Going Dark, including 'should I go dark' (Official Thread)

Agreed so it's all going to happen very fast and very soon especially given the game's out in just over 2 months from now. So it's coming the release date was a warning shot just to prepare us for those of us who wanted to stay dark until the games inevitable arrival. For me I need a little more info before I consider going dark. But I'm relatively confident it'll be a fun game.

I don't have the same faith in Bioware as you do.  Their last two releases have left me scratching my head.

On further reflection...

To be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised by how better a site this is in my honest opinion compared to the old BioWare forums, I've actually thoroughly enjoyed being here and having some pretty awesome discussions and such.

I'm going to stick around a while longer, but the minute things start to get spoilery, I'm going to go radio silent so nothing major is spoiled for me.

For now, I'm gunna stick around.

Ugh I would want to do the same thing but damn this forum is so fun to read! It's my Mass Effect experience before I can play the actual game. But I will eventually go dark... for awhile.

Aside from the briefing videos, I think I'm going dark too.

Which means spending my time on the DAI boards instead of here, so not changing much.

In retrospect, I wish I hadn't known everything about the DAI companions. I decided beforehand what romance to do and picked my race accordingly. And ended up really unhappy with my choice, haha. Better decide on a romance based on actually in-game feedback from everyone.
Also had the big twist ruined. That sucked the most. I tried to be careful but there's no avoiding spoilers on the internet, and BSN in particular. I HATE story spoilers. I get so mad at myself when I accidentally ruin the surprise for myself.

On the other hand, I'm super worried the game will be disappointing compared to the trilogy, so getting a lot of info helps me prepare myself a bit and get a better idea of what to expect and what not to foolishly hope for. So far I've grown less worried the more I learned about the game, with the exception of combat. I dunno about that... But at some point I'll try to stay away from major companion and story spoilers. As much as I want to see Liam's and Cora's face, I'd much rather find out playing the game.

I will however watch the remaining briefings because now that I've signed up I too want that helmet!

I really really wanted to hide under a rock months ago. Even told people at work one day (who had absolutely no idea what I was talking about, because they're not gamers). Tried to explain it to them... while reading BSN... it went great. So I guess I just can't. Maybe when we start getting more trailers, more info and what not, and stuff gets spoilery, because I spoiled DAI for myself... and then the ending of Tresspasser But I'm still here because I just don't learn. So... yeah

I learned a hard lesson about this for ME3. Before the game came out, someone posted a spoiler about

Or actually I think it happened in a live EA chat that someone spammed it in all caps. I WAS SO PISSED. I got trolled hard.

Now I have to go dark pretty soon also. Usually these boards are usually more respectful than other places. BUT, it's easy for a troll to come here and post a topic with spoilers in the headline.  AND FOR SURE avoid Twitch chat for any pre-release streams.

I don't think the major info will come out until review copies have been sent out and some douche leaks it. I'm guessing that's 7-10 days before launch - so if you are going dark, that may be a good time to do so.
