Okay, I just realized something:

Oh, the Ryders will no doubt be different in that they are more action focused and in an action story. NGE was very much a deconstruction of the whole genre and plays up the whole idea of "when you think about it, putting these young teens in giant robots to fight a war is really fucked up." And the thing is, I've also found Shinji to be very annoying at times, but I can recognize that I've been in his position before, so I can still empathize with him even when he's being a massive brat.

I just thought that was a funny coincidence. I'm sure it will play out WAY differently, but I think there could be some more nods, especially since it sounds like ole' Alec's up to something shady. Maybe at one point he'll talk to us like this?

I got the feeling you might, considering your avatar. I'd love to see that, I'd be interested to see how one can adapt her into a realistic face.
