Yeah, for serious, while I'm sure we'll have some fun making him out as the suffering suburban dad with the crazy progressive kids ("Why can't you kids just find a nice, decent human being to date? Or even asari--I can kinda get asari!"), I think his story will be that he has seen and done things in the First Contact War that might have made things difficult for him to be the one who establishes first contact with a whole new galaxy.

Alec is already my number one badass dad. So far, we've only seen mom's I think? (Think Hannah Shepard and Leandra Amell) If you go all of the "modern" Bioware games, the list does get a bit bigger. In Origins, you can have different parents depending on the origin you pick -- the Human Noble has both parents at the start, the City Elf has only the father, and so on. And in the Legacy DLC for Dragon Age 2, you can sort of see your father, a formless spirit spelling out the sad tale of the prison you're trapped in but hearing his voice. |

It (was connected to) knew your father? Alec confirmed dead/missing then?
Also it sounds like they were physically connected, how was it transfered then? If he's dead, Ryder may have just took it... I mean I don't really know how this connection works, if it's an implant or something, so I wonder how'd they do that!
