Only if it's completely separate and distinct from the CO-OP PvE content and doesn't damage it in any way. I'd say that the unexpected success of ME3MP is directly comparable the the success of horde mode in Gears of War 2, which was originally expected by Epic to be a mere diversion to the PvP. IIRC Epic said that GoW2's horde mode had something absurd like 80% of the total online playtime when they announced it's return in GoW3's press releases. That would mean that PvP had less than 20% since some of that total time was CO-OP story mode. Disclamer: It's been a loooong time since then, I don't remember the exact numbers. There's tons of PvP games out there already but not nearly so many PvE CO-OP games, so there's a gap in the market there. Why sacrifice something that might actually sell just to try and get a few scraps from Call of Doody's table?

It would be a truly monumental genre shift, and considering the reaction to the ending of ME3, it would most likely mark the end of Bioware. |

Yeah they said it for ME3 turned out to be a "mistake" They said it about DAI, before they started offering Skyhold decorations (with no SP path to getting them) for doing MP. Wonder what they'll try to slip in to "encourage" people to do MP this time? |

To tell the truth, I actually don't know what to expect. I'm actually rethinking my entire pre-order right now. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm on my third beer, and I always get a tad pessimistic about these things when I'm drunk.
I'm hoping that it'll be as much fun as the ME3MP. I'm actually expecting DAIMP levels of fun though. Like I say, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

Well, not to go off-topic here, but one of the things that I didn't like about DAI was the fact that if you held the left mouse button down (in either SP or MP) with a mage, it felt like you were firing a SMG. |
