gonna like it or not, whereas I'm a long-standing ME fan since ME1, with more than 20 playthoughts for each game of the saga and 1000+ hours of ME3MP. Having that in mind, as for guesses, I think that it's one of the best ones that there are

Nooo... not this time. Got burned last time so nope. Though I will probably have it soon after release if the MP is reported as good. -OR- I might well buy it at release if they do the pre-taste 1 or 2 map release of MP again (not to mention the introduction of the SP game). That would encourage me to buy if i like it.

Yeah for sure. I want to preload the game. If the reviews tell me that the game is really really bad I'll cancel the preorder before launch.

No doubt you did.... but you use a console. The PC port for KB+M controls is shyte.... totally different from the first two.

No, but it's not due to any feelings about the game itself. DA:I had a very rapid and almost overwhelming large patch cycle that left me updating constantly. I know it's the nature of the beast with modern games in general, but it was a nice reminder to myself as to why I almost never ever buy games brand new. I'd rather wait for a few months to let more of the bugs get ironed out.
Sadly, most of the time the pre-order and/or Collector's Edition goodies aren't really worth it. The pre-order for DA:I wasn't worth it to me. An armor and weapon set I outgrew by level 4, patterns of that same style that were always a few steps behind common white gear, an ugly as hell chair that I never used, and a mount I never used. Bleech.

What's in it for me? Preorder is me lending EA money for no interest. Spice it up EA, there is no free lunch!

Depends on what we'll see on N7 day, and what bonuses will be included in the pre-order edition. If what I see is enticing enough, I might be convinced to pre-order. It will largely depends on the gameplay and combat, where I'm concerned. That's how I know I will at least enjoy playing it, regardless of the story, or not. So I'd like to see MP gameplay mostly, and a bit of SP (but nothing that would spoil the story too much).

Look at the DA:I game trailers. They were designed for eye candy, combat hints, raising a bridge, open a cave entrance, riding a horse plus lots and lots of little cut scenes like displaying the Dragon(s) and the Quizzy slaying demons. Very much like movie trailers designed by the marketing people to pitch a theme.

I would expect that the big n7 day reveal will be either a new dlc side mission for me3 to tie it into the story or them putting mea onto origin pre-order.....

I kind of regret pre ordering Inquisition actually. Not gonna lie, was mainly due to the multiplayer that I never end up playing, but the game itself wasn't worth it a pre order under my eyes. I finished my first playtrhough without DLC. Started a second one as Qunari, got uber disappointed and left a 3rd playtrhourgh half way before finish. That's all the Inquisition I played.
So, this time it's not gonna happen no matter how good Andromeda ends up being.

Lest's just say that my first experience in the MP was the good old "infinite loading screen while you hear your teammates play" (the same bug in ME3 since day one they never fixed). I was like Never again.

Of course it's designed to be eye-candy. You're never going to have video game trailers that are ugly if the devs and marketing team have any wish to sell their product. I'm confident most of us here are quite aware of this, and are able to keep a critical mind. The difference is that I never had as much fun with the DA series's combat gameplay (it was downright boring at times) as I did with ME3's, which was pretty solid. So all the appeal of the DA games resided in the story, at least for me. It wasn't the same for ME3, it was the MP combat system that made me milk 2800 hours of the game. I'm confident if we can have decent footages of MEAMP at N7 day, we'll have a good idea how the combat is going to be played. They can't overhaul the whole combat gameplay in a couple of months, and subsequently change the whole game before release date somwhere in march (because that's what changing such a base feature would entail). It will be too late to pull a DAI, at least on combat. Not to say there won't be a few tweaks here and there in powers and weapons damage, but the basic design of the combat won't be modified in such little time left. Now if you absolutely want to paint it black, go ahead, it's a great song after all.

Cue lots of ppl saying no way in hell, some others saying they will, and a few pouncing on them and calling them corporate bastards for doing so. *sigh* Wouldn't be a pre-order thread without it.

I was like Never again.well see I just crash logged and restarted, jumped straight back into the same friends only game and cracked on, sure it was annoying when it happened like 30 times a day but so what the sp game had the exact same bug which was far more of a problem (cos you actually lost all your game play unless you got lucky and it had just saved) but the vast majority of games have such bugs, so its not really a surprise that the first few weeks are a bug fest....

Generally, I stopped pre-ordering games a couple of years ago because of all of the shady advertising, bullshots, and disappointment. However, I am definitely pre-ordering this game as the ME series is my favorite game series and has never let me down (outside of the last 10 min. of ME3). Probably a collector's edition as well.
