dragontartare Since you've completed the suicide mission, I'm guessing you will finish any dlc/side missions that wasn't completed? Here's a helpful tip. Before importing your character to ME3, I would suggest having all minerals above 100 000. Eezo above 50 000. You don't have to, but every little bit helps. I will explain when you start ME3 Oh yeah. Are you going to create a new thread for your ME3 playthrough? Yes, although I'm pretty eager to get to ME3, so I'm not going to muck around longer than I have to. I'm going to go rescue Dr. Kenson, at least. I can do some planet-scanning, too, to get my minerals up further, and hopefully run into some interesting anomalies along the way. I don't intend to do the rest of the firewalker missions, though, since I hated the first one. I hope they aren't too important in ME3. I had thought about starting a new thread so that this one stays ME2-only.

I had thought about starting a new thread so that this one stays ME2-only. Arrival is a pretty decent mission. Playing it will change some early dialogue in ME3. Firewalker is crap, IMO. You do actually get something for completing it but that thing doesn't transfer into ME3. Pointless.

I kind of liked the sneaking around in the beginning, but it looks like the fighting is going to be rather tedious. I'll keep going a bit longer and see how it goes. If all that changes is a bit of dialogue, I may pass on finishing it this time around and just go get some more element zero before I import my save into ME3. I'm feeling impatient

If you're not playing on casual already, I'd recommend trying dialing down the difficulty first before just quitting the DLC.

The fighting was a bit tedious, but the story kept me interested. I'm just going to hunt for some element zero tomorrow and then I should be ready for ME3.

I can do some planet-scanning, too, to get my minerals up further, and hopefully run into some interesting anomalies along the way. That's fine. As I said, getting your resources to the numbers I mentioned isn't that big a deal, but every little bit makes a difference and plus it doesn't take long. I will explain in my reply below why its one the most important dlc's in ME2, for me anyways. The dlc adds nothing to ME3 When you do, let me know if you want me to help you out when starting ME3. Firewalker is crap, IMO. You do actually get something for completing it but that thing doesn't transfer into ME3. Pointless. Its a very good dlc. It takes very little time to complete. When I play ME2, its the one dlc, besides Arrival that I complete. Its very good for getting through the game quickly. Plus the way I set up my ME2 playthroughs, the dlc fits perfectly

It took me a month to get through ME2, and it's a pretty short game. I like insulting myself To a point, anyway. I thought you were starting with 3, for some reason. Are you doing 2 blind? If you decide to test Jacob's waters, let me know what you think of it. I switched to Garrus fairly quickly once I had the option. When you inevitably get ahead of me in ME3, you can come to my new thread and gloat bsn.boards.net/thread/3860/more-stupid-newbie-mass-effect

dragontartareI said I was starting with 3 due to controller issues. Then people came by and told me about mods that give controller options to the PC versions of the game. then yet another person came by and said their son had tried the mod and found it frustrating. But it's got 46k downloads...1600 endorsements. And have nothing to really compare it to, not like I got used to a certain way of playing it before. So, now I guess I'm going to start with 2, if the mod works.

Hope the mod works, because the ME2 has a lot of good characters and stories that conclude in me3.

To be fair, I don't know if it was the exact same mod that was recommended to you on your thread. That mod may be the same one or another that works better. Unfortunately, he's gone out now and I can't ask him for more details.

I just finished ME2 & there is one more assignment that I didn't finish. It was about the forged ID and I have no idea how to complete this. You have to give it to some Asari in the citadel. If I remember correctly you turn right I mean left once you go inside and they'll be sitting on some seats by a stairway. If you're playing the game from a disc you might need to put the other one in or they won't be there.

I just finished ME2 & there is one more assignment that I didn't finish. It was about the forged ID and I have no idea how to complete this. You have to find two asari sitting on a couch somewhere who aren't being allowed to leave the Citadel by C-Sec...because they might be geth infiltrators. Yeah, C-Sec really screwed up on that one. Anyway, there are options... You can give them the forged IDs or convince the C-Sec agent near the Normandy dock to allow them through. Actually, you can give them the IDs and still convince the C-Sec agent if you want.

I started playing ME2 yesterday since it's free on Origin, and I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would. (I had previously played the demo and was very much underwhelmed.) I'm playing in small doses so far, because it's the first shooter I've played and I'm not good enough yet to find it relaxing. However, I think I'm mostly getting the hang of things. I just got done recruiting Mordin and spoke to Aria, and purchased a few items that the crew wanted. I'm trying to avoid major spoilers (minor ones are ok) but I did have a few questions: Is there "party banter" like in DA? Jacob and Miranda made occasional comments, but so far they always pertain to whatever mission we are on. Are there any missions that don't center around sneaking around and shooting things? For instance, missions based more around dialogue or exploration? If Shep dies in combat, does player control move to a party member as it does in DA? Or do you need to reload the game at that point? (I know health regenerates when Shep is behind cover, but just in case I decide to get reckless one day...) I chose to play as a sentinel. Is there anything major I should know to make the best use of this class? Speaking of which, I have a little combat drone that doesn't seem to do anything. It just floats there for a bit, and doesn't seem to attack anyone. What am I missing? Is there any way to increase my inventory so I can carry more of those ammo cylinders I keep finding all over the place? What about all the upgrades I've been finding that need an engineer or someone in order to upgrade them? Where do I get this engineer? Is it Mordin? Do the hacking mini-games get harder as Shep levels up? Are there recommended levels for different areas, or do enemies scale? How to I get my squad's loyalty? Does it just build up or down as the game goes? Or is it tied to specific missions? Can I return to old locations after I've moved on to a different mission? For example, after I leave Omega with Mordin, can I return there later in the game? And most importantly, how can I ensure that Jacob will end up in Shep's pants? (Yes, she fits the qualification of being female.) Thanks Edit to clarify that I have not played ME1. Hey dude Firstly if you haven't played mass effect 1 I'd definely start playing that before playing me2 . To be honest that's what I did to begin with then I see the error of my ways and started mass effect from the beginning. Id say it's more of anew action Rpg than just a shooter , mass effect is story driven and rich in detail and detection making goodness ! (wish I could discover the game all over again !!!) For your question about omega once you recruit squad mates (omega in particular) you can return as much as you like , depending that your not doing a mission. Cheers

Cheers Well, thanks for the response, but this thread is now a month old and I've finished ME2 and moved on to 3.
