Yeah the raccoon certainly is getting a heap of marketing attention. I've gone from hoping she was just an npc character being shown to resigned that she'll be a non optional squaddie. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Ninja Asari was probably put there to resolve the romance formula (they are bi after all). Also, from the concept art, her costume won't change. I guess she can breath vacuum / toxic atmosphere while the human can't.
I'm hoping we see her in a hardsuit on Monday, so I can lay those worries to rest.

,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Then there is that other glaring error (Eagle) someone else mentioned up thread.
It was also mentioned at the time that this could easily be a commemorative replica at the landing site. Why immediately jump for the negative conclusion, when the alternative makes just as much sense? Also wondering how the asari has managed to generate so much hate and conspiracy theories that she'll be "forced on us" when we know literally nothing about the character other than her appearance and that she happened to be on the mission BioWare briefly demoed.

She doesn't, it's the same thing happened in ME2 and ME3, and Miranda and Jack special abilities didn't make them more suited to survive toxic environments then normal humans. As for the armour not changing, I disageee. Ashley first appearance and concept art in ME3 shown her without an armour, which was shown later in the marketing stage, so the asari can follow on the same steps.

But they're not in space and they don't seem to be in a hostile atmosphere either. Dress for the occasion, sure, but this isn't the occasion for a space suit! If you say so. I see one person dressed appropriately for an unknown environment, and the other dressed for a hangout in the park with her friends. The truth of the matter is that each is dressed as she is for marketing reasons, not because it's appropriate for the environment. Those in armour may well be wearing armour because they are the ones trained with and capable of wearing it. They are also the ones whose role it is to take on the bulk of the combat role. Like I said, this very probably is not a military expedition. Unlike ME, the party isn't necessarily a combat party deliberately going into front-line hostile shoot outs. It isn't reasonable to assume that there is sufficient arms and armour available to the expedition to allow them to be giving out battle armour to scientists and other non-combat personnel. The fact that such armour is capable of surviving in a vacuum or hostile environmental conditions does not mean that there is any expectation of such things in the area where we see the Asari. It's like saying it makes no sense for Indiana Jones to have gone exploring without a gas mask and kevlar due to all the gas and dart traps he might accidentally be tripping in these abandoned tombs. He's an explorer not the SAS! Same thing here. I have no problem with what she's wearing.

Though she might be the perfect candidate to show different types of outfits/amours or a squadmate customization similar to DAI (considering the leak was mostly true and it mentioned a deep customization/crafting system, it's possible we'll get it for the squadmates as well).

I disagree with a few things. The Earth being "too near" for one. Here is a picture recently taken of the Earth during an Earthrise on the moon. It looks pretty near, and similar to the video. Other images of the Earth from the moon could have been taken when the moon was farther away from the Earth, as the moon orbits in an elliptical pattern. Secondly, the moon's gravity is less and the N7 character should not be able to walk on it as if in a 1G environment EXCEPT THAT Mass Effect takes place in a universe where a material that literally manipulates mass/gravity exists. It says in the Element Zero Wiki how it is used to generate artificial gravity. I think this would be easy to implement into suits or near the Lunar Base that we see nearby in the trailer. Thirdly, it would make sense that if they built a lunar base near the site where the Eagle landed, they might build a replica of that to commemorate the even and place it there. I don't see any of these as "glaring inaccuracies." They can all be explained in lore. The image comes from NASA, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Yes, the orbiter is above the moon's surface, but that won't change the distance the Earth is from the moon in the image. Love when I see someone use evidence to support his/her claims. Makes the scientist in me happy. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Sigh...
I have no clue from what platform that pic is taken.
However I do have a NASA-Apollo8-Dec24-Earthrise official image of the earth taken from the moon. See below.

Andromeda could be a steaming pile of shit, and I still wouldn't want to see another gamer 'backlash' - y'know, with the death threats and all - come out of it. Seriously, people need to chill the fuck out. It's fine to get excited, it's fine to be disappointed, but neither feeling's justification for that sort of shit. 1. It's funny, when I think of ME3's backlash, I think of a group of fans who was collectively shocked and were desperate for closure, coming up with theories and having interpretations all over the map because of it. I remember people who were emotionally invested in something for years have that rewarded with - well, everyone knows. I don't think of the death threats and the like. I'm not saying they didn't happen, and they most certainly shouldn't have happened, but when it comes to constructive criticism, and when it came to something as crazy as the ME3 ending, a bit of venting, I'm totally in support. Is there a bit of bitterness still there? Yeah. But Bioware has been historically terrible at understanding criticism and why fans want certain things, and mostly unable to even take it in the first place, which I find arrogant and sad. But mostly frustrating, because it means worse games. So if ME:A is absolute garbage, sure, it won't hurt nearly as much. That's good. But I'd still want a "backlash" in the sense that I want Bioware to see and understand criticism. Not personal attacks, obviously. And I dig (presumably) Ryder's armour here! Very future-astronaut. And no individually-moulded boob cups! Yay! (Also, to me at least, it looks like the detail around the chest area is just part of the suit, not a new symbol. Could be wrong, though.) 2. Hooray for that (if that's indeed female Ryder)! Gotta to say I'm pleasantly surprised if so. Though I have to say, I find that weird triad thingy we're discussing quite ugly And I still don't understand N7's weird non-spacey collar flap and N7 being on the wrong side. 1. Reasoned criticism - even emotionally-charged reasoned criticism - is, of course, absolutely fine--fantastic, even. I don't think anyone would disagree with that. But I can't ignore what came along with that criticism of ME3's ending, nor the fact that comments like this: They better not fuck it up, because if they think shutting down the stupid BSN will save them from the backlash..........dead wrong. Read far more like circling the wagons, preparing for an attack, than they do, 'Hey, let's get ready to offer reasoned criticism of this game'. And tend to come from people with attitudes like this: They're quite a bit less funny when you're on the receiving end, I'm given to understand--y'know, seeing as how, in and amongst all those maladjusted whiny little men, there might just be one deeply damaged person who means it. And yes, they make a point. The point is, 'these people are maladjusted arseholes who have absolutely no fucking perspective on what's an appropriate reaction to a subpar piece of of entertainment, and what isn't'. That's it. If BioWare make a bad game, it'll review poorly, sell poorly, and do poorly for them. That's the full extent of what they should have to deal with, no matter how much they might think, 'their shit don't stink'. Actually they're even more hilarious when they're directed at me because I conquered the fear of death over a year ago. And if it scares Bioware into learning from their mistakes instead of ignoring them, I'm all for it.That's someone quite literally saying that they want the devs to fear for their lives, because they think it might make their games better. And it's not hyperbole, not bluster - or, at least, it might as well not be - because people actually do that shit. There's a fucking epidemic of it in the modern video game fandom. It feels like we can't go more than a few months without the next great round of death threats, doxxing and hell over fucking video games. No Man's Sky's gonna get delayed: death threats, to the person who reported the news, and then to the devs once it's confirmed. No Man's Sky's disappointing: death threats all round, again. People are pissed about localisation changes made to some games: find a Nintendo employee to scapegoat, then death threats, rape threats, doxxing and, ultimately, she gets fired. Someone releases a game about a subject you don't like: drum up some charges of collusion with the gaming press, then death threats, rape threats, and doxxing. Someone says something about a game that you don't agree with: death threats, rape threats, again. It keeps. fucking. happening. I'm all for reasoned criticism of games. I'm all for fans getting excited. But I can't just ignore this shit. Back when Mass Effect 3 came out, I was certainly part of that heartbroken group - after I finished ME3 for the first time, I didn't play Mass Effect, any Mass Effect, again until this year - but when I look back on that whole thing, I do see the death threats, and the dev harassment, more than anything else--because, with the benefit of hindsight, they were the one of the first signs of this fucking cancer of online hatred that's so engulfed the video game community in the years since. A person's right to live their life, to do their job, without dealing with this sort of shit, is more important than the quality of a thousand video games! And I say that as someone who's been playing games for longer than I've been able to write my damn name! Again, reasoned criticism is fine. Excitement, disappointment, and even anger are all fine--but outright fucking hatred, the sort of shit Aetius endorses? It can fuck right off. Anyways, I don't wanna keep going off-topic--this is more the sort of thing that should have its own thread, or be conducted through DMs, I think. On a happier note: 2. Yeah, I'm not massively keen on the random triangle thingy either - maybe they're some auxiliary hose-attachment points, for connecting to an emergency O2 supply, or something? - but I like the rest of it enough that I don't mind. And the N7 armour from the Game Informer cover, too! That's at least two non-bulky, cool-looking suits of armour with no boob-moulding! On the alternately-placed N7 emblem and random flap--I actually like them, but only 'cause this: I just hope N7 Dad's gear - and maybe ours, eventually, going by that cover? - proves a mite tougher: (Oh, shit, now that I think about it, with my Ryder's name, it might be best if I avoid wearing anything with the flap: there'll be no Q to save me!)

On the asari I already posted before on my hope/opinion that it's just her canonic outfit, hopefully in the following weeks we'll know more on armour customization for both Ryder and the squad.

Probably the ones you wrote about the asari in the last post on the previous page. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Oh.. the concept art and the costume/breathing/toxic thingie. Gee... some people are way too serious. And, btw, here is a prediction hot off the virtual press: That Ascoon Asari won't get a helmet with that costume. That's likely. I just hope she'll get it in other outfits, unlike Liara.

I honestly don't get the subtitle. Not because of the human centric focus (that is already clear based on previous interviews), but the saving humanity thing seems a bit off compared to what they said about the focus on the exploration/colonization. Yeah, though that is only one thing I was referring to. There is also things like the Asari's outfit, the floating rocks that defy physics, etc. ,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸-(_MEA_)-,.-~*´¨¯¨`*·~-.¸ Speaking of, I don't mind the Asari's outfit as long as she's not in a vacuum or toxic environment.
But, given past Bio history, I would be surprised if out beloved Ascoon gets a different armour/Outfit/Suit from Bio when we go exploring in desolated moons. That would make it too real, I guess. And, if are allowed to change her outfit, say with a helmet and combat armour, then the Ascoon would not be the Ascoon as we know her and changes what Bio writers+artists want to project about her character. I mean, she just becomes anonymous, yes?
But, that's just me.

Sartoz, they already did it in ME3 with Ashley. She had an armour despite her default appearance was with a simple outfit. Even Liara got a full armour, though they skipped be helmet.

I guess I'll just copy + past what I posted in the video's comments: Thoughts: This was a nice and unexpected teaser, good to get confirmation that Ryder Dad is Lex Luthor.
Noticed: Maybe we'll have modular armor like in ME 2-3, since femRyder has a armor over her wetsuit outfit we saw her wake up in, namely the chest piece. I do want to say that the Andromeda Initiative uniform has the same color scheme as the Explorer armor from Mass Effect 1, which was my favorite armor coloring from that game. Also why is there only 1 Ark ship in this trailer, is this the human Ark ship with the other races building similar ones over their home planets?
For N7 day I'd like to see Gameplay. loads and loads of Gameplay. A look at the character creator, a story trailer, trailer for the Ryder family, trailers for the companions, something that explains who was in charge of the Andromeda Initiative and why they want to go to Andromeda, a trailer for which races are going to Andromeda, a look at armor customization, a look inside the Ark ships, a look inside the Tempest. Hopefully all that and more, but spaced out from N7 day onward.

I disagree. She could still wear a full space suit/armor and still be iconic. Bioware has done it before. Characters like Garrus, Tali, James, and the other companions who had a full suit/armor still had it be unique to them and capture their character. Even in MEA we see that with the unnamed Krogan, who has decorated their armor with what appear to be bones or something like that. They's be able to do the same for this Asari.
