In my current playthrough, I haven't talk with James at all. After the coup, I went and talked with him. He's still doing pullups. A couple lines of dialogue were different. After the fight, he doesn't call Shepard Lola, instead he says, "Maybe the next time with more hitting, less talking.......Commander"
Once I got back to the terminal, I got a message from him inviting him up to the cabin

First off, I love this thread. I loved it on the old board and I'm glad it's still alive.
Secondly, i'm going to take the opportunity to contribute! Back on the old board I learnt that at the beginning of ME3 Anderson has his own skill tree which you can assign points to. Not that I imagine it makes a lot of difference since i'd played through once without noticing. What I discovered on my second playthrough that i don't think anybody else has mentioned is that the same is true of Jenkins in ME. I was on a second tour of ME with my original Shep so i had a ton of points to assign to both him and Kaidan and slightly better idea of what to do with them. Lo and behold you can boost Jenkins' health, shields and defence that he should be able to go toe to toe with a geth armature and he still dies from being shot by a drone.

In my current playthrough, Legion and Tali didn't survive the suicide mission. When I encountered the geth VI, Shepard and the geth talk about Saren. I don't recall hearing that conversation before. I did not complete Legions loyalty mission. I'm playing renegade and I had James and Ashley with me on the mission. Don't know if those things make a difference

My very first playthrough of ME3, Thane was alive, but I never talked with him on the hospital. Shepard just walked by him without realizing he was to the left in front of the window. The Salarian councilor was killed. After I completed Chronos, I noticed Thane's name on the memorial wall and thought, where was that guy. My second playthrough, a new game plus, I did notice him to the left and talked with him.

I tried assigning points to Jenkins once a long time ago, but noticed that I had fewer points to assign to Ashley when I first met her so I haven't done it since. I often do assign Anderson's points in ME3... just for the fun of using his concussive shot in tandem with different biotic/tech skills that Shepard can have. That way, there have been many times where the Normandy has arrived on the scene before I've run out of ammo.

On Mars, just as I was about to shoot evabot, I hit the wrong button causing me to use warp. Didn't do any damage.
On Sur"Kesh. I was standing behind Wiks, when I looked to the right, if facing Wiks, and saw the reticle. I got closer to it saying Vista. I activated it causing Javik to mention something about one of his planets during his time. James asked him about it.

It is known that if Grissom is avoided with Jack in ME3, she will be killed on Chronos. When you activate the datapad on the operating table, Jack's voice can be heard along with a Cerberus guy. There's also two large spots of blood. If the player completes Grissom or Jack isn't alive in ME3, that datapad is there, but can't be activated and the two spots of blood are there on the table

If none of the video logs on the IFF mission are played, Shepard will say Space Madness instead of they were being indoctrinated. That's what happened when I had Garrus and Zaeed with me. Garrus would mention dragon's teeth. and say they allowed it to happen. That's when Shepard will say, I don't know. Space Madness.

For the last 30 minutes, I've been watching the endings on youtube. I noticed in the original and extended cut that the characters seen raising their arms cheering only happens in the destroy and control endings, but not in the synthesis ending

Hmmm...I didn't think the Normandy was scripted to show up until you run out of ammo? When I kill stuff with bio/tech skills, they keep coming forever. Kind of like how Anderson gives you shit for not being able to shoot even if you take out all the husks some other way.
As for spec'ing Anderson, I was all excited when I saw he had a grenade power, then super bummed when I never came across any grenade stock so he could actually use it. I stopped putting points into it after that.

The husk head can also only explode on the first or second visit to Bryson's lab (maybe both). On the third visit it will never explode, no matter how many times you activate it. (OR if it does, the number of activations required is something larger than 30)

The Ghost of Ashley Williams Ashley - There ain't no putting her down. Tough as nails and all marine. I have always liked her. Edit: What I don't understand in this vid is the 3-D depth perception, and how the camera can move all the way back to behind the scene in a static picture. This make me question the validity of this vid. It seems more fake to me now after watching this several times. I don't believe my eyes. Video editing is pretty good these days - so I don't always know what's true, until I run the scenario myself. Great looking vid, though. Nice job. Damn - now I'm going to have to start another run-through. Thanks, Mike. The text in that vid is just silly. But otherwise it's true. The player is using flycam that allows one to look anywhere in the game. This bug happens all the time for me, with both Ashley & Kaidan "ghosting".

Was reading through some of my old posts on closedBSN and found this in the "most touching moments" thread:
Joker's salute after returning to the Normandy after the coup attempt and Shepard has told either Kaidan or Ashley to take a hike. The first part is the same, then Joker gets up, stands straight, and salutes. Shepard asks, "What's that?" Joker replies, "Someone giving you the respect you deserve." You can tell that Shepard is really moved by this, then says, "Thanks."

First time ever, had Javik say he was going to retire on the hannar homeworld where he could live like a king. All prior playthroughs he said he was going to go off to die. I love finding new stuff.

I discovered that the big XP reward at Noveria, given just after dealing with Benezia, is bugged if you go to the Hot Labs first. My guess is that the reward drops when the journal entry for "Noveria: Matriarch Benezia" is modified to say "Deal with Hot Labs". But if you already did that, the journal is updated instead to say "Mission Complete" and you get no XP (the notification shows just the final commando you killed). I know there are places where XP is denied as a sort of punishment, but this has to be a bug.

I discovered that you can persuade Dr. Cohen out of his maintenance pass without doing his Noveria: Quarantine assignment first: - Before heading down to the med bay, walk into the restricted area to hear the "Watchdog Protocol is active" warning. Don't hack the door!
- Go to the med bay and chat with Dr. Cohen. Select the paragon option "Sorry." or renegade option "I don't like your tone."
- Select "Get me into maintenance." You'll need 5 points charm or 4 points intimidate to pass the subsequent check.
- If you want to avoid the Noveria: Quarantine assignment from appearing in the journal, don't select "Are these people sick?"
If you select the neutral option in step 2, "Get me into maintenance" appears twice, and the first time it doesn't work! And you'll get the journal entry. In a recent speedrun I didn't know about this and chose to run through the restricted area with a lot of lift and singularity to bypass the fight. I used this method with most fights and it turned out to be a minimal-XP run too, just shy of 34,000 XP (level 24).
