Exterior wise I like the tempest just fine. Interior wise though, I'm obliged to post a picture of how a modern day arctic survey ship looks:

I don't see a problem with luxury. It happened with the Normandy in ME2 already. If it was fine then, it's fine now. He Initiative fits in the same logic of Cerberus not being a military org and not following those restrictions. I agree on the latter, although it might still have some weapons even if not a main gun. But it's the same problem with the Nomad (I wonder what is the shield blast mentioned in the video though).. Luxury is fine, but you can't expect me to take seriously such a wasteful use of space on a scouting / science spaceship. That cabin looks like a ballroom. Fair enough, although I don't see a big difference in the reasoning behind those two ships.

So of course they showed the thing empty! I mean, I expected as much, but I'd hoped... Ah, well, good stuff otherwise! The inside if the Tempest looks fantastic. I love that there's plants in it! And everything just looks really beautiful in general. Though the Pathfinder's cabin does seem rather large... I like it, but it seems a bit over the top. The Nomad looks like it'll be super fun to drive, and I'm especially loving that teal color scheme. Also, MINING PROBES. And I can't wait to meet Kallo Jath - he sounds friendly, professional, and intelligent. A nice contrast to Joker.

One thing that would be cool, but that I don't think they will do, is if your squadmates or crewmembers could spend time there without you having to invite them all the time. Like if you are becoming friends with the engineer s/he could sitting in the couch and read. Things like that. Mostly so it don't become so lonely there.

Does it have leather seats? background for the various romance scenes. That's the main purpose of ships in ME (except that one dude who romanced a ship itself). I don't know what people were expecting. Though lack of weaponry on anything but Pathfinder does make me chuckle a bit. Can anything bigger than a car shoot in this Initiative? They aren't going to protect Nexus and Arks with sniper rifles, right?

Fair enough, although I don't see a big difference in the reasoning behind those two ships. The difference is like 3 times the size of the cabin we had on the Normandy, with a ship that's actually *smaller*. The design is simply laughable. Ah, I miss the times when Sci-fi actually meant at least a half-arsed attempt to make things look somewhat logical. I'm not saying it's exactly the same thing. To be clear, I do think the room is big, too big. I just think the reasoning behind having a warship or a research/stealth ship being luxiorus is the same, and I don't particulary appreciate either. The former simply made me prepared on the same thing happening again. I wouldn't say ME is really sci-fi, but space fantasy, and I believed so from the start (although it got further on the road from the second game).

So far they have not shown anything of actual substance. To be fair, from the first briefing we do know what to expect from those. They aren't made to show much. I wasn't expecting much more from a video showcasing the Nomad and the Tempest.

That would be cool... makes it seem a bit less big and empty if you can have other people show up from time to time to hang out. It also convinced me even further I need that pet pyjak to liven up the place (am I the only one who could never bring themselves to shoot the ones on Tuchanka...? Just me?)

Ah, I miss the times when Sci-fi actually meant at least a half-arsed attempt to make things look somewhat logical. If the ship can do everything it needs to do and still fit a luxury cabin then what's the problem? It's only logical to limit space if you need to limit space. If the pathfinder's cabin is just slapped on top of whatever ship you build, it could run the entire length of the ship and not compromise space for other things in any way. Let's not forget that the Normandy was a war ship. The Tempest is a civilian research and exploration vessel built by a billionaire for their pet dream project. Nothing but the best for our pathfinder is not an unexpected design goal!

So far they have not shown anything of actual substance. I think that's kind of the whole point, to generate hype but not show off too much. I always thought the best part of a new game was that it was new and not seen before. This is all my own opinion.

The same thing happened with the Cerberus Normandy, it was more luxurious then the former one. In any case it's only the Pathfinder cabin that it's like this. The other rooms are simply hi-tech. A ship being comfortable or High-Tech is not my issue. The openess and inefficent layout of the interior is, take of example the high ceilings, which are a massive waste of space. Big open rooms also mean that a single decompression could kill the majority of the crew nearly instantly.

It also occurs to me that we are the Pathfinder - and that's a big job involving a lot of work, responsibility, training, and danger. Now, I suppose we might be getting paid (for all that currency is worth in a galaxy that doesn't recognize it) but a cushy place to live could just be a perk of the job, hence a larger than normal cabin being a priority on a ship with limited space.

Is it just me, or was there nothing extra to read during this briefing? Didn't the other ones had pop-up information about things in the briefing? I did rather miss them. I guess there was no extra detail needed this time.

Also, wasn't the stealth technology of the Normandy new? I wasn't aware anyone could have it. It was new in ME1 but it was around by the time the AI launched. By ME3 they were even putting it in the Kodiak shuttle! Having said that, I don't think they actually said it was using stealth technology only that it was stealthy. Which might just be an allusion to it being small and good at hiding!
