Yeah, from what they've said, the Pathfinder is supposed to have training in combat, technology, AND biotics. Scott and Sara are part of Alec's crew (as "Recon Specialists") so I imagine that they have similar training. You can EASILY assume that Alec, Scott and Sara all had element zero exposure at some point so that biotic abilities can manifest. Or, we can just act like Bioware's completely forgotten their own lore, despite the fact that they've at least tried to handwave new additions to the lore multiple times in the past, because it's more fun to bitch and act like we know better.

BS. That part of lore was intended to explain why da fuck Shep is not an L2, but an L3. It's 100% irrelevant for the soldier\tech Shep. So the lore is irrelevant when it doesn't suits your argument? Good to know... If you follow that way ALL the LIs are 'canon' because each one has the romance described on their wiki-pages. Obviously, some things are mutually-exclusive. Technically nothing stops techShep player from headcanoning the character as a biotic (that had never-ever used and\or mentioned their skills...after being specifically trained to do so...which is kinda strange..but oh, well...). Still, I wouldn't apply this part to 'The Shepard' in general.

From the masseffect wikiaEven if you used a non biotic profile Shepard still had the powers. So i expect something similar will be said about Sara and Scott. And where did the wiki get that from? It's unsourced. My Infiltrator's entries didn't have anything like that in the trilogy at all. I was wondering the same thing. I've never seen any mention in-game of Shepard gaining biotics on any particular date. Clearly if you give him a bonus biotic power then you have to assume that he was latently biotic in order to justify it but I've not seen any specific reference to this. We have had Bioware explicitly state that the Ryder twins are biotic and have had biotic and tech training, however.

There's no reason why being buddies with Garrus should suddenly allow Shepard to use armor piercing ammo. Or being pals with Miranda should suddenly make Shepard biotic (especially since still n one acknowledges Shepard as being biotic). It's simply a gameplay reward

The closest examples I can think of them mentioning our biotics AT ALL is in ME1 when you ask Chekwas about Kaidan's L1 implant, and in ME3, when talking to Traynor about the Grissom Academy, and when Liara talks about Shepard's stats with the black box scene.

Edit: I'm assuming Remnant VI is evolution of Combat Drone because a) Combat Drone is not on the tech list (although since it's part of Engineer profile, maybe you can assign it from there? I don't know, but I doubt it) and if you read the description, it's function seems similar to Combat Drone (attacking targets, and it seems to have missile upgrade). I'm guessing that the self repair and cloaking are part of the Remnant VI evolution Rewatched the previous gameplay video and at 4:20 there was a Combat Droid yet it wasn't in skill slot unless that fireball icon was it. It seems it is an Engineer Profile only skill (or passive now?) Combat Drone: A small drone improves recharege rate for tech powers self-destructs with an EMP pulse if enemies get...??? Remnant VI seems to have a different description: Deploys a retrofitted Remnant Observer that repairs itself over time, clocks when critically damaged, and counts as a tech construct. Overload, Incinerate, Assault Turret, Cryo Beam, Energy Drain, Tactical Cloak, Flamethrower, Remnant VI, Invasion Tech Support, Offensive Tech, Auxiliary Systems So the Infiltrator Profile was active, because of Tactical Cloak and switching to an another profile replaces it with an another Profile specific skill. At first a i tought that it jumped to the and of the list and left a few skills out, but indeed that is the full list. With combat drone and remnant VI, looks like you're right they're not the same skills. Reading Engineer and Soldier profile again, it looks like the bonuses from them will be passive only? (Soldier has "Marksman's Focus" that gives stacking damage bonus on kills) Maybe Combat Drone's purpose is just cooldown reduction and getting enemies away from you and Remnant VI is what Drone was in trilogy. Hope we get more certain info soon

I noticed that the biotic classes were grayed out. I wonder why.

I noticed that the biotic classes were grayed out. I wonder why. Probably there were no skill points spent on biotics. For instance: points on combat unlock "soldier". Points on tech unlock "Engineer". Points on both of them unlock "Infiltrator", which is a hybrid class. By the same logic, putting points on biotics would unlock "adept", biotic and tech "sentinel" and biotic and combat "vanguard". What I don't get is why "explorer" is already unlocked, if it's really an ubber class that needs everything.

Finally got to see the trailer properly. There wasn't much to see other than power loadouts and the skill trees interface, so one hand I'm very positively impressed by the depth of the skill trees, which if well balanced can be a blast and a vast improvement over the OT, and on the other hand this makes me even more puzzled that they're letting us hotkey just 3 skills. More skills than ever, less than half the active powers, I can't make any sense out of this particular design choice. Other than controllers, which is a poor excuse IMO. Passive skills and ammo mods could partially make up for that though.
Now please BioWare I want MOAR. Less than 3 months to go and all we've seen are ~6 minutes of heavily edited gameplay.
I'd actually settle for a briefing tomorrow.

Yeah, from what they've said, the Pathfinder is supposed to have training in combat, technology, AND biotics. To be fair, to a degree, so does every sentinel out there. The point here is that they can actually master all those things.
